Tottenham have made their move for Holland winger Memphis Depay by offering £9million plus Nacer Chadli.

The 20-year-old winger is due to play for PSV Eindhoven in Thursday's Europa League qualifying tie against SKN St Polten but Tottenham are keen to get a deal wrapped up and are prepared to sacrifice Chadli who has failed to impress since joining last season from FC Twente for £7m.

PSV technical director Marcel Brands declared on Wednesday the player was not for sale and that no bid had been received but Sportsmail understands the offer has gone in and that PSV are willing to accept.

£9m + Chadli would be fine, but I expect it will be straight cash if it happens. Chadli apparently wants to fight for his place.

Hey Milch. Can we trust Die Welt?

According to Die Welt information, Arsenal are leading the race to sign Marco Reus. Arsène Wenger has "long been a fan" of the German.

The German publication are quick to stress that any transfer is more than likely to take place next summer, not this summer.

Die Welt is quite good actually, although not really known for their sports part. I just read that article and it doesn't look like more than speculation.

They have the right idea (Bayern isn't close to agreeing terms with Reus, if they even want him) but the Arsenal part doesn't sound convincing to me. They say "according to our sources an English club is leading the race: Arsenal London. Wenger is a huge fan and wants him". The guy doesn't even know the proper name of your club and why a Berlin based newspaper should have exclusive/good sources about a Dortmund player signing for a London based club is beyond me.

Have you guys seen this?

Twitch shenanigans.

Yeah, it's the beginning of the end.
Google got them...
Well, there are plenty of alternatives.

Pls.
Die Welt is shit, if you want a really good source on Dortmund you either got Thomas Hennecke from Kicker or Freddie Röckenhaus from Süddeutsche.
Especially Röckenhaus got really good connections, he said that some of his teammates said, that Reus isn't the type to be influenced by his advisers.

Coming to join his boyhood legend Rosicky. Think Wenger could successfully convert him to a ST.

Why would you even want to try to make a striker out of Reus?

Be honest, have you even watched him more than in the two Arsenal-BVB matches? Playing him as striker is basically taking everything away he's good at.

Walker is quick enough to make up for most of his mistakes but fuck me if he isn't the densest footballer I've seen in a while. Yorkshire lad, so he must be a nice bloke but I reckon he is a right simpleton. Translates to his game. Zero positional sense, lapses in concentration and odd mistakes.

Not terrible, but not England quality for me.

Walker is a good player, he has developed a lot in the last few years and people only remember his bad games. If he stays fit this season he will get in the England team and stay there, he's not the smartest player but he is a fantastic athlete and is becoming more composed in his passing and reading of the game. He won't be the best England RB of all time but he's the best we've got right now.

He is incredibly gormless though, I've met him in real life and he talks like he's been huffing paint thinner.

Well, of course they are not good for BVB news and like I said, their sports department isn't really known for football news.

I must admit, I haven't read Die Welt at all. But generally speaking, what I've heard about the newspaper was more positive than negative.

What if it was Cuadrado instead of Vermaelen. I'd consider that quite good. We need 2 CB's though I don't have faith in Jones/Smalling.
Not sure on Vermaelen. Can't remember the last time I watched him play and have a good game.

Cuadrado isn't really needed either. Would rather use the money on a top CM or CB instead.

Seriously hope we can get some of these moves out of the way before the start of the season, everyone says the fixtures are kind to us but forget we lost or drew alot of these fixtures last year.

Van Gaal will turn Vermaelen back into "The Verminator."

It will be like his first two seasons at Arsenal where he was out-jumping and out-muscling the biggest strikers in the league before carrying the ball out of defence and smashing it in the top corner.

maybe

Ciro really loves his mates.

Yes but you had Moyes at this time last year too....

We were very shakey v Pool, got a tad lucky to be honest though it was nice resilience.

Current squad you cant say we will win all of our early games, teams will sit deep.

Everything's a service now.

I think you should start a web show where you get angry at video game stuff

Novel idea for you there

Go back to bed, Linnette.

So tired of work.

We are so understaffed that it has taken me all day to get an answer to an urgent question.

Basically lost a whole day of work and I will get the blame when the deadline is missed.

Verm used to be great, i remember a goal he scored, i think against everton on the opening day. Driven from outside the box.

Guys, I done goofed. I watched a Memphis Depay YouTube highlight reel. Need that Lamela, Depay, Eriksen future.

Need all 3 to be laying on the chances for Soldado to miss.

I thought this was a parody of the constant "Arsene will convert him into a CF" spiel, but you're actually serious?

I'll admit all I know about Reus is based on YouTube and CL footy. I'm a typical premface guy but I thought that was already established. Still I bet people thought Wenger was clueless when he started playing Henry at ST. If Reus ever came to Arsenal I'm willing to bet a lot that he'd be played there as an experiment at some point. I mean we let Gervinho play CF.

There are impressionable kids following that twitter account. It's a slippery enough slope as it is. We don't need meme images which are one step away from Al Qaeda Recruitment ads floating about.

even better comedy right here

Rafa Benitez insisted “the project, not Louis van Gaal” will influence Marouane #Fellaini ’s move to #Napoli

Still a thick, preening knobhead

Bayern is probably shaking in their boots against these MLS All Stars.

MLS pushing technology with four cameras inside the goalposts. I've never seen that.
