Honestly feels so good to laugh at this now. Last season was depressing.

Oh and Inbetweeners 2 is an abomination folks

Gah top of the page

Ummmm

Capital One cup on tuesday. It begins again
Was it?

Was looking forward to seeing it after hearing that it was better that the first. Loved the series, not so much the movie.

Oh, and switch to 100pp, peasant.

You really think United will sign a player like Blind with that attitude? If he goes to United he'll be a starter.

I only saw him play at the WC, apart from knowing that he can play multiple positions I have no idea how world class he is or isn't. But I guess from the reaction to my post, he is pretty good.

:|

Even though our defense was shit I have to say: Coutinho and Sterling sure are great.

Also a bvb "fan world" building was opened yesterday (8m euros investment) - way better than the little fan shop we had before.

Also Hummels became the new captain so he's going nowhere, lol
(for now, that is)

You'll get your revenge in the CL :P

Klopp is boss btw. Desperate for him not to move to City, Man Utd or Chelsea

Wish I'd watched the game. Having one of those days I get a few times a year where I just can't seem to stay awake, slept from 7am to 3pm, and 4pm to 6:30pm and now feel like shit. Thoughts of Raheezus will see me through

fake edit: damn, loads of videos of the full match, loads of just the goals, no extended highlights on YT :(

Few little things from watching the goals

1) Coutinho and Sturridge's relationship is a bit eerie
2) No chance Lovren is given that much space in a competitive match
3) I love the fact that Sterling is happy to just slow the play down and wait for a pass to present itself
4) Even though they conceded, I like that Dortmund carried on playing when the ball went out instead of standing there waiting for a decision. Should happen every time in every team, but it often doesn't.

Pleased with today's result. Well done. Hopefully Kos's injury isn't serious. Also not too thrilled with Arteta being captain. It's going to be him and Jack at the back midfield I guess :s

It's rubbish

Relies of big set piece toilet humour and has very little of the subtly or innate British rubbishness which made the series relateable or so funny. There are moments which remind you of the series, but most of it is so played out or just over the top and just looking for cheap laughs.

Kurt Zouma, Alvarez Balanta, Phil Jones, Doria, Marquinhos, Varane,

I recommend this guy, he's the cheapest of the bunch(I don't remember Doria's price tag in the first 2 years) and has insane potential. Also he can play LB competently and that is always a position I've had trouble filling.

Not as if you're out of the woods.

The primary problem is the lack of Ferguson and a couple of squad deficiencies. Once LVG loses his first game then we'll see things escalate again, just like what happened with Moyes.

Players and fans heads will go.

Rodgers on Markovic: "He may be around for Southampton, if not the next game he will."

hmm

Not really

100% really

Although United fans don't really properly understand what football's actually like. They've been molly-coddled with a legendary manager for their entire existence. They didn't anticipate Moyes, and what can happen to mortal managers when things go a bit wrong and players get a little unhappy.

Same will happen with LVG. Welcome to the real world. You've only been here a year so I hope you like it.

Not sure about that, Skrtel scored a lot from similar positions last year. There are some terrible defences in the league :P

Really unimpressed with City. I expected City to smash Arsenal, but Arsenal were very impressive.

I like the look of Chambers. Sanchez is a wonderful player, still disappointed we didn't get him.

Only difference is that LVG has a resume worth believing in and Moyes didn't. Not to mention the trainings are already much better than what Moyes offered.

When a shitbag like Moyes, with no resume that can win over a PL medal filled squad, has you working less with the ball and has you running more, you can't help but lose faith in the coaching staff.

Sky were filming Rory Mac sat in the club house he picked up his iPhone and put his pin in. Wonder if its the same as his debit card.

Only conceded 4 goals this pre-season. 1 game to go. It's not that bad, considering they've had to adjust to a new system. Though I do think we need a better, on the ball, CB.
They are all prone to injury and haven't been tested in a competitive match yet.

The likes of Madrid, for example, looked well off being fit.

We need numbers before we even get into how good they are. It's crazy that the season is a week away and we have 3 "established" centre halves. Embarrassing management again.

I think we will get Blind to play LCB and then Michael Keane will be promoted to the first team squad.

Firstly the fans need to re-align their expectations with where the club are at. Be a hard one to take and it may take a while but first of all they have to, en masse, realise that they might lose quite a few games in a season.

Then a manager needs to come in and build something. Do I think LVG is that man? No. I think he'll have United more competitive than last season but I don't see him at the club longer than two seasons and I don't think he's got off to a brilliant start with the squad as thin as it is.

You have one left back.

I still think we could lose to Swansea, PL teams are not going to give us the space we have had this pre-season, we have been a little spoiled in that regard save the Liverpool game where we looked weak as fuck when pressed.

Whatever happens I just hope LvG didnt leave it too late when assessing and coming to realise what a quick and physical league this is.

Can't say the defense in a new system gives me confidence. Despite only giving up 4 goals (3 of which were pens), it was still pre season. Players are not in form and it's not their strongest lineup.

Don't mistake my previous posts as thinking the club is perfect with LVG. I'm only expecting and hoping for a top 4 finish. We can very well lose the first couple of games, but I know LVG has a direction he wants to take the club and we can see progress on the pitch already compared to the previous couple of seasons. It wasn't just results that made United fans and players lose faith in Moyes. It was the way he carried himself, his trainings, his lack of trophies, and the lack of any style on the football pitch that made him a fraud.

In the 3-5-2 system, we have two left wide players in Shaw and Young. So although one lb sounds bad, it's not as grim under this formation. Had it been a traditional back 4 you would have a point that 1 lb isn't enough.

Or not.

Michael Keane is very close to completing a loan move to Cardiff City, final decision to be taken on Monday. [wales online]

Blackett then!

Without the defense getting better we will struggle to finish 4th.

I don't trust Young to carry his form.
Valencia isn't good enough anymore.

In our 5-3-2, the players in the 5 part are not good enough. Evans is only decent lad in there

Jeremy Wilson @JWTelegraph · 22m
Wilshere looked more like player from 2010-11 today. Suspect that is main reason central midfield now less of transfer priority #afc

Never wanted a DM anyways.

Jacky Boy Rambo midfield duo like we dreamt of years ago.

It better not be.

We need at least 1 defender. Blackett and Keane both looked good pre-season and I hope they're given a chance in the COCup games. Blackett brought a calmness to the defence in the 2nd half vs Liverpool, even when getting pressed. Helps to have a left footed player playing on the left.

Evans in middle?
Smalling on right?
A new LCB

I still don't like Smalling at RCB, but Jones makes too many rash decisions. I don't know, wish we got both a new LCB and RCB.

Or not.

Blackett then!

Now is the time for Thorpe to step up. I always rated him higher than Keane. Keane's reputation is only bigger than Thorpe's because he's taller, spent time out on loan, and scores goals for England's u21 team. Thorpe's been unlucky that he was injured as soon as he went out on loan last season.

He's been better than Keane for a while now. He's a better defender with less mistakes in him and is better at distributing the ball.

As for Blackett, I never really rated him, but LVG must like him because he's left footed.
