Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Multiplayer World Premiere Coming August 11, 2014

I don't understand how all of these new style "mobility shooters" with double jumps, wall runs, etc. all seem to be missing the point so much. None of them, from Titanfall, to Destiny, to CoD: AW look/feel exhilarating to play from an animation/feedback standpoint, and they all still feature ADS so heavily. Doing all these crazy moves with no sense of speed or power + still slowing down to be accurate = Not impressed. The game can still be fun in spite of these things (I enjoy Destiny) but none of them have made a huge impression on me yet. Plus the gunplay in Advanced Warfare still looks incredibly sterile. I thought the E3 showing was solid, but the MP reveal didn't do anything for me.

Kat Gunn is streaming all of the footage she capped at the event last week. She's also answering questions about the multiplayer.

I can't believe it. They still have the same fucking reload animation since CoD4.

Next-gen my ass. Seriously this is a huge turn off for me. Gunplay hasn't changed one bit.

This game had a 3 year development cycle. What the hell were they doing?

Counting money and playing better games.

As if Sledgehammer had open hands to do whatever. It has to feel like Call of Duty. We can at least give them credit for doing seemingly good job at keeping the series fresh within the range they could work with.

I have a pretty strong feeling this will be second CoD in a row that I'll pass on. All the double jumping and dashing aren't really my thing and will bring more chaos to a series that already has enough of that and then some.

I recognize that it's Titanfall without Titans and it includes BF Levolution. I should be hating on this game.... But I watch that video... And I just want to love it.

Respawn, your jobs creating Titanfall 2 just got much harder.

Shame on Sledgehammer, this game looks terrible

Yeah you're probably right. It's all Activision's fault. We can't blame the developer for it.

I'll just wait till next year when Treyarch puts out the superior COD.

Not gonna lie, that very beginning when he went through the glass, all I thought of was TitanFall. MP looked pretty terrible to me.

Ehm they're fine dude, how many reload animations does a gun must have?

How is it Titanfall without Titans? Because of double jump? Because of a slight dash (which was something that Titans did, not Pilots)?

*bangs head on wall*

And Titanfall 1 showed that Respawn already had a tough job given how poorly that game came out in both tech and scope.

Really good players (like HelloMeow) can accomplish this in Titanfall. But it's really difficult and not something that the average player accomplishes.

Anyway, to things that actually make sense, can someone explain to me how perks and customization have changed since Black Ops to this game? Thought I saw some people talking about choosing perks over primary weapons as if there was some point allotment that controlled what you could or could not combine, but I may have misread.

It looks better than ghosts.

But for the first time ever im thinking of skipping this.

All this jetpack crap has put me off bigtime.

Lmao love this guy, a good parody (I think :p )

It's not about how many reload animations there are, it's about how different they are.

sorry but same old shit. They have to learn that fucking less is more. A good map design and a few balanced weapons are a lot more important. That is the reason CS and CoD4 are so poplar ( with promod). When I see a wallhacking grenade or the TTK i vomit :D

I wonder how this trailer would have fared if it was the exact same footage but not a part of the COD franchise...

I think this is an interesting point. I actually think the footage would have no discussion at all. Without the name attached, I'm not sure people would really pay attention to this game. It doesn't have the mobility of Titanfall, the full suite of suit powers like Crysis, or the skill and insanity of Unreal Tournament. Without the name you would see a fraction of the interest and inevitable sales numbers.

Kinda wierd seeing so much "inspired" from blops 2 and it not being blops3
if someone told me this was it id believe it

Treyarch is really gonna have to step it up now, leaving me more excited for their game

Kind of makes me wonder if there is a point in making a black ops 3.

The TTK in this looks horrible. Just like ghosts. Way too fast.

I'm seeing conflicting videos. In the videos I saw earlier, it looked like the time was incredibly low. Then some other footage came out after that and the time to kill appeared considerably higher.

As much as I love the old arena shooters, it doesn't work on consoles. And Cod, Titanfall and Destiny are console shooters whether you like it or not. The two speeds works the best for aiming with a controller.

Ok maybe this is the thread to ask the question, but am I SOL for the Day Zero stuff ordering the Atlas edition? Seems pretty crap if so...

That would be pretty silly. I think it's a safe bet that you'll be able to just pick up your Atlas edition a day early with all the benefits of day zero, which is basically double xp for that day.

I only really care so much about getting it a day early because I know the folks I play with will probably pick it up at the same time too.

Agreed. That drone match seemed to have a really quick TTK, but that Hardpoint match seemed much slower. Won't really know until we get more hands on impressions.

Your description sounds good though. Titans and grunts were the worst parts of TF, and levolution is often cool in BF4.

The guy at conference mentioned that if you already have the game pre-ordered, you're good to go. No need to do anything else. I can only assume this would apply to all versions.

I can't believe I actually want to pick up a CoD this year. It's been 7 years since I've done this..

Seriously though, it looks fun as hell!

This strikes me as BO3 which is a good thing

not sure why they added killstreaks to the pick 13 should of kept it pick ten perfect balance

jumping kills are gonna be annoying.

i think CODs biggest fault is the HP is too damn low 2-3 bullets is too little.
feels like im playing hide seek rather than a FPS

The knocking the new COD bandwagon is such a bore.

No substantial criticisms, just wanting everyone know that their not sheeple that will buy into this year's 'scam'.

I wish this thread was actually full of people discussing what was shown and not just drive-by comments about how the COD series is C+P'd.

I think the multiplayer looks solid and fun, it's fast paced and the customisation looks great. This is the first COD I'm looking at buying after MW2.
Welcome to every cod thread sadly, shit is annoying.

seriously? "if a game is popular and gets good reviews it must be a great game duh!", are you new to the videogames industry son?

but hey, whatever, I'm done arguing here. enjoy your yearly turd.

Lol ok. I don't even play CoD anymore but this basically reads "stop liking what I don't like".

That being said, watching the reveal, it seemed like they just grabbed elements from MW3 and BO2 and threw them onto all this new stuff and it looks a bit messy.

I'm sorry but ghosts is by far the worst cod ever.......if it's not the Swiss cheese maps it's the maps that have long grass and campers in gillie suits picking you off in your spawn with insta death guns shooting at your hitbox which is twice as big as your player model

Here's hoping they at least fix player health and you actually have a chance to react

Do all the maps have a "levolution" event?

Defender has the tidal wave, and Biolab has buildings getting airlifted in, but I haven't noticed anything for the other two maps.
