Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 12: Gwah, hah. Welcome to the Bowser's game.

Will there be a separate import Smash 3DS OT to share FCs and such? Also do newer Nintendo games usually come out on the eShop on the same day as retail or should I go ahead and order a physical copy?

It's 99.9% likely to be fake but has this been posted yet?

it is fake.

So, I just tallied my posts in Smash OTs so far and I only have about 200 posts.

I don't know why I feel disappointed about that.

Gyababababa! Falco looks like someone needs to beat the ugly out of him. I do like that my girl Dixie and my boy Roidley are included. I guess they didn't unlock Pac Man, Wolf, Bowser Jr, Lucas and Duck Hunt Dog yet.

That probably won't be necessary because Oric made a Google Doc with everyone's FCs. It's linked in the OP.

I feel like with only a month left until the Japanese release, we're not going to be getting any more character reveals outside of maybe one more newcomer video this month and then a final one to celebrate the release, maybe. The rest of the veterans will probably be secret, especially since there's so much more we've yet to see that isn't character related.

I'm wondering how long POTD will operate after the 3DS version releases.

IntelliHeath's gonna launch the 3DS OT with the Japanese launch. And Nintendo does release same day on eShop, but I'd still recommend going physical, as Nintendo still ties digital purchases to your system rather than your account.

Even if it is real, it doesn't actually reveal much since the full roster in not unlocked (no Pacman), it only confirms Ridley and Dixie as newcomers which are not much of a strech.
But it's fake lol

This is seriously my biggest fear, unless the changes are minor.

Everything about Brawl Wario just feels so right to me lol
Yeah, I'd agree with this. This is the one thing left that could actually upset me if it happened. I wouldn't mind if his up B or back air were changed though.

I would honestly like to see ROB because I feel he'd be the one we would least expect.
Yeah! That's pretty much the only reason why I included him. I mean, we got Toon Link and Lucario before Yoshi, so who knows.

I wouldn't mind them replacing the Wario Waft with something else, as long as it was a unique move (i.e., not the butt smash, which, despite being one of Wario's core moves in the Wario Land games, is just too similar to the Bowser Bomb and Kirby's down-B.) Maybe I'm just too uptight, but it kinda embarrassed me that the Waft was even in the game. Gotta keep it classy, Sakurai :/

I brought up this idea before, but MAN, I'd love it if Nintendo did third-party DLC packs.

For example, the Vs. Konami Pack:

- Snake, from Metal Gear (if he was cut in the first place)
- Goemon, from the Mystical Ninja series
- Simon Belmont, from Castlevania
- Bomberman!

It's mainly an excuse to include this music and this music and this music and this music and...

(That last one always makes me tear up, sniff)

I'd say: Make it like a "____ Fan's pack." Not overdoing it with characters, but adding a lot in trophies/music/stage representation. e.g.:

"Capcom Fans' Pack!
Capsule Computer's best and brightest come out to play in this add-on pack for SSBU/SSB3DS

-Character added: Ryu (Street Fighter) Alts: Alt 1 (SF2), Alt 1 (SF4), Evil Ryu, Ken-like clothes. Alternate skin: Morrigan (Darkstalkers)
-Assist Trophies added: Roll (MMClassic), Zero/Axel (MMX), Servebot (MML), Viewtiful Joe (VJ1), Frank West (DR), SonSon (SonSon)
-Stages added: Light Labs (Gimmick is teleportation pods strewn around the stage), Cyberspace (MMEXE, Basic stage with 3 layers of platforms.) Temple roofs (SF2), Raccoon City streets (RE general, Ground breaks away due to Zombie invasion below the stage), Courtroom (Phoenix Wright. Gimmick is that the background changes drastically depending on the witness's testimony. Witnesses include Arthur (GnG), Dante (DMC), Sakura (Rival Schools), Devilotte (Cyberbots), Ashura (Ashura's Wrath) and 1942 plane pilot (1942)
-Trophies added: "Brush up on more than 30 years of Capcom history with 75 added trophies!"
-Music added: "You ready to Rock and Roll? Or maybe you want some Blues and Gospel? 30 of the best tracks of Capcom's legacy have been added!"

Bonus: "Wanna Take You For A Ride" has been added as a selectable main menu track."

Then do similar ones for Sega and Namco. Konami would come in as a E3/Direct announcement and then end off the collaborations with a hodgepodge of partners (TecmoKoei, Atlus, Ubisoft and SquareEnix.). But of course, this basically means that we'd get a Capcom style upgrade release instead of Smash Brothers Brouhaha WiiZ/4DS. Cest la vie, I suppose.

What if you can customize Wario to be either Wario Ware or Wario Land focused. :0

Now that would be cool, especially since Wario Land has plenty of untapped powerups. His up-B could be Puffy Wario, and Flaming Wario would be an entertaining down-B: Wario sets himself on fire and rushes back and forth across the stage, burning whomever he touches.

His Up B is crap, I agree, but I actually kinda want it to stay just so he doesn't have a ridiculously good recovery, since he already has one of the best thanks to the Bike.

The only change I ask is his down smash haha.

"Exclusive to the 3DS version of Smash Bros, we now announce twin-screen-smash! You must control two characters simultaneously, one with the controls on the top and the other with touch controls on the bottom.
To help you learn this new way of playing, we'll demonstrate the new mode with two newcomers: Neku and Shiki!"
:3

I'm okay with this.

I think you guys are hyping yourself up too much for more changed veterans.
The veterans that that weren't revealed until pre-release for Brawl? Falco lost a good down B and Ganondorf ended up being the worst character and the game. Other than that, no character recieved different special moves (and I don't think normal moves, either, but I'm not too sure). So I wouldn't get too excited.

Ooh good call, that one needs to go. Pretty much anything would be better there.

I should be similarly reticent, but Bowser and Yoshi getting significant alterations while they were largely unchanged in Brawl is reason enough to hope.

Yet he is still one of the best characters in Brawl because there's other things that more than made up for his down B. And the changes to Ganondorf's moveset (like, actually different moves) were not the thing that made him bottom tier.

actually ive been thinking about this fr a while how many vetrans were actually revealed through potd? i know ike has but were there others?

True, although, Bowser and Yoshi were two characters that seemed like they were specifically meant to be buffed in Brawl (Yoshi's dojo page mentions a buff, and Bowser's mentions having a different flavor), and, well, look how that turned out.

I mean, Bowser seems to be a great character in Smash 4 so far...but I don't know if he'll seem all that great once the game is out.

Olimar, Luigi, Peach, Toon Link, Marth, Zelda, Dedede, Lucario, Diddy and Ike, so a total of 10 out of 25.
Out of the other 15, 9 were revealed in the initial E3 '13 reveal (Mario, DK, Link, Samus, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Bowser and Pit), 1 was revealed in his own trailer (Sonic), 4 in the Smash Direct (Zero Suit Samus, Sheik, Yoshi and Charizard), and 1 in a newcomer trailer (Falcon).
