Finished my finals. Got 9/10 in one, and 10/10 in the rest. Feels good

I feel sorry I missed the Pep meltdown of last night.

Congratulations.

Nice! Do you get your results instantly or what?

I always have to wait WEEKS to get me results, it's annoying as shit.

Sounds like your regular German university. Thankfully I mostly had oral exams, so it's only a (torturous) five minutes of waiting.

Everything about this NY team sounds a bit cheap and slapdash, like AFC Wimbledon being thrust into the PL in their first season

They actually have a pretty impressive operation already. On top of bringing in some big name players, they're already doing a ton of work with the community and the local academies. Affiliated with something like 7 or 8 youth programs and have put on quite a few events already. They've done a pretty insane amount of advertising and outreach that seems to be going a long way with locals. There was a palpable excitement from random people about the team which took me by surprise to be honest.

A few instances that I can recall offhand -- I overheard two random 20-somethings (guy and girl) talking about the Lampard signing and the rumored loan to Man City at this famous bookstore called Strand Book Store. When we were eating dinner, a couple next to us was discussing their son training with Borrell (the mom couldn't remember his name but mentioned some of the talking points about his time at Barca) who has been there leading some youth campus lately.

We went to a show at the Comedy Cellar (and saw a surprise set by Judd Apatow which was awesome) and some dudebros behind our group of 8 people from MCFC Austin were interested in NYCFC and one said he'd already purchased season tickets -- another mentioned he had kind of got into soccer via the World Cup and was excited. I think it's going to be a pretty cool team and I'm a little sad I can't fully support them!

BundesligaGAF, my kicker team for next season:
Leno
Jantschke - Süle - Schmelzer (Wendell)
Lars Bender - Bittencourt - Micky - Stocker - Hajrovic (Parker)
Kruse - Auba

What do you think? Not sure if I should keep Wendell and Hajrovic, also think about swapping Parker with Ducksch.

:lol

After 2 long weeks I finally get internet at the new uni house. I missed Sanogo's 4 goals, I missed all the pre-season banter, but most of all I missed you guys

West Ham's new signing Enner Valencia holds his first news conference as a Hammers player outside London's Olympic Stadium, where the Premier League side will play from 2016.

Valencia says: "I'm very happy to be part of this great club and I'm hoping to do well. I'll be trying to do my very best.

"Being so close to the stadium here, I just want to go inside and start playing!"

Slight problem m8

Nevevr played anything more unjust and anger producing than fifa career mode, the level of scummery in the ai is unfathomable.

The Olympic stadium looks awful for a football atmosphere

Too big and circular because of it's original purpose
Flat stands

Still, better than having to pay to build your own stadium

Robson you fucking moron

I'm not sure of Spain's situation, but I'm fairly sure their taxes are more relaxed than England - not to mention that RM can just ignore any money concerns, unlike City and Liverpool. FFP might as well not exist when for Madrid
They changed the tax status for footballers recently so they're now paying ~50% tax.

If not, they should be able to sell a higher proportion of away tickets, being in London

They'll easily sell out all their games against London clubs in that case as well as games against the top 4~ but it's going to look very empty otherwise. Seems to me like delusions of grandeur to be moving into such a big stadium.

Upton Park is pretty choka bloka at 35k

Big support round there and lots of demand.

Oh fair enough then. I remember reading a few blog posts from WH fans not renewing their season tickets because they were fed up with Allardayce's negative football but maybe those are a drop in the ocean.

I don't know many Hammers but the few I do know fucking hate Allardyce. If they got a manager in who played actual football in yeah that club could go places.

It makes them more attractive to potential buyers. I think that's part of the reason why Red Bull were interested in them, though the way they change everything about the club is obviously a bad fit for any club.
