PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | July 2014

Man, this store update really disappointed me :(. Was really hoping for Cross-Buy with Ratchet Collection....but I will just get that much latter on. Only payed 7.50 for the PS3 version of the collection (PS3 Summer Sale last year), so paying 30 bucks for this doesn't sound that bad :l.

Its cool that Rouge Legacy finally came out though :D! Heard really great things about that game, so I hope everyone enjoys that :). Its even better for PS4 owners too with Last of Us Remastered. Never played it myself but the game just oozing with praise left and right makes this a must buy for all PS4 owners :D.

No Phantom Breaker, so I'll be going through Rogue Legacy this week. Also wow Rogue Legacy on Vita just automatically saves everything as a cross-save so I'm gonna try it out on my PS4 soon.

I don't care as much for Last of Us to buy it again (I gave my PS3 copy away because well I didn't care much for it) but I'll probably just borrow it from a friend.

August will be the fucking end of me. Akiba's Trip and Phantom Breaker BG next week, Disgaea 4 R the week after, I'm probably gonna buy the SAO game which comes the week after Disgaea 4 (and I fucking hate SAO's story but it's apparently a good game), AND THEN NEPTUNIA REBIRTH THE WEEK AFTER THAT.

This month.

EU PSN summer sale is almost here! I havent been this excited about a sale in ages, i really hope they trow some good vita games in there. Picked up some psn credit vouchers today to prepare :']

So close to Disgaea 4.

In a topic on r/vita discussing the delay of Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds:

It could likely pushed back because of rogue legacy. No point selling a game when, for lack of better words, a better game is coming out the same day. Isn't that sometimes why big name developers pushed there dates back?

Haha...okay, buddy.

Not much for me in this week's update. Shame the Ratchet & Clank Collection doesn't appear to be cross-buy.

---

I beat Steamworld Dig today. I should have listned to the GAFfers praising it back when it came it out! Really loved it.

I'm honestly not that excited. I hope I'm wrong but I don't expect the deals to be that great.

I see that Chrono Phantasma got a permanent price drop on PS3. Hopefully they drop the price on the Vita version soon. I'd do $31.99.. I plan to get the game anyway, but the two version shouldn't be the same price.

Me too... Swapper, Phantom Breaker, Hohokum, Disgaea 4, Akiba's Trip, Neptunia... and that Sword Art game, I'm gonna have to import the physical copy in English at a premium. I might wait on that, though.

I might, maybe, maybe get Counterspy too. I get this kinda crappy vibe of Mission Impossible on N64 crossed with Killer 7, and that's speaking to me. The $10 back is tempting, otherwise I would just wait... but I might pass on it for now, too.

Akiba's Trip was announced to launch August 12, same day as Disgaea 4 Return. so only Phantom Breaker BG next week, and then the madness begins...

Is Rogue Legacy worth $16.99? Would somebody who loves Spelunky love this game? (I know they aren't exactly the same, but I like the RPG elements I've heard about from Rogue Legacy.)

Let thy wallets be ready!

Year of the Vita! :D

Akiba's Trip,
Disgaea 4 R
Danganronpa 2,
Senran Kagura

and that's just "must haves" for me. Not counting Hyperdimension Neptunia remake, Natural Doctrine, PSN titles, sales, and other things designed to sap my money away. If you like Japanese games this really is a good year for the Vita.

I don't think there will be a single week in August where I won't buy something for my Vita.

This ^ I'm looking at my agenda, and this is the order of stuff that I'm getting every week from next week Tuesday, until the end of Sept:

1- Phantom Breaker
2- Akiba's Trip 2
3- Tales of Xillia 2 (PS3, idk how the heck I'm going to fit this one in)
4- Neptunia (big maybe on this one. but I'm the type of guy that when in doubt, just buys)
5- Danganronpa 2
6- Destiny
7- Natural Doctrine
8- Senran Kagura (uncertain release date)
9- P4AU (another uncertain release date)

Fuck me and my wallet.......

$17 is steep, but yeah, if you like Spelunky you'll probably like it even though they're not 1:1 the same. I think Spelunky has a design that lends itself more to mastery. Rogue Legacy has more chaos with it's enemy placement and "who knows" going on with how it lays out it's interconnected levels, enemies, and descendent character traits... but it buffers this with things like equipment and character improvements that you retain.

5- Danganronpa 2
6- Destiny
7- Natural Doctrine
8- Senran Kagura (uncertain release date)

Fuck me and my wallet.......

Yep, these too... and we always get somewhat short notice on the digital-only indie stuff that's bound to pop up between now and then.

My list is about the same, except swap out Phantom Breaker and P4AU for Metro Redux and Project DIVA F 2nd (Amazon lists it as September 30th). Plus Fairy Fecer F and Ar No Surge. August and September are gonna be ridiculous.

Alright! Who bought Pure Pool? I'm gonna buy it when I get home because my PS4 isn't hooked up to the Internet right now but before I do that, I need someone to confirm that it is

A. Absolutely goddamn beautiful.
B. Not fucking broken (ex. Dustforce Vita)

IF no one can answer I'll take the plunge and tell y'all myself.

For me my biggest worry isn't even the money (although it kind of should be, but anyway), it's how the heck I'm going to be able to play all this. This list is all of the stuff that I REALLY want to play, it's not like it's stuff that I know I will leave unfinished... Some of these I can beat in a week (Danganronpa 2), but then there's stuff like Destiny which I probably won't be able to put down. I'm in college so my time is already limited as is, this season is going to be one heck of a trial in my gaming career LOL.

Amazon's listing it as December 31st for me. For North America, at least.

Ye, I know how you feel. I'm going back to Uni this year so it's gonna be interesting seeing if I can balance all those games and school work.

Amazon.ca has listed as September 30th. Didn't Diva f release in September of 2013?

October, I'm looking on my agenda again lol, doesn't seem to be quite as busy, but there's stuff with no release dates yet like for example Freedom Wars, so it could drop at any time... For now the only thing I got for that month is Lords of the Fallen. Then November hits hard again: COD (this one looks cool okay?!), Tales of Hearts R, Dragon Age Inquisition, Persona Q. That's my list of games for the year, for the stuff that's been announced anyway. I'm sure this list will only get longer with Gamescom and all coming soon...

So when I challenge people in Treasures of Montezuma Arena am I actually playing against AI? When I went to multiplayer for the first time I had already lost once to someone. I played and won a few matches and stopped for a while. When I came back I had lost another match while I wasn't playing the game. I've got three losses now, and only one of them occurred while I was actually playing the game.

Remind me what PS3 and PS Vita games are releasing in August and September please?
My memory is fuck all foggy.
...Oh yeah Is hould pre-order Akiba Strip and P4A Ultimax soon...

Rogue Legacy is perfect for short bursts of portable gaming, and the permanent RPG upgrades make the game even more addicting. Just wondering, why didn't you preorder it?

Well, I was disappointed in the price at first. Then, around 11:30 last night I decided I would boot up my Vita and preorder it, and my Vita wouldn't turn on or charge (turned out it was the charging cable that was no longer functioning); it was this whole big thing. So now I'm back to thinking rationally and also sort of frustrated that I ended up not getting the Plus discount by pre-ordering.

You can't preorder on Vita anyway, so it wouldn't have helped.

Here's hoping Freedom Wars doesn't come out in September - it'd be sending it to die.
like they did with Tearaway
FW is going to die in the west regardless.
None of my usual image-hosting sites are working. ;_;

You should still get it though, especially if you're into difficult platformers like Spelunky. The $3 difference isn't that big of a deal IMO.
