PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | August 2014

Well this sure was disappointing. Luckily Velocity 2X launches soon, that will ease the pain.

I'm actually getting a bit pissed off, and that's saying something considering my reactions to this kind of thing in the past. I really didn't expect a lot, my thoughts were that it would be as good as last year's (which wouldn't be a stretch of any kind), and yet we were simply snubbed like the Vita doesn't exist.

What the fuck? If you don't want to help the Vita Sony, just fire your marketing team and hire me.

I'll even work at minimum wage (provided you pay for all my business expenses) and can almost guarantee I'll turn the Vita around lickety split (and I can guarantee it'll be better than it is, because even one person marketing the Vita properly is better than the apparent ZERO we have currently!)

If the shortages in NA are any indication, it doesn't seem like they're going to for much longer.

SCEE had actually supported the device decently. The fact that they essentially dismissed it says it all about its future in the west (NA + Europe).

And given that, I doubt they'll even bother with localizations soon.

I had no idea about such shortages... Just we need an official confirmation.

I do not know, guys. I feel so silly right now... It's the first time that a company makes me feel this way. I love VITA, it is everything I could ask for on a handheld: slim, two analogue sticks, good screen, etc... and I have still plenty of games to play (I prefer playing on a handheld to be honest), but their manner... it annoys me. I would like to do something, just at least to be listened to, even though it shouldn't be this way at all.

So... Uh... Has anyone tried Phantom Breaker BG? Is it a good buy for 11.99? Contrary to what Sony wants us all to believe we actually got a new game today.

Please stop, conferences are not where we'll see Vita games announced.
Sony is pushing the PS4 with all its strength leaving PS3 and Vita aside.

Partially agree. However, conferences are free publicity for them. Their expenses for the conference are almost fixed and an audience of millions is already secured. All they have to do is put together a couple of trailers and dedicate 5 minutes to Vita and they would have done more in the matter than any Vita marketing effort in the west so far this year.

But having everything set and not even caring enough to make a mention is just baffling.

I don't know why people keep hoping to see Vita stuff in conferences anymore, I learned my lesson a long time ago. It's obvious that the focus would be on the AAA and indie PS4 stuff, because that's where the money is... Sony is all about the players, but it is a business at the end of the day and they need to make money.

Started the morning hearing about Tomb Raider, dented my bumper as I parked at worked, now the Vita snubbing I should've expected.

Today fucking sucks all round.

Gamescom 2013 spoiled us. Of course, the PS4 wasn't out at that time.

I just want some release dates (like FW), but I know we might not even get those.

What PS4 games can they even talk about at TGS? They hardly have anything coming in the near future

TGS makes sense since Vita is the Number 2 platform there

I would be happy to be wrong, but i suggest you to expect nothing, Sony won't let the PS4 die in Japan, if there will be anything for Vita(probably multi with PS4) then we'll be happy, but just don't hope too much.
EDIT:
and approach the TGS expecting Gravity Rush on PS4(multi with Vita if we are lucky) :(

We aren't going to get shit at TGS for Vita either. I don't know why you people keep deluding yourself into thinking that the Vita will have much of a presence at Sony conferences. Even if it does show up the only thing we'll get are hunting games and maybe Gravity Rush 2 assuming Sony hasn't already decided to turn that into a PS4 game.

TGS is probably gonna be a ps4 show too since it just released and is doing badly. So they are going to want to show their support for it since it's their main console

what i expect

Gravity Rush 2 (PS4)
Freedom Wars Unfolded (Vita/ PS4) western ponies begging for ps4 so they'll get it
Soul Sacrifice 2 (Vita/ PS4) infuane always console so he'll get it

Vita mean life, but sometime life don't get what its deserve =(, we just need to move on and hope for the best. and that is vita. Now I'm going back to play Nova and other JPN demo.

I'm not saying Sony should Dan Adelman Shahid, but what I'm saying is that someone should get him to stop talking on Twitter for a bit.

Definitely. He thinks any game coming to Vita means he's a champion of success. I've seen few members of the industry put themselves in such positions to be scrutinized like he does.

So, people, how long is Akiba's Trip? Same as Danganronpa? Or shorter? I've read Tom from XSEED saying from 5-15h on the first playthrough, but I wanted an opinion from a normal member here.

Vita is just too good for all these big ass 'expos'. All the good Vita stuff get announced outside of these events.

Just took a look at his twitter, right now he is listing games (indie) that are coming to vita, does not make me feel better though.

Can't wait for the PS Blog post where they 'mistakenly' announce Gravity Rush 2 for PS4 and PS Vita and then retract the Vita from the announcement.
