Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 12: Gwah, hah. Welcome to the Bowser's game.

Charizard as a monster hunter monster
Awesome.

I'd really love to see a crossover game. They can get past the whole "no killing" by having the Pokemon faint and get up later to run away, and past the whole "taking parts of the monster" by making the monsters regenerate those parts after a battle.

Has it ever been stated anywhere that character-specific BTT stages were removed because of the larger roster?

I would have thought it had more to do with the fact that there was a massively extraneous single player mode that ate up a lot of development time and resources as well as disk space.

I said one of the reasons for a reason. :P

I'm well aware of the fact that SSE is/was the main culprit but it's not like these BTT levels are easy to make, especially 40+ different ones taking advantage of each character's special moves and attributes.

Metal gear stream live. Now's your chance to announce snake kojima!!!! (Just kidding, sakurai would never let Kojima announce it!) :( :( :( :(

wait I need references, I haven't heard his dub voice

You can compare the two JP/ENG voices here.

The Spanish accent was part of 4kids' infamous practice of randomly granting characters foreign accents for their voices, most notably Jounouchi/Joey's Brooklyn accent in Yu-Gi-Oh and half the supporting cast in One Piece (most notably Sanji, whose nonsensical...I dunno what to call it is up there with Funimation's Freeza as quite possibly the biggest miscast in dubbed anime history). While I wouldn't at least put Eric Stuart's Meta Knight on the same terribad level as the latter, it still succeeds in ensuring you cannot take anything the character is saying seriously. Even when I was a kid---who didn't know anything about the trials and tribulations of dubbed anime--it pissed me off greatly (along with Australian Rick/the Lololo and Lalala name changes).

I'll also be frank in saying the Brawl voice isn't that great either, but it's far closer to the character's nature than Spanish Knight ever will be. They need to find a better balance via the character's intimidation and the light-hearted nature of the franchise.

Skyloft and Delfino Plaza's emptiness never bothered me because they're somewhat small, but Lumiose City looks just, DESOLATE. Have a crowd of NPCs on the platform or the Diggersby who hangs out by the tower, have Clemont come out with his badass robo arm, SOMETHING needs to be there.

To be fair it looked unfinished because of the static Zapdos.

I'm pretty sure the Spanish accent was a Zorro reference, which I personally think is pretty awesome.

Eric Stuart is mostly out of the VA business as far as I know, so I don't really see him doing anything for the game (even though he still does some work occasionally).

I prefer him concentrating on his music anyway, he's written some really cool songs with his band.

I never watched the original version at all; I only saw the dub. I just liked hearing him say, "Ah need a monstah to clobbah dat dere Kirbeh!

that song was stuck in my head for at least a year

never again

nothing wrong with liking the dub version, btw. I think it's just okay, but mannnnnnnn Spanish Meta Knight...

I just need people to constantly pester Kojima about Snake. We'll be able to judge by his reaction if Snake is in.

Honestly I think it's weird he hasn't straight up said "no" if he's not in. I mean, if Snake's been cut, what's keeping Kojima from saying so? Unless even he doesn't know. Which would be odd to me.

THIS. For the love of god this.

With how bad I want to know if he's in or not, it drives me crazy at these conventions that he's not being asked about it regularly.

ANNOY THE FUCK OUT OF THAT BRILLIANT MAN!

I really like the japanese voices more in most games

This opinion is potentially biased

But Hayter's Snake is awesome too.

I wish there were a way to set the language for every individual character.. :p

I dont even think the game will have language options.. :(
