PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | August 2014

It's a pretty simple rule - if it's a PS2 port, it's not gonna be native.
Everything else is native most of the time (the % of games that aren't has only been shrinking over time).

The Sly Collection would like a word with you :D. Still though, parts of games like P4G (the menu's, anime cut-scenes, dialog boxes, ect) and dynamic resolutions (FFX/FFX-2) are native res sections at least :D.

To those who where on the fence with SAO I will be quoting an EU PR representative from Namco that posted this on the OT:

Hey guys! Sorry I'm like super busy with Gamescom BUT I wanted to share the good news with you: YES (finallly) we are getting the patch! And we'll have free DLC on launch day (and more DLC to come). Here's the quote from the press release:
"For fans who will want even more Sword Art Online excitement, a major update will be available after launch on September 24th to extend the already-thrilling and plentiful Sword Art Online experience. This free update will raise the level cap from 200 to 250 and provide an estimated 30 hours of additional gameplay including 50 new Hollow missions and heroine quests, new bosses, weapons, armor, areas and more!"
EDIT:
OH and it's the same for the US.

So that's it folks, no more excuses to pass up on it! It is a truly amazing game, hope you all enjoy it as much as I did (and do still LOL).

I see there is almost no hype for the GamesCon presser hehe

Good to know, I'm happy that I'll be getting this day one.

It was free in PSN+ in Europe

It was free in the US too on PS+ at one point, but quite a while ago. Really awesome game, love the art style and it feels great on vita. Huge filesize though, but that just may be me remembering trying to get by with an 8 GB card back in the day.

Anyway, a bunch of games in the anime sale that I don't recognize at all, like Hakuoki, Mamorukun, and Fist of the North Star, and a bunch of games from shows I haven't watched, like One Piece, Naruto and Seint Seiya. Any hidden gems among these? Any of the games based on shows worth getting if I haven't watched the show?

Wish BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma was on sale for vita, as it is now just looks like I'm getting Ys: 1 & 2 because I would much rather play it on my vita than on steam.

less than one hour left until the show, I have created a Vita Party in case you want to talk before/under/after the show because there is a chance that the forum will take a dive, right?

I guess Child of Light sold poorly on Vita. Valiant Hearts was announced for iOS today.

Which is too bad because they didn't even announce Child of Light for Vita till AFTER the console version launched... don't know what they were thinking that'd do to Vita sales.... :-\

The counter tells me 1:33 hours... :\

Anyway let's pray for something good and not too small/indie.

Maybe at gamescon? I have the impression that these 2d games are not hot everywhere though.

As of lately I've been digging a little into the information about PS Now. Being a European I don't got access to this yet, so I gotta ask you fellows about it.

I got access to a large range of PS3 games through Plus. Am I understanding it right when I say that I will have to pay once again to play those exact PS3 games through PS Now on my PS4?

What joke SCEE. Only one mention of Vita and it was for a PS4/Vita title.

I really can't believe it. Is like they went out to purposely laugh at us Vita owners.

My only hope now lies on TGS, but after this disappointment I don't know what to expect anymore.

Why do Sony even bother to sell the vita? Really, it's so disappointing and I was expecting no surprises, just new information about incoming releases. Nothing. Not a mention.

I am sure this is going to be my last Sony device. I'm tired of them.

Ugh, c'mon Sony. I was hoping for at least one first party Vita title. I know we'll probably see some stuff (first or third party) at TGS, but without a guaranteed localization I'm not at all enthused.

If the shortages in NA are any indication, it doesn't seem like they're going to for much longer.

SCEE had actually supported the device decently. The fact that they essentially dismissed it says it all about its future in the west (NA + Europe).

And given that, I doubt they'll even bother with localizations soon.

Vita seems to be deader than The Last Guardian to SCEE/A. :'(
I may be wrong, but I think the word "Vita" was mentioned more at E3 than at this conference. So sad.

The Vita is healthy enough in Japan, I wouldn't be worried about new game announcements.

Yup, I'm pretty confident on TGS. And to be honest, most of the games I play are Japanese, so as long as we get localizations
and FFXII HD
I'm good.

We are getting some great games in the next few months. I just feel offended that they didn't even mention Vita. I would have been happy with a 2 minute trailer and a Minecraft bundle announcement. But not to get even a mention is quite insulting.
