EA announces Subscription Service for Xbox One ($5/month or $30/year, get game vault)

That's just how the Xbox One works. Newest download added automatically moves to the top. Give it a moment to start the install.
 
I got a message on xbox for that EA thing. I paid for a full year. Works already I popped out Battlefield and FIFA and they worked without the discs. Didn't have to DL anything. DL Madden now.
 
so basically XB1 gets early access to all upcoming EA games? hmm interesting. Good move for microsoft not sure how gamers who only own one system that is not an XB1 will feel about this though. Seems like EA is still decidedly in one camp despite their claims. Also very surprised no mention of this service on PC.
 
I got a code, checked it out a bit but didn't sign up yet. I'm big time into sports but don't really play Madden so for 30 bucks I might go ahead and try it out. Same goes for Peggle.

I was hoping the "10% off Games and DLC" would apply to TitanFall but apparently that's the exception to everything.

I'm trying to go over what EA games could be popping up on this soon specifically on XBO and I'm drawing a reaaallll short list here:

Titanfall
NFS
NBA Live 14
UFC
PvZ Garden Warfare

Aaand that's about it. Where's the content for their "vault" going to come from?
 
This sounds like it could be a really good deal. Perhaps they'll get some of the 360 games to work on the One to increase the amount in the vault.

I may be a bit slow but I can't for the life of me find the app for this yet. Is there a site we have to go to to sign up for it?
 
Is there a logic behind who is getting chosen? I signed up for an Origin account to try to ensure that I get an invite.


Isn't it weird that EA didn't tease this service at E3? I think the hype and anticipation for it to launch would have been huge.

They specifically said TitanFall wont be part of this. for whatever reason.
 
Told a few friends about this who are HUGE sports game fans, and they are willing to buy an xbone just for the early access. Dragon Age is a nice bonus too lol. This is a very good move by Microsoft.

That's fine. I have all three systems and a huge back log going back two gets. The smart thing would be for me to wait and pick what system I want to enjoy this on. I am sure it will come to the PS4 eventually.

You could just pay $30 for a year which makes it equivalent to $2.50 a month. Also I don't know why you'd pay $10 a month for Live when a 12 month card is $60 MSRP and can be found for $40 or under several times throughout the year.

Desperate times equals desperate measures...

We should all know by now that when MS announced their console last year, that both EA and MS had an unprecedented partnership. That line of thinking gave them the hubris that they could control and dominate the market, but luckily didn't work out that way and the consumer is better for it. Maybe this was the plan all along, even before the announcement, or maybe they are just throwing ideas at the wall to see what sticks, who can really say at this point besides the people who come up with these ideas. At the same time this is a great end goal for EA, since it is possible this will ultimately eliminate the second hand market by forcing consumers to go digital, plus they cut out retail and take a bigger cut on each sale. Great move for EA, and a so-so move for consumers... but if you really think EA is in it to give you a deal, you should wake up and smell the coffee, because last I checked, EA has been leading the charge in trying to squeeze every little penny from consumers while at the same time limiting full retail products.

I couldn't see any way they would take them from you. The achievement is tied to your XBL profile and not an EA one. It'd be like borrowing a game from a friend and then giving it back. The achievements stay with the profile and not the game.

lol I don't know why you guys are asking these question. Isn't that obvious. The real question would be, in those 5 days trial. Can we earn achievements or we have to buy the full game.
 
This is a great deal. I already owned FIFA 14 and BF4 on disc. Not only did I get another 2 games(Madden and Peggle), but I can go sell those 2 discs now. I also plan on buying FIFA 15, so that's another $6 saved.

I highly doubt this... this is another way to hawk their DLC. Battlefield Premium is not going to be included.

well they reserve the right to remove any titles from the vault (and your access to them) w/ 30 days notice and I am sure they will do it for the yearly sports titles. Not much of a catch though
 
Will be a great deal when there are more games available. Need guarantees that they are not going to stop games after a year or something shady which i wouldnt put it past them.

Maybe this is ms reward for trying initially sticking with the always online drm (i have no doubt ea were a big thirdparty pushing that direction). Probably abit of a sorry we know we fucked you over and you had to do a complete 180.

EDIT: if this means i can try a battlefront beta i will sign up immediately

Even getting access to these games for a year seems like a bloody good deal for $30 a year.
 
This seems like a good deal (well, the annual price at least) for those who are interested in those EA games. The Xbox One exclusive part has me a bit flummoxed. Seems odd to make a service like this exclusive to one platform.

Paying $54 is less than the $60 I would normally pay for the digital version. It sounds like a good deal to me. For only $30 a year it is definitely worth a try.
 
Subbed. Took out my BF4 disk and the game runs as should, its like I own a digital copy now. Will take my disk to Gamestop tomorrow. Also all the EA games are already discounted in the Xbox Store. Fantastic deal/ potential savings for 30 measly bucks a year. My one small complaint was that I couldn't use MS points to buy it.
