Probably going to pick up an Xbox One when this game + Sunset Overdrive releases. I haven't had an Xbox console since the original, and only finished playing the first Halo game, but remember loving it despite me not liking FPS games. Music was also amazing.
I just wanted to ask the fans of the series just how good is the campaign, story, and characters in the Halo series. Really looking forward to getting into the series, but not too interested in the multiplayer stuff, unless it's playing through the campaign together with a friend

I'm torn. Halo 4's mechanics were insanely sound. It's just that again they included armor abilities and their map design sucked ass minus a couple of them. Honestly if I had to choose I'd choose 1,2,3 over either Reach and 4 multiplayer wise. That's why I'm excited as hell for this collection.
Who didn't. I mean I can understand why people hated it but I felt if it was part of the sandbox then by god I was going to use it. The abilities were fun to use but from a gameplay perspective they just sucked the fun out of it for everyone else. You could be winning a firefight and bam armor lock. Oh grenade stick not anymore I'll just armor lock. It made you feel powerful but damn to be on the receiving end of that sucked ass. Jetpack then ruined map flow. Halo 4 really suffered as a result of abilities like that I feel too.
Me, too. Especially its campaign, forge, and theater modes. Even Firefight, I appreciated the attempt to tell a story through co-op, but just wasn't as fun as just going through Reach's firefight.
Funny you should say that. It's £111 on Forbidden planet. You would actually be cheaper to buy the statue separately from Forbidden Planet and just buy the the lower tier collectors edition for £53 from Game.co.uk.

The stories aren't well told, but the games are loads of fun. Try to play with a friend and co-op the games. It makes the experience much better, and is what has put Halo above other games, to me.

Where do you see that you can buy it separately for $20? I am going digital with all my games now so that would be perfect if I can get this separately for $20 and then get the digital game for half price thanks to game sharing with a buddy.

The Bungie games are fantastic (especially in co-op). Halo 4 is middling imo. Still fun with others.
If you can get access to a 360, I'd recommend Reach too (it's a prequel).

Same here. I especially liked the darker tone compared to the other Halo games.
Local stores have them, I want it, but I am only buying digital so have to pass.
Plus you can buy the figure separately anyway so it's not even a big deal.

$130+$60+Tax=around $205
I guess the steel case and that little map book costs $100.
The neca one is 18 inches (46 cm) tall too.

Cool, thanks. I couldn't find a separate page for it. $20 isn't too bad I suppose. I wonder how much they will be going for on eBay after the game comes out.
I hope this is a mock up and they go for a higher quality spined book rather than a crappy ringbinder thing.

Well, having spoken to one of Games customer reps over web chat, I've now lost my impulse to buy the Mjolnir edition. Turns out, it's a static pose and not a fully articulated model:
Kotobukiya is just below Bandai for plamo, and on the same level as Good Smile for fixed pose figures. Their Star Wars ArtFX figures are outstanding, and I have not doubt their Halo line will be just as good.
NECA is doing a 1/4 Chief, but I'd rather wait for 3As 1/6 Chief if their Carter/Emile figures are the standard.
Any word on what might be coming to the U.S.? I like steelbooks lol.
Probably makes for an amazing step stool.

Doubtful. I think they're going all MLG with this, and will have laminated pages for dry erase markers and junk. Spiral makes more sense, even if the quality is worse for it.

Perhaps the artwork could change but otherwise it's perfect IMO.
Also, if they actually do add halo 5 multiplayer to the MCC shell then they could just release pages for the maps in that to easily add to the spiral binder.

A Lockout reveal and being playable at the fair would be the way to do it right.
I didn't tell him it wasn't his favorite.
The campaign was OK. But as a game it killed MP for me. Armor Abilities, namely sprint but also jetpacks killed maps completely, especially for any remade ones. And all the MP maps were pieces from the campaign. Just a really badly thought out game after such a great run of 1,2,3. And ODST was awesome, even without arena MP.

I preordered the steelbook from GAME just in case for some crazy reason they don't release a steelbook version in the states. I'll just cancel it if they do, as soon as I get my preorder placed here, that is.
It's pretty insane what they're charging for that mjolnir edition though. But some folks will fork it over for sure... obviously since it's sold out.

Welp the latest Halo Bulletin someone kinda linked to earlier confirms they are doing a panel (well MS is doing one with a portion of it dedicated to this game) and it looks like they are doing another one too. It was hard to tell by their wording. It just sucks that it is so early in the morning for those over here in America. See below:
