So what did this 500 million dollar investment go towards?
Well an average of 6 missions over 5 planets is 30 missions and they've been 15 mins at most. Campaign wise certainly this looks lacking.
The perfect summary of what's going on here.
We're all suckers and they know it

We don't know there are only 6.

The starting gun is actually pretty decent for the Crucible, and the game doesn't let you play PVP until you reach a certain level (mostly so you have your super and double jumping). I don't feel like I have any other ability in the beta that's helping me out. It's mostly my OP assault rifle.
But of course, every multiplayer game is unfriendly to newbies.
Just because they block it off after you've been there, doesn't really mean it should count a blocked off content imo.
That's still a dungeon. Most mmo's I've played have dungeons like that what your describing. Raids are generally different. Gw1, gw2, Tera, Vindictus, WoW. you name it.
Hence, the short lived populations.
I'd argue though, that there are ones that aren't. CSGO comes immediately to mind, and I've heard second hand that Titanfall allows newish players to have fun.
I am just saying it is possible they blocked of explorable areas which may have content in them. There is most likely content that is higher than level 6 on the planet so I am sure we aren't really seeing everything.
The gateway seemed to be much larger than the glimpse we have had (I wandered around for a bit in the alpha and was wondering if there will be content there.) Because in every named area on the map so far there have been multiple level explorable regions.
I stand corrected, but people are still going by an old angry Joe interview, there is more than one raidVanilla WOW shipped with multiple raids actually.

We don't really know what the Destiny Raid entails. We only know that it will be the hardest mission in the game and will go for "hours".
Hiring Golden Globe award winning actor Peter Dinklage, known for his role as the dwarf Tyrion Lannister in the hit HBO series Game of Thrones, to do the voice of Ghost, your robotic companion through the campaign![]()

You know what? I think I may wait until game of the year edition, or a we need sales edition. This game isn't that great, and sounds like none of the content will be more exciting than mmo quest design.
Destiny games over 10 years. Still not seeing it, as that's probably $100m for each game over an assumed 2 years.
Key word was average. Not seeing why there would be 20 missions on the moon but not only 6 on earth for example.
I agree, one of the biggest problems for me is how stiff the gunplay feels. I never liked Halo's gunplay and this just feels like it but with ADS.
I just realized something. For people who are in-it for the long haul ie doing the harder strikes, the raid and getting rare gear, wouldn't their time only be in one - two areas anyway? Sure, if you're in it for only the story this could be bad news but if you're in-it for the end game you're most likely going to be spending your time in one area anyway no matter how many planets there are.
I thought Chicago was confirmed?
Also https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhNkK4h1oVk#t=72 we were lied to if so, he says we can go to the mountains and such, you cannot.
Went from Day 1 to buy a sealed copy on Craigslist day 1 for 45$

Have you played a destiny raid?
I've played raids in WoW for years, you want 30 people in it? . It's not happening, there is no holy trinity and by definition, not a 'mmo'

Oh, this too.
I was extremely disappointing how much ADS is needed for this game. Really killed a lot of hype for me.

Vanilla WOW shipped with multiple raids actually.
At least that mostly covers the explorable solar system although it would've been nice if they included Mercury or one moon from each of the gas giants. It looks like we get:
Earth: Explore, 5-10 Story Missions, 1 Strike (Devils Lair)
Moon: Explore, 5-10 Story Missions, 1 Strike (The Summoning Pits)
Mars: Explore, 5-10 Story Missions, 1 Strike (Cerberus Vae III)
Venus: Explore, 5-10 Story Missions, 2 Strikes (Winters Run, Nexus), 1 Raid (Vault of Glass)
The Reef: rumored to be a Hub like the tower with the Queen of the Reef Faction, recurring bounties
10-12 Crucible Maps including teasers of upcoming locations such as Mercury or Jupiter

I love the game, but I'm worried about how much we'll be explored with DLCs and Expansions.

Are people really thinking the beta has all the earth missions? The jumping to conclusion going on in these threads is crazy
Cross-gen strikes again. Or just Bungie having a far too unreasonable goal a couple years ago. Old Russia is definitely not the size of the entirety of Reach.
I loved the beta though, even given its smaller scope I'm completely addicted. And It looks like this is going to be expanded quite a lot. I'm expecting each expansion to be roughly the size of Old Russia at that price. If that's the case, and theres frequent events going on like the Iron Banner or strike/raid events, yeah I'm down, sounds fun.
Hopefully Destiny 2, likely being fully new-gen, will have larger zones and more variety.
