PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | July 2014

I can't decide between Lego Marvel, Injustice or Rogue Legacy.

any ideas?

It depends on the platform your talking about. If it is the PS4, all three are very solid deals :D. RL looks to be a very fun but challenging 2D Platformer mixed with Rouge-like elements :). I'm not getting it myself (as I have tons of games to get through) but it looks to be an utter blast to play, so don't miss out on it :).

Lego Marvel is an open-world superhero game where you get to play as Lego versions of your favorite Marvel Super Heroes; what's not to love :D. The visuals look really nice and crisp on the PS4 and the story looks to be decent as well. If you like action/adventure games and superheroes, then give the PS4 version a shot :D. The Vita version is okay only :l; it is a top-down action game that isn't nearly as good as the PS4 version. It is cheaper then the PS4 version though, so if you are interested in it, it should be worth its (I think?) six dollar price tag :).

Injustice is solid on both the Vita and PS4. The both versions have the same content and story mode, with the Vita version having more of Star Lab's Missions (if you played MK9, these are essentially this games version of the "Tower" floors). The PS4 version looks and runs better then the Vita version but both are very solid buys :). It is a better deal on PS4 as that currently lacks a lot of fighting games, so it should fill that void well :D. The combat is fast and fun, the roster is very solid and the DLC fighters are even better additions to the game. Get it if you want a fun fighter to play :).

I've seen like 9 different The Last of Us threads on gaf today.

Its nice that PS4 buyers are getting a chance to experience the game for the first time or revisit the game again :). Never played the game, but every just loves it (not a surprise :D; Uncharted 2 was amazing and much of that team made this), so its great to see people praise the game again on PS4.

hey thanks man! I appreciate you taking the time. I am talkinh about PS4 your input will really help.

Depends on what you are in the mood for. Rogue Legacy can get challenging and has some very fun combat and decent platforming. Lego Marvel is a collect-a-thon but has a fun story and characters if you like the Marvel universe, definitely the most content. I platinum'd it but the controls got frustrating collecting everything. Haven't played Injustice but I can't imagine it has much of a single player besides your typical fighting ladder?

No problem :D. Lego Marvel looks to be the best deal out of the three to me; between the amount of stuff to collect/unlock plus the huge roster of characters to play as, if you really enjoy it, you will play that for a long while :).

Another great run! 1000 gold, 2 armor blueprints, and another enchantress rune. I should buy a lottery ticket.

Solid run! I stalled out on my quest for the beating it in 15 deaths trophy, not gonna happen now. But I'm so excited about playing this game again, I need to control my self. Off to bed so I'm not a complete waste of life tomorrow at work.

It's actually got a pretty meaty story mode like Mortal Kombat 9 had. Basically like playing through one of those animated DC movies you can catch on Netflix. Don't think it comes close to all the extra content MK9 had, but it's definitely enough for the price it's at right now.

Yeah, I'm not sure I buy that PS+ list either. Seems too much like a dream list, made up with caveats (Blood Dragon instead of FC3). I'll buy it when it's on the blog.

So excited to see Rogue Legacy up already instead of a regular update.

I also noticed something new that I haven't seen before on Vita which is akin to pre-loading for PS4.

Here is the shot of my DL list on Vita. Notice the options part in CounterSpy

Here's what it says when I check it.

It almost looks like pre-loading. Look at where it says auto-download and where it says playable date. If that's true then that may be thread worthy on it's own but to have it automatically download is awesome and something I haven't seen on Vita or any handheld before. If someone wants to take info from this post, I think that's new thread worthy.

It's almost like preloading. I enabled the option yesterday and this morning I received a notification to download Rogue Legacy from the PSN store.

Rogue Legacy plays well (so far) on the Vita. However, a lot of the text is too small and blurry. There are good fonts in the game that are small. I'm not sure why they settled on the ones they did, with this Vita version, for certain screens.

yeah Rogue Legacy preloaded on vita - it's been discussed in this thread. You get a notification when you can download the preload and then it unlocked at midnight. If you tried to launch before then it gave a msg saying wait for the activation date. There's lots of screens of the msg in the thread.

It's not quite as smooth as ps4 preloading with the countdown but it's pretty cool.

Okay, so either my Vita is broke or my charger is. Ugh. This is so frustrating. As I said a couple of hours ago, it's not turning on. The PS button is not orange (or any color) despite me visually inspecting that the charging cable is secure at every end. I've been charging it for two hours now and nothing is happening.

I'm really mad. I will use my fiancee's Vita charger tomorrow and see if that's the problem. I'm HOPING that's the problem.

Happened to me before with my old 1000 Vita. It was the charger that was faulty, had to go in to get a replacement because of the proprietary connection.

So I want to grab Rogue Legacy and the PS+ price says 13.99 but when I add it to the cart it shows 16.99?

I just checked the store, yeah, the PS+ discount is gone. I think it's because that's a preorder discount only, and anyone who had preordered got it tonight. So technically, since the game is released, you can't preorder it.

You should try to charge it through a usb port on a computer.

I hope that's the case. I don't want to see my ol' First Edition Bundle Vita go. :(

This may seem like a silly thing to say but is the connector inserted the right way? The bit that goes into the Vita I mean. On some models you can actually insert it upside down and it won't charge. That happened to a Vitabro before.

I'll give that a shot. Does it automatically start charging when plugged into the computer?

Yup.

Yeah. Rogue Legacy has that "one more" kind of thing. I get killed sometimes for some really stupid things...but seeing the children and their traits is great. Gotten a few "fan of the man". XD

Wanted to preorder Hohokum for the discounted Plus price but everything mentions PS3/PS4 only...is this game coming to the Vita the same day? Crossbuy?

Yes and yes.
All games in the PLAY 2014 promotion have cross-buy offers for all 3 platforms: PS4, PS3, and Vita. They just didn't put up pre-order listings for the Vita versions.

I have 60 euros in my online wallet.
I'm thinking into buy a Vita game.
Dead or Alive 5 plus
Persona 4 Golden
Muramasa Rebirth
or Dragon's Crown

Which one of those four is better? Thanks GAF.

use that money to buy a PS+ subscription and buy those games when they go on sale.

do we knoe when the August games will be available for download?
I'm leaving (and I'll have no access to a Wifi line) for the summer, and I'd like to download a good new game for my PSVita (otherwise, I'll stick with Dragon's crown)

First store update of the month. So, next Tuesday (NA) or Wednesday (EU)

Persona 4 is still king for me. I put 100+ hours into it like it was nothing the first several weeks it came out. Muramasa is gorgeous but ultimately forgettable in my experience with it.

Persona 4 Golden, but it'll probably go on sale this week since the summer sale starts

Glad to see Rouge Legacy getting a lot of love. I'm staying strong though. I already own it on PC, and I'm looking for something new to play. The coming months have quite a few titles I'm interested in. It's for that reason I'm not getting Last of us remastered. I already beat the game three times.

If you have a Vita, grab Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds later today.

Wow that looks good. It's pretty much Scott Pilgrim. I loved that game.
