This picture is funny for reasons I don't have to even explain.

but he looks much better

why you gotta hate ALBW Link breh
Kinda funny how people complain about the ingame ALBW Link but pink-haired LttP Link gets a free pass from being inconsistent from his art...

I really want the USB GCN adapter to work with backwards-compatibility mode on the Wii U so I can play PM on my Wii U. Plus it'll make old VC games that much more playable - I'd probably go and play Majora's Mask again if I could play it with a GCN controller.

Nintendo would have to be crazy not to patch in universal GCN support for VC games.

...but Nintendo is the only company crazy enough to possibly not :(

When were the Pokemon X/Y 3DSXL'd announced? Was it a month before the game released? Because i'm honestly really surprised at there being no Smash themed XL mentioned.. Or maybe it's too early to think of such things.

This is completely coincidental, but I thought it was kind of interesting:

Zelda / Robin
Side - Fire Magic (Din's Fire / Arcfire)
Up - Wind Magic (Farore's Wind / Elwind)
Down - Dark Magic (Phantom Slash / Nosferatu)

You could say the same thing with Link and Samus

Up B: multihit ascending attack with a final hard hitting blow
Neutral B: chargable projectile
Side B: non chargable projectile with varied directions
Down B: bombs

Robin / Ness

Neutral - Electric based attack
Side - Fire magic that combusts upon contact with ground/enemy
Up - Long range projectile which can be used to attack below you
Down - Technique which can restore life

Ok :p

Well, since I finally have a day off, I thought I'd share another Famitsu article. Enjoy!

You're doing Kami Sakurai's work, sir!

One of the most important things to take from that interview is this:

However, simply thinking about including a character in the game and the act actually crafting the character and making them work are two entirely different things. It's quite difficult for me because most players only think about whether a character is in the game and fail to consider the difficulties of bringing that character to life.
How should I bring out the character's personality? How should I make them move? Can I devise a consistent, comprehensive style for them? What techniques can I come up with to help them stand out from the other fighters? Moreover, do those techniques fit the character and their original game? And, above all, can I make the character fun to play?

There has to be a good reason to put them in, and once you think about putting them in, can all aspects of them be executed correctly, even movement.

Webm version of a gif already floating around.

WTF? Bowsers down-b can completely destroy a full shield? There are two hits that damage the shield, but that doesn't make much of a difference in this case. That's too strong. I hope I'm missing something here. I guess the gif is to show that the down-b also attacks while Bowser is jumping in the air, but the other thing is quite something.

We won't know until release and I've personally never played Bowser, but I guess at this point that directly under Bowser is the strongest hitbox of that attack.

Or maybe shields in general are weaker/easier to break.
Even Marth's shieldbreaker was buffed (it was already very damaging to shields)

RIP Jigglypuff

It's really strong but it's also highly telegraphed and easy to dodge. We'll see how it ends up in the final game. I think slow characters definitely need some incredibly punishing moves, honestly. It makes up for how easy it is to get out of the way from their attacks. Some slow attacks in smash are rarely rewarding enough to use.

Bowser's Bowser Bomb being that potent is warranted to me. In a free for all setting it will be much easier to hit with and while it's certainly much easier to hit with than a Falcon Punch, when it misses it means big trouble for Bowser. There is so much ending lag on the movement it was almost worthless in Brawl against people who knew how to break out of hit stun immediately from the first upward hit. In Melee it was a suicide move, it couldn't hit on the way up(ugh Project M) and it was so easy to dodge in any setting. It's still fairly easy to watch out for but now though if it does hit then good game and that's how it should have always been.

I've actually thought a lot about doing this lately except with a couple of modern additions, just to try and get in the swing of gamedev again.

If you do include Marth. I've always thought how cool Marth would be if he was in SSB64.

If I would do such a thing it would be a smash clone with original characters and 2D, no way I'd be able to make a 3D smash clone/fangame.

I mean I've dabbled in modelling but my only real experience is art and programming for 2D games.

Well, it's not THAT slow when done in midair, just like Bowser himself isn't really slow anymore.

And in any case a normal special move shouldn't completely destroy a full shield, imo. If this is the case for Bowser's down-b, than Falcon Punch or Marth and Ike's fully charged neutral-b must be instant KOs, they're a lot slower and harder to hit with. Especially in a 4-player match it shouldn't be too hard to hit with Bowser's down-b, or not much harder than Kirby's or Pikachu's down-b.

But I agree, we'll need to see if this will be the same in the final version of the game. I certainly don't hope so.

Neat to know that the demo just shows the full game on the gamepad. I personally hadn't seen this before.

There's also the stale moves thing, so it's likely it's only this powerful the first couple of times it's used.
