I agree it's still awesome game quality wise, but I played the PC version so I remember it looking way cleaner/sharper.
Dan was kinda harsh on Tomb Raider though, sure the old Tomb Raider games were spinning their wheels for a while, but the original TR was pretty groundbreaking and came out two years before Ocarina of Time (which he brought up as a comparison)
Also, I'm pretty sure he's totally unaware of the Crystal Dynamics TR games.

Even if one thinks MGS is brilliant or childish nonsense in a narrative sense the gameplay mechanics are unmatched by any other series.

Tim's awesome. He's basically Brad if Brad did nothing but tell ingeniously bad puns.
He also loves anything to do with Resident Evil to a disturbing extent, and has John Drake-levels of tolerance for Dan's craziness.
Tim famously gave RE6 a 8.75/10.

There was this one time during a Super Replay when Tim got tired of Dan mocking him and left the room, and the next episode was recorded in secret so Dan wouldn't show up.

I quite liked RE6 myself, so I'm not bashing him for it . But I think Brad, Kevin from GS and Phil from Polygon even had a special podcast to tear it to shreds. It's a shame they didn't have Tim on.

Nearly every negative review of Resident Evil 6 was filled with inaccuracies about the mechanics, which is partly Capcom's fault for making the game so complicated and having literally no tutorial explaining the systems. It does tell you how to quick shot, but that's it.
There's a bit in the giantbomb quick look where Brad gets jumped by an enemy and he keeps going on about how terrible it is and Jeff says something like "You should be able to jump back right"? and Brad ignores the suggestion. It's just really weird how people are so eager to completely ignore those aspects of the game so they can slam it. Capcom makes very technical, involved action games and Resident Evil 6 is really in the same vein of Lost Planet 2, Monster Hunter, and God Hand(clover) in terms of being built around the very complex systems present.

Brad's review is one of my favorite examples of a game critic putting a bad game on blast without resorting to AVGN caca doodie bullshit, or even worse, just using a review of a bad game as an excuse to put your stand-up comedy skills to work. I remember there being a time where pretty much any Game Informer review that scored 5 or below was just a paragraph of jokes that would be interchangeable with any other of their negative reviews.

I turned somebody on to Giant Bomb today only by talking about Dan Ryckert. This man is what's best for business.
