Games Stolen From You

Monster Rancher Battle Card 2 along with my Gameboy Color straight out of the car.

Man, that frustrated me for a long time.

There was also a "friend" I knew that liked to try and steal my games when he was over, but I always caught him and shook him up. I punched him hard a good deal (in places not the face) to get it through his skull to stop.

WTF...

Well you can always count on family...

Worst my little sister has done is take my Pokemon card collection and trade all the rares holo's for energy card's. Thank god i found out fast enough and managed to get everything back when i went crazy on the kids that tricked her.

We can be assholes sometimes.

One time I stealthily traded all of my sister's legendaries from her Diamond and HG games to my Platinum copy. I don't she think she ever found out because she never confronted me about it. I swear I was planning on giving them back to her someday.

When I was around 9 or 10, a school friend heard me talking about just getting Ghosts N' Goblins on NES, and asked me if he could borrow it. I loved it but the game was so hard and he told me he would let me borrow his Legend of Kage, which I thought looked really cool. So the next day I bring the game in and he brings in Kid Nikki: radical ninja instead. He "couldn't find" Legend of Kage. So I take this lame game home and play it for a day. It sucks, and I keep asking him to bring the other game in or bring my Ghosts and Goblins back. Maybe a week later, he says that my game broke and I can just keep his Kid Nikki. So I pummeled him on the playground and held him down and forced grass into his mouth. I still want my game back, Todd Reeves you jerk.

a long time ago a so called friend of mine (we played basketball together many times )
I was 15

he stole my gamecube, og xbox, all the controllers and games (had over 30+ games , resident evil 4, hitman, smash etc)

and stole a suitcase full of information (he probably thought it was money or something) but it was my parent's marriage certificate (+20 years), and other information.

I went to school the next day and people in the back of the bus were laughing about the robbery. They told me who robbed me and I was shocked.

I confronted the piece of garbage the next day and he had new clothes, new pair of sunglasses, shoes etc. Of course he denied it and later my father talked to him (all my dad wanted was the marriage certificate). That scum still denied everything.

we got money from insurance for all the physical stuff stolen

the next day I confronted him again (ready for a fight if something happened) I asked him again for the certificate , next thing I know im staring at the end of a glock.

he started waving the gun , threatening me . I backed off and never saw him again
a few days later I heard that he robbed a pizza hut or a gas station/something that same day he pointed the gun a me. He shot the poor cashier and later he was caught in another county trying to rob somewhere else, probably in jail for life or at least 25+.

House broken into some years ago.

Stolen:
all my DS games
all my 360 games (except PS Universe)
all my imported PS2 games (this hurt the most)
all my PS3 games (plus the console)
entire blu-ray collection
some of my girlfriends jewellery

Everything I could remember got replaced on insurance, but some things I didn't remember until a year later.

I used to borrow my games and movies out all the time, I still do now but not as much but my kisses has a book on what everyone has and after a month she pesters them.

I have "lost" so much shit over the years it is incredible.

Seriously who borrowed my snes?

i tried to be a cool guy at school and took my fighting games over for after school stuff (it was the only i could get decent 2 players at the time). people would like to ask to see my games while i was in a heated fight (not very heated at all) and i finally get my round back and see that i lost my PS2 copy of MvC2, Bloody Roar 4, DoA2, one of my KOF games and i think a Mortal Kombat title deadly alliance i think.

i then learned to never trust anyone ever, also to be honest i was dumb to do that but i was desperate to play some fighting games.

They weren't directly stolen from me, but I lent a friend of mine REmake and RE0. His sister sold a bunch of his games to feed a habit, and mine were included in the bunch. I didn't see him for about a year (circumstance), and when I told him I rebought them he dragged me to a cash machine so he could give me what I paid for them.

I can't think of any other times I've had games go missing, but then again I can count on one hand the number of people I will trust to look after my games to the level I do. People love to leave cases on tables (I lent a DVD to my sister and her at the time boyfriend, and I got it back with a strain on the inlay/sleeve. It only cost me 2 pounds, but I was still pissed. I lent 2 Tenchu games to a friend in college and his little brother (or at least, that's who he blamed) scratched them up.

Fuck other people.

My copy of Super Mario Bros. 3 was stolen from me, by my kleptomaniac auntie. That bitch.
I took it back. How did I know it was mine? I bit it in a specific place and the mark even matched my tooth when I laid it in there.

I did that to all my games. Don't ask, I was young. That was my idea of a watermark, back then. Hahah..

My friend "borrowed" Uncharted 2 from me back in 2011 and still hasn't given it back. He still claims he's going to return it next time we see each other.

I've already repurchased it digitally so it's kind of just for comedy at this point.

Not me but my sister stole and sold my brother's rare game collection. Just off the top of my head he had sealed copies of Xenoblade, The Last Story, and Metroid Prime Trilogy. Lots more.

I have a sealed copy of the first original Japanese release of The Last Story.

How much do you think I can get for it?

I let a friend borrow my original PS1 copy of SOTN like 10 years ago…he claimed he lost it when he moved a few years ago…larrydavidokstare.gif

In high school my friend was dating this girl. He had a bunch of my SNES games and for some reason hr let her borrow them. I was ok with it because we all hung out and stuff so not really a big deal.

Then they had a really big nasty classic high school breakup. Like a week later I went by her house to get my games (she wasn't returning my calls at this point).

She came to the door with them and started just whipping them out into the street. I raised my arm to block her after the first one (without touching her) and she slapped me hard in the face and continued throwing, went back inside without a word when she was done.

Donkey Kong Country 1 and 2, Yoshi's Island, Link to the Past, Chrono Trigger...all busted open and destroyed in the street.

Called her dad the next day to explain the situation and see what could be done about it. He said that they would give me nothing because his daughter told him I tried to hit her in my car in the school parking lot while "flipping her the bird". I didn't even have a driver's license.

My friend is still Facebook friends with her too. Thirteen years later I still hate that bitch. Lol

Black flag a couple of months ago. Sadly I couldn't tell you who stole it as there was more than one person, all hooded up when they broke in my house. Sadly, they took the ps4 that encased it, too.

My cousin stole my copy of Soul Blade to help fund his fatal addiction to Heroin when I was around 14.

The worst part is that I actually saw the game tucked into the back of his jeans as he was making his way out, but was too scared to do anything about it until it was too late.

Super Mario Galaxy, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, one disc from Final Fantasy VII's original black box run. Never got my copy of WipEout 2097 back from a friend. Generally it is a case of me lending things to people and then not getting them back, but now I have more of a mind set that once I've enjoyed something I'd rather just give it away or sell it, rather than expect things back.

Dog chewed up GTA: Vice City too.
I took GTA San Andreas to a friends house to play it. I stopped speaking to him not too soon after and never got it back from him and had to buy a replacement copy.
This was me, and years later I actually mailed the game back even though we're not on talking terms. I have a DVD that I've been meaning to watch for about 4 years, need to send it back to the dude.

About a year ago I brought my psp with persona 3 to a family outing. Later on back home it had completely disappeared. Searched for three days, finally assume someone stole it. ( not someone from my family though, I trust them)

I have since replaced the hardware, but the part that hurt the most was the 17 hour persona 3 save, the crisis core save, ff disgaea, ff tactics and Valkyrie profile lenneth saves. Probably 100 hours or so of gaming.

Pro tip: regularly back up your mobile saves

When I was nine, some dudes broke into our house and snatched my nes and the entire game collection of me and my brother. That were 68 games with a complementary club nintendo mario suitcase.

Cried for days when I found out it was gone.. One day I will have my revenge!

Don't really remember ever having a game stolen from me, but an old acquaintance of mine (a long story) broke into my house and took off with a PS3 a few years ago. He skipped town immediately, and I never managed to track him down. Doubt he even wanted the thing for himself, he probably sold it off somewhere...

I had my DS lite in a case with several of my favorite games stolen in 2010... I lost Shiren the Wanderer, Phantasy Star Zero, Retro Game Challenge, Pokemon Heart Gold, Puzzle Quest, Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes, Henry Hatsworth, Gunstar Super Heroes, Breath of Fire 2, and more that I've forgotten.

I rebought most of them, but I want those original save files... Over 100 hours on a couple of them... Still so salty... My favorite console.

What makes it worse is I am fairly sure I know who did it and he was a friend of mine. We were the only two people on the dorm when it was stolen and it was on the day we were moving out. I asked him about it over the phone later on and he got real defensive and never came back to the college. I haven't heard from him since...

I got burglarized in 2001 when I came home and found a window smashed in and every single game, system, and movie I owned was gone.

They never found who did it (big fucking surprise) but because I got hit so hard and they didn't steal anything else except for money lying around in my siblings' and mom's rooms, I am all but positive I know who it was.

In our group of friends I had growing up, there was one guy I hated and he hated me. We could not stand each other but there was enough of an other-friend buffer that we could manage. I got robbed a week after our best friend came in from out of town and no one wanted to do what the guy I hated wanted to do but they were all for doing the things I suggested (because I have taste). He was silently furious with me though, you could see it in his ginger face. That day he was also missing from school and he absolutely refused to let me in his disgusting, cigarette-reeking house ever since.

My other friends said they couldn't find any of my stuff at his house but I'll always have that suspicion. I can't help it. It's definitely paranoia but that's what happens when you get screwed over like that and no one answers for it.

Someone stole (or got lost) my Super Mario All-Stars for SNES. Even though the home has been torn apart, I still think about that game. :o

Got my Nintendo 64, Pokemon Snap and Pokemon Stadium stolen because I was dumb and had someone I thought was a friend borrow it. He ended up moving about a week later.

Had my old-school GB w/Pokemon Blue stolen from my locker (inside my backpack no less!) in Middle School.

Never did figure out who took it, but they definitely knew what they were looking for.

My friend in 2nd grade lent me his Super Mario World and I never gave it back. This was in like 96. I play it all the time. We still joke that I stole it from him whenever we see each other, haha. I'm pretty sure he doesn't really play games anymore though.

Someone stole my Japanese import of SoulSilver and there's only 2 people who knew I had it with me. The one I still talk to (great friends with the guy) says that he didn't take it but he's a huge liar so I still suspect him.

I also technically stole a copy of FireRed from someone because they somehow left it on my porch. Still don't know the person who it belonged to, but thanks for introducing me to Pokémon!

I had the CE FFXII guide with Fran on the cover. I never got that back. I was a little bit of a rebel, but I think somehow everything caught up in a hury. Id lend things and never hear from that person again. People don't seem to give two cents. They'd take something then destroy it if they didn't think it was worth money.

A very trouble making kid in HS stole this kids new GBA with SMW. Looking back, those days sucked. I sold my friends copy of a game once, but I felt bad. I ended up giving him a new PS2 slim (white), but knowing him, he probably gave it away. They always try and make a point or a huge case.

A 'friend' stole a copy of Sonic Adventure 2, I didn't even like the game and didn't realise until I went to a local second hand games store and saw my copy on the shelf, I know it was my copy because the case had a distinctive crack in it.

Stupid fucker sold it to the one place I might actually see it. He denied it, I kicked the shit out of him (not trying to be internet tough guy, this was 13 or so years ago when still a teen) and I reported him to the store and they returned my goods, which I never played again anyway. Never spoke to him again either.

Had some other piece of crap who sold his own N64s rumble pack, I found out long after it was for drug money. When his mom questioned him where it had gone he said I stole it and his mom kicked me out the house and rufused to give me my controller and memory card I happened to bring with me. Police didn't care about this theft which she even admitted to, but Nintendo did and sent me a brand new controller and memory card. Props to Nintendo on that one.

Back in high school there was a janitor we all liked, he seemed like a cool dude and always joked around with us, one day we were talking about video games and he mentioned he had never played GoldenEye for N64 and so I felt it was my civic duty to loan him my original copy, then a week later the cops came and arrested him, he was wanted in eight states for grand theft. Never saw the game again.

Oh one more, I love my middle brother, but he's messed up. He's stolen dozens of my games and broken them, lost them, or sold them for cigarette money. He lies right to my face about it, but like dude I've known you your whole life, I can tell when you're lying haha.

RIP Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis and Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes...

Command & Conquer: The First Decade. Not really stolen, but borrowed and scratched to hell. Was a gift from my parents like 5 years ago or so. After asking for a replacement I lost contact with him.

Had the same problem with a friend borrowing C&C: Red Alert. Never lent anyone my games ever again.

I let this lady friend of mine borrow my copy of The Last of Us. Took me weeks to get it back.

Her excuse?

"Once I give the game back, you won't talk to me anymore."

Crazy dame took my game hostage.

I have an empty Mario Galaxy box here. I lent it to a colleague and didn't check to see if the disk was in it. he of course moved on before i realized it.

and I had a friend loan me a few ps games, then he moved away without telling me and then I was like, wtf do I do with these? never heard from him again, no idea where he moved to. that was in college, so people would just not come back after a semester and you would have no idea what happened to them.

Some people have short memory with their games because they aren't that big of fans. This is why you don't trust coworkers with your games and never lend systems out to people. Some people are shady as hell.

In middle school there was one of the booksale events or whatever, they had a copy of RollerCoaster Tycoon and I had purchased it to give to my older brother as a gift, I left it in my locker and it was broken into and stolen that weekend.

Middle school sucked..

not from me, but...

... never forget

I had my first DS (original) stolen from me during high school years back. And I know how did it, it was some little, shithead freshmen. Soon after I got a DS Lite, and "his DS" broke during the holiday. Karma is great.

a really long time ago, late 90s, when I was in the Military/College(can't remember as I wasn't really home for 3 years, quick visits during random weekends and holidays). My little brother asked me if he could lend his friend my Snes and some games, stupid me said yes. As long as he reminded his friend how important those games where to me.

The years passed, I finished my mandatory time in the army, settled in a nice 2 room apartment, had a good part time job while I studied, got enough money to both buy a used car and a PS1. Remember how much I loved to play FF6 as I was loving the shit out of FF7. Called my parents and asked if they still had all my stuff left. Awesome parents had kept everything safe. Dig through every box and couldn't find my Snes, found the bazooka and a few random games but not much else. Ah perhaps my little brother had them, called him up. he dodged the question saying he didn't remember, maybe, no, yes then ding ding he lent them to his Albanian friend. He was going to get it back to me.

A few week pass and my little brother never calls back, drive to him and ask him what's up. Apparently this kid who he lent my Snes to had moved back to Albania without giving anything back.

I'm still pissed when I think about it. Was really considering trying to find his address through relatives he still had here but dropped the idea when I realised that he had come here from a shitty environment and was forced to go back to it. So if it gave him some joy he could keep it. So I took my brothers Snes instead. So I booth lost a Snes and "stole" a Snes.

All of my NES games and system were stolen while my brother was moving. I had let him borrow it, and while they were loading vehicles someone stole the box and all of the games.

Literally every single item of his was fine in that vehicle, just the one box was stolen.

When I was a teenager my mom had an old high school friend that had kids a little bit younger than me. One day they came over to my house and were impressed with my game collection so they asked to borrow a few of my GameCube games. I think I let them borrow Animal Crossing, Luigi's Mansion, Super Mario Sunshine and some others. A few weeks later my mom and her friend stopped keeping in contact for whatever reason and by the time I saw those kids again (about a year later) they told me they traded those games to GameStop. I asked them why they did that and they said they "forgot" that they were borrowed. I was so pissed because those were some quality games that I enjoyed a lot.

Another story I have doesn't involve games being stolen from me, but just as worse. When I was a kid I had a Sega Dreamcast at my grandparent's house. It was in the spare bedroom and I loved my Dreamcast a lot so I would keep it nice and clean in there. One day some of my relatives had to stay at my grandparent's house for a while due to some financial issues. The two kids that lived in the spare bedroom was a boy two years younger than me and his toddler brother. Since I'm very protective of my game systems I wanted to take the Dreamcast and its games to my house for safekeeping, but I felt bad for them because of their situation so I decided to keep the console and games there instead. By the time they left my grandparent's house a month later I checked on my Dreamcast and was horrified. They completely scratched up about 90% of my Dreamcast games (Marvel vs Capcom, Shenmue and Sonic Adventure among the casualties) and the controllers were full of grease, buttons sticking and the control stick loose. Luckily my Dreamcast was still in decent condition but I was so upset that people (even family members) can mistreat other people's things like that.

Top Bottom
