Good thing, i'm not one of them. I found out on my own through the times of Brawl, when it was on it's way when looking for potentials. Along with watching a playthrough of his game, then into the future, watching his gameplay in Samurai Warriors 3. :c

Man, I feel bad for people who actually believe that Takamaru would be in the game. My heart is out of them. I don't really understand why people feeling the needs to be dicks about it on the forum (and toward to people who have been supporting them over the time) I guess it's really reflect what you really are in real life. What a tragic.

I mostly care about mechanics and I'm hopeful on that front. I guess I'm pretty chill with the roster inclusions.Sakurai's proven himself a wise curator of charactors. I do want Marshal/Chrous Kids, as that idea sounded brilliant when it was suggested by Sal. An Advance Wars rep would be cool, but it seems a little late for their reveal. Game and Watch, Ness, Jigglypuff, come on! I'm generally indifferent to the other veterans, but most of them are interesting and I expect few, if any, to be cut.

 
I'm going to ease up on the trolling....for karma sake.

Next thing I'll know is that someone from Advance Wars would get the trophy fixin.
 
Next Ridley will be a stage hazard, King K. Rool will be a Smash Run boss, Ghirahim & Krystal will be trophies. You will all feel helpless, you will all be the victim, you will all watch your DREAMS DIE!!!!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think anyone's intentionally being a dick about the deconfirm right now so much as they're commenting on the absolutely incredible timing between SmashGAF's last posts and the PotD. For all the posting I'm doing now, I'm pretty chill (after all, Taka got mentioned with the big boys & gal with a fun Sakuraism) and going along with it.

There will never be another Startropics game and it'll be a miracle if it even gets a single mention in SSB4. Takamaru at least gets an AT and was in Nintendoland.
 
I honestly think Wario was my last dream character which is why I've never really felt disappointed by the roster. I guess Miis were one of my more recent hopes hence disappointment in the online implementation but I'm still glad we have them,

I wanted Little Mac and Mega Man and an Animal Crossing character, everything else has just been icing on the cake. I have no complaints about any of the newcomers, they all look awesome.

I haven't really felt too bad about any deconfirmations yet because none of the really hyped characters that we know are out the window right now ever really stood a chance in my eyes. Takamaru is the first where I have some sympathy because I could understand why folks would want him in and hope for him, even if I wasn't expecting him at all myself.

Chibi-Robo is my big hopeful holdout and I really doubt we'll get him but I WANT HIM SO BAD

Yes let's add in another blue haired generic swordsman, only this time from an obscure game that's been dead for decades. Makes about as much sense as another space animal or a Googly eyed Crocodile King.

I found it cool that Sakurai brought up the history of Takamaru which is what people have been riding on as a theory for him being included, but him as a character in my opinion is just really lame compared to the rest of the newcomers and their movests.
 
Whenever folks bring up "deconfirmed via trophy," I feel it's worth noting that Phosphora from Kid Icarus Uprising was first shown as a normal trophy and then later revealed to be an Assist Trophy in the Palutena trailer.

When people talk about "Wonder Red deconfirmed" I mean, I doubt he'll show up as a character when he's been shown as a trophy first, but I could see him having a role as an Assist Trophy still.

I believe that you misunderstanding my post or maybe I'm not clear enough with what I'm saying. When I'm talking about intentional shitting on Takamaru but hilarious timing on disconfirmation and Sakurai's POTD are pretty much fine with me because hey, it's Sakurai.

I could in no way see the potential of a ninja and samurai with shurikens, fireballs, invisibility, etc. In a fighting game like smash bros which is notorious for reviving retro characters that have been dead for years.

I was personally for the character but realistically knew it wasn't going to happen but you dont have to be rude and mock people when they are down.
 
I'm going to quickly run down a list of desired characters and tell you why they are garbage compared to Takamaru.

King K. Rool: Probably the worst addition you could make to Smash. He is a poor man's Bowser, and one of the most unoriginal bad guys in gaming. We already have enough heavy brawler characters who are much more imaginative. Also his entire motive is to steal bananas. Fucking BANANAS. His boss fight in DKC has is ridiculously lame. FINAL SMASH: Throw crown.

Dixie Kong: What if Diddy Kong was a girl? That is the extent of how much thought was put into the idea of Dixie Kong. She's got HAIR ABILITIES WOW. She can haircopter over gaps. That's way cooler than a barrel jetpack!

Daisy: Bob-Ombs are better developed characters than her. She barely gets into Mario Party games, and if Nintendo dumps her for Rosalina any chance they get.

Shulk: Heir to the Monado? More like heir to the worst main character design since Vaan in FFXII.

Chorus Men: Donkey Kong's final smash called, it wants its gimmick back.

Dark Pit: I can't believe this character actually has a chance of getting in. Yes, I know "evil" versions are a staple in many fighting games, but his inclusion would be a clear case of Sakurai playing favorites instead of trying to make the most diverse and interesting roster possible.

Hades: See Dark Pit.

Chibi Robo: Chibi Robo looks like something a three year old would draw. It is completely void of any character and its entire gimmick is that its small. Not to mention it has the most boring abilities you could imagine like cleaning and plugging itself in. The point of his game is to collect happy points. HAPPY POINTS.

Ray MK-2: He looks like one of those cheap knock off Gundams you find in Japanese capsule machines. He also has the same gimmick as Chibi Robo in that he's just a small robot. What's he gonna do, shoot lasers? Pit already stole that.

Bandana Dee: I refuse to even acknowledge this character.

Ghirahim: Ghirahim was only cool when he revealed his true form. Before that he was a stereotypical effite villain who did nothing. Neutral special: Stand there. Side special: Wave hand around.

Ridley: Nothing bad can be said about this majestic beast.

Her not being in at all would be slightly more comforting in a really bizarre, contradictory way. Like tripping just before the finish line. You're happy they made it that far at all, but it still kinda stings.

I had the same sensation both times Lyn was revealed as an AT.
 
I'm not mocking anyone, just saying how unlikely a character of such low standing is to be in the game.

Hell Soccer is a piece of NES history, let's include soccer man as a character! Tons of great offensive moves such as headbutt, bicycle kick, slide tackle, bunch of trick shots. It came out the same year as Super Mario Bros which already includes such Smash Luminaries as Princess Peach, Mario, Luigi, and Bowser. Hell I'm sure Soccer player is in just because Sakurai loves these historical connections.
