Destiny: Only one area per planet

Fuck. If there was one thing I was hoping wasn't true, it was that. That really, really sucks and makes me worry about how much content is really in the game, which is vital for how Destiny works.

then dont buy it... its a "pretty small game" and has shit missions...

ok. You saved $60. Good for you :)

Doesn't stop me from giving feedback based on what I've played and what this news suggests

It's a game I was pumped for and I'm disappointed to hear such news, maybe I won't get it day 1 anymore but it doesn't stop me voicing my concerns

This truly has me rethinking things. I was dead set on this game, but four total areas in the game (Earth area, Venus area, Moon area, and Mars area) is just not enough in variety and content.

I think there is a slight overreact on what has been said. I'm sure there are dozens of places that have yet to be seen in the one area of old Russia we are allowed. However this amount doesn't seems so bad when the game is built upon expanding. It seems like a reasonable scope for a cross gen game. I have no clue what others were expecting.

and i didnt say you cant voice your concerns.... so i dont know what you wanna tell me right now... :).

and if by "feedback" you mean "pretty small game" and " shit missions" then that´s great feedback Bungie can work with :D

That's what I originally said!

You said it's only their own fault for not expecting that this game would turn out the way it has. You cited peoples expectations as the reason for this but such a barometer is flawed because peoples expectations can range from well anything. Your not really saying why it's only the persons own fault when the developer ball faced lied

You're making far too many assumptions about how the entire thing comes together.

Far too many.

Of course I am. How can I not? Bungie has, since announcing the game, been incredibly vague and secretive about saying anything. Before a month ago, the vast vast majority a people had no idea how Destiny was even gonna work really. Before this beta, people didn't even know if your character would actually, you know..talk. We still have no confirmation on whether or not the weapon types we've seen so far represent all the weapon types in the game. So far not a single alien gun has been seen in the hands of a player

You left out Mercury, Jupiter and Saturn.

Those places are not gonna be in the game unless Bungie has purposefully completely omited from talking about them at all

Destiny's missions felt a lot like Spartan Ops in Halo 4 by 343. Just one large area, throw in waves of enemies, and do it again and again, with slight changes etc. Short, quick with just a few lines of dialogue to advance the story.

Yeah but just saying "don't buy it then" seems to brush away all of what I was saying instead of actually discussing anything.

discuss what? your comment about "shit missions" and "small game" ? sorry but how can you expect to get a normal conversation out of this?

and it doesnt help Bungie to change anything if that`s your "feedback".

What do you mean? I was assuming earth had another raid but it was higher level. I have no basis for that assumption I know but it just felt that way.

The only raid in the game is the vault of glass which you can play with 6 ppl. Strikes are 2 per area.

Wow, that really sucks. Old Russia is it for Earth? Seriously? I'm still going to get the game, but this news has lessened my hype tremendously.

A 6 person raid? The fuck is this shit, unless the definitions of raids have changed that's not a raid. Not by like any mmo's definition of the word.

One area per planet? With how quickly I finished the Earth missions, this is extremely disappointing news. I guess this is why the level cap will be 20. Jeez, with how awful that PvP was and now seeing this, I think I'll just wait to get Destiny when it's cheaper.

but i have to agree that Bungie should give us more informations. Its alot of speculation right now and it hurts this game . Bungie is acting very strange.

Went from a day one buy to wait and see how much content. With a family my gaming budget has shrunken and I don't spend full 60 unless there is a good amount of content. Especially pisses me off if content is limited but there is a good amount of DLC.

Awful pvp? Either you sucked or played with a bad team brah.

You've got a point there. Although Palmer's "eggheads" and other dialogue was far lessened in this.

And traversal and environments are way better setup. But in truth the biggest difference is the rewards you're getting have a real benefit in other aspects of the game.

As disappointing as this news is, didn't they say we haven't even seen everything in Old Russia yet?

We've seen the vast majority. Unless the map for Old Russia is completely unrepresentative of the zone. There are some locked off areas, which are probably story mission specific, as well as some rooms and pathways guarded by high level enemies.

It sounds to me like the main story will probably be...the length of a standard retail game? And that's excluding time for just exploring, collecting stuff, running co-op runs with your friends, PvP, etc.

Considering the amount of time I put into the beta, I find it hard to complain about what awaits in the full game. It's fun. There's a bunch of stuff to do. Failing to see the issue.

Day 1 deal breaker.

Don't want to see the entire games locations all in a day, which I will if they all the size of old russia.

£25 and I'll bite.

Considering the size of old russia (plus the locked locations there), I'm not worried at all. I've replayed the current missions three times and it's still fun. Give me two more missions on old russia and have five planets with similar size and I'm totally satisfied. I think old earth took me something like 3 hours to finish first time around, without much time spent in exploration. Add another thirty minutes for the missing areas and multiply by five and you've got a campaign of about 17 hours on one difficulty, one character class. Easily comparable to Halo or any other shooter out there.

Wasn't there a plan for bi yearly dlc too? Like, Destiny 2014, DLC 1 2015, Destiny 2 2016, DLC 2 2017 etc.?

I think this is BS. I am pretty sure Bungie has said otherwise in the past. There was even screenshots of other places on earth. Unless they are holding those back as part of the expansions / DLC.
