Not because it's pink, but rather because the ratio for female Jigglypuff is higher, and the fact it is given the female trainer's hat that heavily indicates that Sakurai thinks of it as at least feminine in nature.

Fair enough. Except for Mewtwo, whose gender is ambiguous at least, Lucario, Charizard and Greninja heavily lean towards being male (as the vast majority of 87.5% are).

ROB still could be argued to be included because it's a genderless toy, even though most people attribute a masculine article to it because the name "Rob" is male. That said, ROB is only its Western name (and an abbreviation of Robotic Operation Buddy), in Japan it's simply Family Computer Robot.
 
At this point Jigglypuffs inclusion in the Smash bros. games isn't about how popular it is in the pokemon games anymore, it has more to do with its cult status like Captain falcon.
 
I've always thought of Mewtwo as physically androgynous but identifying as one gender or the other - I imagine it can choose what "voice" it "speaks" in telepathically, and would choose whichever felt appropriate. So the original movie Mewtwo (and the Melee one) would be genderless-identifying-as-male, while the new movie's one is genderless-identifying-as-female.

I've put too much thought into this.

I don't know about that. Technically Magnemite is actually part of the "Gender Unknown" egg group while Mewtwo isn't.

People always talk about this scene and link to this scene to how awesome Ike is, but this scene does absolutely nothing for me. I don't think it's badass or exciting or anything. I think context is important.

I like Ike, but again, this scene doesn't impact me at all.

Just for your birthday, Sakurai announces that the current roster on the website is the final one.

They never actually finished the other newcomer videos because the team spent all their time at the gym, getting cut.

Man runs into middle of heavily armed crowd, grabs falling woman, and uses a great sword in one hand to attack other dudes. It's pretty badass. It's also one of the few cutscenes Ike is in, lol. There's only about 8 cutscenes in the game, and while he's got a cool one at the end, it's a pretty huge spoiler.

The context is that this is the first time in Radiant Dawn you've seen Ike and his band again since playing PoR. You play as an entirely different set of characters for the first half.

Excluding Mia and Mist, I thought the VA in that game was alright.

Now POR voice acting? Ouuuuuuuuuuuuch.

I am so glad they've gotten around using actual voice actors since then.
