I would be fine with that.

I doubt they'd sell though. Hummels is probably the best defender in the world, has played an incredible world cup and is only 25 years old.
Frankly even £40m don't really sound like a fair bargain if we look at David Luiz or James Rodriguez. Then again, maybe there's another laughable release clause.

There were reports in Spain this morning saying we were trying to hijack Milan's move for Diego Lopez.

Skeptical, but that would be a great move if it happens.

"Cillessen, Veltman and Blind will be part of the selection this sunday against Vitesse."

YES MOYES

Saint-Etienne drew Karabükspor for the Europa League play-off. Looks pretty easy on paper.

But then again, nobody thought we would be eliminated by Ejsberg last year, so I hope the guys learned their lesson...

I'd love for that to happen, I like Mignolet but he really doesn't suit the way we play at all. He doesn't come off his line when he needs to and doesn't have very good ball distribution. He mostly kicks the ball out rather than throwing it out like Reina used to, kicking would be fine if he was somewhat accurate but he isn't that accurate at all (he's also made 6 errors directly leading to goals IIRC). Mig really is just a short stopper and I think Lopez may be better at that than he is as well :/

Blind is still gonna leave though

I can only pray to Moyeezus that we have a worthy replacement in sight if Blind leaves. I would have been happy to take Mokotojo for that matter. And we should really ask a ridiculous fee, there's no need to sell. Let them pay up.

Dutch EL draws

Feyenoord - FC Zorya Luhansk
PEC Zwolle - Sparta Praag
PSV - Shakhtyor Soligorsk
FC Twente - Qarabag

what (except for Prague)

That's an interesting dynamic. The manager is willing to sell you, and had a player lined up to replace you - but you refuse to leave and want to fight for your spot.

It is admirable but it seems a decision has already been made about his future there.

Of course could just be that he'd rather wait it out than go to Sunderland...but yeah, seems like he's hanging on a little bit desperately.

Edit - Oh. Read Hixx's post and then read the story..where did they get that headline from :lol

Hendo did the same thing tbf.

I can't believe we're signing Vermaelen for 19M€. Holy fucking shit. Seriously, this shit is fucking ridiculous. FUCK. FUUUUUUUUUUUCK.

I'd imagine part of it is simply Liverpool's failure thus far to bring in another striker. With Lambert having struggled in preseason and Sturridge's known issues, he probably feels that were he to remain as third choice he'd have a good chance at a lot of game time and possibly resurrecting his Liverpool career, a la Hendo.

I think once Liverpool have a definitive option lined up to replace him, he'll accept his fate and depart. But with 3 weeks left in the transfer window he doesn't need to rush his decision

Christ. Please don't tell me Arsenal fans sing that about Sanogo.

Saw a tractor with five wheels today.

Finished ASOIAF the other day.

"Wake me up, Yaya Sanogo, we hope you're better than that cunt from Togo".

Catchy innit.
At Carrington for Manuel Pellegrini. Says Lampard, Demichelis, Kompany, Zabaleta, Sagna, Fernandinho and Aguero won't play v Arsenal.
YES

We made 5m profit on Vermaelen! Amazing work by Wenger and co. I think any CB we sign will be South American. Wenger did say in an interview earlier that the best defenders now come from there.

I'm looking for a new laptop atm too, I just want it to be able to run photoshop decently and maybe FM. But it is a fucking jungle. I would like a windows pc but it looks like Apple is the best way for my budget, yoga 2 looks pretty slick (and dat resolution), but battery time doesn't seem too hot which is one of the more important things for me.

I ran around for her and tried different laptops. We wanted SSD, around €600, lightweight and pretty fast. Some tips on models, I went through most brands:
- Lenovo IdeaPad U330p, but make sure it's a new one with the i5 4210u processor. That's a general advice, the easiest way to find out if the model is new is to check the processor. The 4210u was released in April I believe. We checked it out, it had a nice (I think backlit) keyboard but the screen had bad angles and pretty bad blacks. SSD though.
- Samsung ATIV Book 9 Lite for €600, I bought this one myself for cheaper. Not sure I'd pay €600 but it has SSD, but a really shit (quad-core) AMD processor. It's pretty popular but it doesn't work well for FM and probably not Photoshop.
- HP, looked around a lot but they look so weird and I never really found a good model compared to other brand.
- Acer, I didn't give a shit about Acer, they have a bad rumour regarding quality.
- Asus Zenbook UX32, these are actually pretty nice. Just make sure to check out the new ones for the right price, there's a shit ton of different Zenbook models. Keyboard seemed good. Unfortunately, with SSD they cost around €900, without they're around €600.
- Dell, never really looked at them.
- Toshiba Portege Z30, they have 1080p screens but I never found one to try in any store. Might be worth looking for, pretty good specs for that price.

There are plenty of PCs for €1100 or something, but when you can get a Macbook Pro for €1100 (€1000 even) with student discount, with an amazing screen and good specs, we just went for it in the end.

Barca wanted to sign him as an Alves replacement so there's something in there. Could you have seen Ashley Young being a WB?

Good point.

I see on whoscored.com too that he played in defensive positions.

He would be a great signing, especially since I see us changing from 352 to 433 at some point.

From the article, says fee would be around 30-35m. Also: "The agent flies to Manchester, the player has given the Ok and Barca - except twist - has backed the refusal of Alves out, without expecting anything in return."

According to Turkish newspaper @Amkspor, Lukas Podolski could be on his was to Galatasaray on a season long loan.

Get his 100k wages of the books for this year. He'll have one yer left next summer.
