Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 12: Gwah, hah. Welcome to the Bowser's game.

I'm still not sure what sort of drugs Yuzo Koshiro was on when he made the Brawl Norfair track. The real madness starts in the second half.

I actually like this track a lot. However, I never heard it a whole lot because I always had Felix's Theme/Doom Dragon turned on max in Norfair.

Fun fact, I made a bet with my friend that Doom Dragon would be a song in brawl out of nowhere once. When we heard that Issac wasn't even in the game, he held that shit over me. Once I heard this was in the game though, I made him pay up. It was priceless (and honestly a bet I'm surprised I won)

Both Mute City themes in Smash are my least favorite versions of the song lol.

My favorite is either the Nintendo Land one or this sweeeeet jazz rendition that came out of nowhere

Whooa, that jazz is great. I think I have a new favorite arrangement of that track now!

It also makes me hope we get a non-traditional arrangement of F-Zero tracks in the new Smash. I know it fits the source material well to do mostly electric guitar/metal covers, but after two games of basically just that -- Shotgun Kiss aside -- I'd like to see (or should I say hear?) something more inventive.

Personally, I'm looking forward to Rhythm Heaven tracks the most. Here's hoping for a Rhythm Heaven stage
and character

I'm laughing so hard right now because as I listen this describes it perfectly.
Seriously. Holy fuck :lol :lol
Galaxy music is going to be so good. One song I don't get see mentioned much is the Buoy Base Galaxy Theme. The section at 1:14 is so fucking good; I feel like this song would be ripe for a more upbeat Smash remix.
This is easily my favorite track in Galaxy. I'm really hoping it plays on the Galaxy stage because it's so perfect for Smash.

Lip. Lip so much. I can count the number of games with playable fairies worth mentioning on one hand and I love fairies :3

Is it bad if I'm more excited about the new music possibilities in the new Smash right now than I am about new characters? I'm pretty much completely satisfied with the roster now, sans one desired newcomer, and I'm thinking back to how overwhelmed and excited I was when Brawl's ridiculously amazing soundtrack first started getting uploaded to YouTube shortly before release.

I didn't think Brawl's soundtrack would get topped or that they'd even bother trying to one-up it because of the sheer work required. But as soon as I heard that the audio director for SoulCalibur V was going to be in charge of audio for the new Smash, I knew that there was a chance that this new soundtrack could surpass the old. Indeed, judging from the menu theme and the few tracks I've heard from the tournament coverage, I think this new game is well on its way to being one of my favorite game OSTs. And of course, when I hear the thrilling new main theme or, say, the amazing big band cover on the Mushroom Kingdom U stage, I start hoping really hard that certain tracks will make it in and get that same kind of love, more so than characters, even. And now that Mega Man is in the game there's a whole plethora of great tracks I'd love to hear arranged.

At this point, I have a feeling I'm going to feel a stronger roller coaster of heart-rising-and-sinking when I finally see the list of stage music than I am when I see the finished roster!

Haha, is that really you? I could see casting you as a young Captain Falcon in an F-Zero movie. It's a flashback scene where he discovers his true passion in life...is to pawnch

Yep, that's me back in college when I realized that I lived only a half hour away from one of seven F-Zero AX arcade machines in America.

I've gotten fond of Duck Hunt Dog, and I only had his game as a kid. I liked what I saw of Muddy Mole. Sheriff might be a good pick if only to get a fighter who primarily uses his gun. Samus and Mega Man use their guns for only like one or two attacks each.

Geez, only 7? I never got a chance to play that in the arcades, but I spent far too much time trying (and eventually succeeding) to beat that damn story mode.

Dude, the seat in the cabinet would lift up when the race began and tilt along with the car. It's a wild arcade machine.

I was also able to bring my memory card and plug it in to unlock the AX cup in GX the easy way.

nice eye color

by which I mean nice camera

You misunderstand. My eyes are merely filled with the burning flames of a champion.

Speaking of which, are there any particular Brawl tracks that you guys want to see back in Smash 4?

For me, both Warioware Inc and the Warioware Medley are tracks I'm particularly fond of. I absolutely adore the little music in Warioware, and while I was disappointed the stage mostly consisted of songs (and it's the ones that I don't really like much save for Mona Pizza), I felt like the two choices here were amazing. ESPECIALLY the medley. I LOVE that Spitz and Dribble's song play in that one...even though it should have been its own track. :y

Snowman is another one that I really like, though it's a shame it's played on an awful stage. Either way, Snowman is probably my favorite track in the Mother series, and it's one that's played in all three games. I absolutely adore the Brawl remix and I'd like for it to play on a good stage lol.

That's so cool! Shame it was so limited in the States.

His World (Instrumental) is really, really good, which is surprising when you consider the game it's from. I don't think it needs a new arrangement, though I would still love to hear one.

The only one I can think of that I'm partial to and would not want rearranged is Super Sonic Racing. Of course, another track from Sonic R would be great too (Back in Time pls).

I feel like the entire Brawl Metroid song catalogue needs to be redone. Can't think of a single track I'd keep; even Ridley's arrangement isn't that good and I'd prefer the Other M version (which is confirmed anyway). Some of the choices are just plain inexplicable too, like using the Metroid Prime theme with the distracting narration that you can't actually hear properly during a battle. And a lot of the most popular Metroid tracks (Kraid's Lair, the Tunnel, Red Brinstar, lower Norfair, Phendrana Drifts, Nightmare, Torvus Bog, Dark Samus, Rundas, etc.) were missing.

Compared to series like Zelda, Kirby, DK, and F-Zero, where most of the most popular and iconic tracks were selected or got arrangements, it's really noticeable. The soundtrack didn't forget Gerudo Valley or Gourmet Race or Gangplank Galleon.
