PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | August 2014

The bolded has the best chance due to them having an iOS version already to be ported to Vita :). That would be a great fit for Vita too; the system has a lack of turn-based stratage games, so that would be nice :D.

I could also see Bioshock 1 being ported to Vita as well. Between Bioshock being promised to come to Vita ages ago and the fact they got the game running on iOS (not to mention the success of Borderlands 2 on Vita), that also has a good chance of coming to Vita too :).

Did BL2 actually succeed all that much on the Vita?

I'd really like getting a Bioshock on the Vita, even if it's a late port. I'm not into strategy games so XCOM is not something that I'll like all that much.

I'm not expecting all that much though. I'll sure watch the conference but I'm trying to not get hyped.

Well, didn't the Vita bundle of that sell really well? I guess it was due to Sony not shipping enough bundles, giving the illusion of high sales, but still, the bundle selling is a sign that the game was a great fit for the platform :).

Either way XCOM is more likely then Bioshock due to how they can optimize that for Vita more (the game is less demanding....I think :l). Besides, they REALLY downgraded things to get the first Bioshock to run on iOS (the game reportedly runs at sub-30FPS on iOS with lots of effects removed and textures much more lower-quality then the Xbox 360 version), so with Unreal Engine on Vita already not super great.....the game will run like crap on Vita X(.

Got back from Japan last week and went a little crazy with the Vita haul
All those games.

The game next to Infinite Stratos 2(on the right side). What's the name of that game? o.o

Eiyuu Senki, don't google it at work. IS2 was a guilty pleasure purchase but I have no excuse for Eiyuu Senki ( ´_ゝ`)

I'm torn.

I'll be platinum'ing Rorona soon and need something different to play and I was gonna start Toukiden but then I remember about the GOTY version (Kiwami w/e) and...dunno if I want to.

Same thing happened with Soul Sacrifice, played the HELL out of that game and by the time Delta came by I then and still have no desire to replay the game.

So...should I wait? Is Kiwami more like a sequel?

Sigh.

Kiwami is like SSD: has the content of the original game (which you can skip if you import your old save) and a bunch of new stuff. Also, Kiwami probably won't release on the west this year.
If you already have the game, can't hurt to try it out.

SCEA has removed almost all of Atlus USA's PSP games from the Vita store.

Yeah that is weird, considering the Atlus twitter just said they'd be on sale again this week.

Wasn't there a bug with stuff disappearing from the store when it went on sale or something?

Man, I wish TK announces a release for early 2015 soon. I want to know if the game is going to be localised and if it's going to have a retail version. I'd like to sell the original while it still has some trade value if Kiwami comes to the West

If your school is anything like any school I've been to, the first month is review of past knowledge - that's the best time to slack :P

I'm in 2nd year of medical school, so there is no easing us into it in the beginning unfortunately! Today was my first day, I was in class from 9 to 4 and I have about 80 pages of reading for tomorrow. I really miss that early review time when a semester started in undergrad.

My vita is actually one of the few things that keeps me sane during med school, suspend on it is absolutely perfect for someone like me who has free time in 15 minute chunks and might have to stop playing at a moments notice.

Just do note that that is a lot of gold, and thus, would take quite a while to amass and that:
  • You have to beat the game with that adventurer to be able to buy that adventurer's narration.
[*]You can only use them with the said adventurer. (Sorceress narration can only be chosen when using Sorceress).
Paying for the unlock does not have those limitations.

The bolded is not true, at least in Europe. I got the Vita EU version (which for some reason didn't include the voice packs even on release), and bought the Elf voice with 1M gold. I have it on with every character and it works without a hitch.

I am going to cry if a bioshock port is this years Vita "megaton", at the same time I would be really happy with a Xcom for my Vita.

still hoping for Obsidian and Bioware to step in and show what the Vita can do though. ;)

I pre-ordered Hohokum for PS4 and it had a countdown this morning showing that it would be available at midnight (at least that's what I thought I saw). Now it's showing something like 20 hours away which would be early tomorrow afternoon. Anyone know when exactly I will be able to play it? Tonight or tomorrow afternoon?

I'll be shocked if the vita even gets a "megaton" this year.

As I see it that has already happened..

i'd be shocked if vita even gets a megaten

ever

.. the last megaton IMO was a couple of months ago (Grim Fandango).

------–---------

When they started to show games on the PS blog right before E3 I saw that as they had to many games for the vita to show that they had to pre show some of them before the event.

Today when they repeated the same pattern I fear for the worst.

bought FFIV: CC. I'm such a sucker for this game. No regrets double dipping since I own the UMD. With BBS coming to PS3 with 2.5 in December I might not have a reason to turn my PSP on again :(

I asked this in the Summer Sale thread but thought I'd ask here too. Are PS4 saves compatible between Disc and Digital? I want to get the Ground Zeroes digital version whilst it's on sale, but would like to know if my save and trophies would continue across. Saves don't work like on the PS3, not sure what the deal is with PS4? Cheers!

So metrico is... Ok? i guess

*Goes back to Shock Troopers*

Yessssssss? Saves are a maybe. Trophies are a definite yes.
Wanna take the bullet for us and find out? I'll catalog the answer in my brain and will remember the information for future use.

I'm so freaking jealous... My sister gave me that Steins;Gate spin-off game as a present for my birthday (I liked the demo). But jeez, just tell me where you live to pay a friendly, non-robbery-related visit!

Anyway, I'm still thinking about buying Diablo III Ultimate on PS3... I don't want to spend the rest of my holidays playing that game and I won't touch it when classes start again...

To confirm, saves between Digital and Disc versions of the same game are compatible on PS4. Well, at the very least MGS: GZ is, and I am sure its not unique in that ability.

I deleted my disc install (I know that definitely isn't compatible sadly with the digital version, a very nice feature Xbox One actually supports, great for situations like this! ), and bought the game on PSN. On the Dynamic Menu my trophies were all recognised, and upon booting my save was too.

Handy!

Oh, Sony. Me love you long time. Gotta make an excuse to sell more Vita games.

I emailed Atlus USA about that. They're working on getting them back on the store. Atlus and Natsume have been good about fixing SCEA's mistakes, but what about the publishers that are unreachable (*cough*Mastiff*cough*)?

Yeah, they for sure need to get on that conversion process. It'll be a major deterrent in terms of taking advantage of sales and buying digital versions of games I own. These days I need damn near 24 hours to download these massive-assive games.
Saw this in the gamescom thread.
