Ugh watching those Chelsea highlights.... Zouma yet again caught sleeping, not marking anyone. He really has looked bad in pre season.

Chelsea's got the league on lock, bae. Cesc looks like he's gonna beast this season and Costa is the perfect Chelsea cunt.

Still unbelievable to me that Arsenal passed on Cesc. Nothing wrong with stockpiling players

Add Cleverley to your list. He'll be happy to sit on the bench and sell shirts...

I'm more optimistic about Arsenal than I have been in a long, long time.

We have a much more balanced squad that seems to gel well.

The lack of depth at CB (and lack of quality up front) worries me though.

I'm reasonably confident too; but you can't say it's well balanced and then point out a lack of depth at CB and up front.

I honestly think we're fine up front. Giroud, Campbell and Podolski will net us many goals along with Theo, Alexis, Santi and Ramsey all chipping in with goals as well.

Was talking about well balanced in terms of the relationships between the players on the pitch. As much as I hate the term, we're no longer a "one man team" as we have sometimes relied on individual brilliance too much in the past. Everyone is in the same boat and rowing in the same direction.

Ramsey!

surely Campbell upfront will be a lot better than Sanogo, why didnt Wenger try him out so far. He was great during the WC, very good control and pace. What happened to the Khedira rumors?

I think the same. I think Sanchez fills the role of the person who will create something out of nothing when needed.

I'm more concerned about our lack of defensive cover (Chambers was brought in to cover RB, now he's being talked up as the 3rd choice CB AND DM cover? What?)

Think we're definitely a bit short there - and with Kos injured/Per not in the frame yet, it could hit us in the face as soon as the first game against CP.

Also, Flamini isn't good enough and Arteta isn't quite there as a DM (even though I loved the lego haired man).

Campbell isn't an out and out striker for mine; certainly not in our system. Maybe in a team that plays 4-4-2 he would be.

Holy shit, I was drinking at a bar this afternoon and I found another Brazilian Chelsea fan there! But he hates Mou, told him to fuck himserlf, Mou is the best

"Vermaelen left us and had the choice between two massive clubs," added Wenger. "That means these clubs have looked everywhere and that means it's not easy to find someone like Thomas.

"I allowed Vermaelen to leave before the end of the season because he was not playing regularly, he behaved outstandingly the whole season with dignity. It's difficult to maintain that kind of player at the top level if he doesn't play regularly.

"I'm quite grateful and wish him very well because his behaviour was outstanding even if he didn't play."

Arsène Wenger on Thomas Vermaelen. Vermaelen should be held in very high esteem by all Arsenal fans. Guy have his best for us, acted with dignity and pride, glad Arsene publicly acknowledged that. Should Barca come to the Emirates I would hope that Vermaelen gets a standing ovation as he deserves one.

Yeah, I have no problem with him leaving. He always acted very well and represented the club when required. Same with Sagna although that hurts more.

Most other players can fuck off.

Henry: Said he wanted to finish his career at Arsenal all the while knowing he had agreed to join Barca the next summer.
Flamini: leaving for more money and to join a bigger club.
Cesc: behaved awfully to force through his move to Barca
RVP: Cunt level
Cashley: Always the hardest. A proper Arsenal fan growing up and went through the youth ranks.
Song: Owed Arsene everything and jumped ship first time another club came calling.
Toure: I didn't mind him leaving, seems Gallas was a right cunt and he wanted nothing to do with him so wanted out.
Nasri: I don't hold much of a grudge against Nasri. He never claimed to be a fan of the club and saw Man City as a career progression.
Clichy: Not much of a grudge.

We have evolved. We have Ramsey now.

I like how Anelka set the precedent for those transfers and yet he rarely ever gets listed. Wonder how different things would've been if Wenger had put his foot down back then.

Bellerin is getting promoted this year. Will be 2nd choice RB. Chambers is more of a CB in Wenger's eyes. That he hasn't played RB in a single preseason game is very telling.

I didn't want to list too many pre 2006. Hard to know where the blame is with him. He was just a young kid and no attachment to the club plus his brothers kept telling him to switch to Madrid.

Well we kept winning after Anelka left and were actively recruiting top level talent after he left. All the transfers Shanks listed were during our banter years, when Wenger kept telling us we were looking for super quality whilst signing players like Park etc. Doubt we'll ever see a player exodus like that in the next decade now that we're no longer commercially hamstrung.

What made me mad about van Persie leaving was him saying he didn't have anyone to feed him chances which is part of why he left yet and yet we had just signed Santi. It sucks because imagine he had stayed and we had him and Giroud. Obviously he probably would have hindered Giroud, but we could have been winning the next year had he not cunted off to United.

Song we pushed out of the club as he acted like a twat over money so when Barca came calling we were keen on the deal. Clichy we didn't really make much of an effort to keep him. The others I agree with.

Sagna stings a bit. Issue is if we don't win the league I'd want Liverpool to win it.

United - RVP is a cunt so don't want him enjoying any success

City - Want Sagna to suffer and wish he signed. So they can fuck off.

Chelsea - Fabregas can get fucked. So can Mourinho. Neither deserve any success.

That leaves either us or Liverpool.

Fuck that. I'm a selfish bastard and don't want anyone to win it but us.

Also, thinking about Sagna, it really pisses me off. At first, I was okay with it and he had been at the club a long time and he was a good player, but he seriously could have gone to PSG or Monaco or something. Wouldn't be surprised if PSG had made him an offer and he chose City instead. Not only that, but hearing that we offered him a 3 year deal, which is unheard of at Arsenal for a player his age, is crazy. IDK I guess he can take his paycheck and play his 15-20 games this season and I hope City wins fuck all. It would make me so happy to win the league this season to rub it in the face of all those smug cunts who left us.

All those "smug cunts" won plenty after leaving Arsenal, so I doubt they would care too much.

Good to have you back just in time for a new season.

Thanks bro! I'm gonna try to calm myself down a lil. Not sure how it happened but I guess some people didnt like my style of posting in the last months.

Not like I did something on purpose but I guess many felt offended? I don't know.

Still good to be back again

Still can't believe City got that much work from Arsenal. Makes me feel better about picking Sanchez over Toure in fantasy. I know applying confirmation bias from preseason games is dumb as shit, but I just can't help myself.

I didn't feel offended and not sure why anyone would but who knows.

Just want as many football fans back as possible before the season starts.

Sorry, I reported you for a lack of Asian gifs recently. I need at least a dozen a day to keep me happy. :p

I dunno man, somewhere along the way he fucked up and picked Arsenal. :(
Funny how his Arsenal posts seem to care more about Madrid then...

I look around the blog posts and Wenger's comments and am very pleased to read I wasn't the only one impressed with Chambers performance despite the shaky parts in the first half. Can't wait to see more of him as the season develops as Wenger pretty much confirmed that Chambers will be 3rd choice centre back.
