This is my current Vita playlist (out of about 40+ games installed on the system already):

I just don't have enough time in my day...

GAF, can you sell me on Disgaea 3? I was between that and Akiba's Trip, but I'll get AT later. I know the basics about the series and I played Hour* of Darkness on the DS a while ago.

Nice line up of games :D! The Ratchet games aren't that long (the first ironically being the longest while the latter ones last about.....10-15 hours depending on how much you do). They get much longer if you decide to get everything (Omega/Golden Weapons, the Titanem/Golden Bolts, all the gadgets, maxing out armor, ect) and the trophies are a bit of a pain (dat 1 Millon Bolt trophy for Ratchet 1 X().

Rouge Legacy is a perfect pick up and play game, so have fun with that as well :D.

Also, Persona 3 Portable will be something you will replay again once you beat it. Between many of the S. Links requiring max social stats, the S. Links being different for the Male/Female MC's and the game being a bit tricky to get all the Personas. Have fun though, its soundtrack is amazing the once you get further in the story, it really starts moving :D.

Standard or Expert sphere grid? And why?
If it's your first play through go standard. That way the characters will all stick to their respective classes for the bulk of the game. Of you've played through before you may wanna try expert for more freedom.

expert because freedom

Isn't Expert also faster to complete the grid? I'd go with that.

If is your first time playing the game, standard (more straightforward). If your playing for the plat, expert (less nodes to activate = less grinding)

Yeah, it was my first playthrough and chose standard. Thanks, I'll go expert with my 2nd one.

I can suggest 3 only if you can find it cheaper than 4, if you're going just because it's the third game.

I wanted to experience the story from the third game first, but I'll get both from PSN, so the only way that I could find it cheap is if they did a sale. Is the game not worthy it?

For me, 3 > 4. Still, if you're going for all of them, the first is also the best and playable on your Vita.

The 3rd is the worst in the series.

Also the story isn't related in any of the games outside of cameos. I would even say to skip it at this point so you don't burn yourself out on it before playing 4.

Any good Diablo like games on the VITA?

Last amazing isometric ARPG I played was Record of Lodoss War on the Dreamcast!

The only ones I can think of are Dungeon Hunter Alliance and Silent Hill: Book of Memories.

The former is a flat out port of a mobile game that is quite old (remember piking up the mobile version when I had my 1st Gen iPod Touch XD!) while the latter is a Diablo-esc game in a Silent Hill skin. I didn't play that much of it but from what I did play, it was a fun time :). The weapons had limited usage (and fell apart after to much use), the visuals are really nice for Vita, the sound is classic Silent Hill and there even is a DLC add-on that gives the game more content. The game went on sale at least 2 times last year (during the summer sale and JP sales), so it should go on sale soon :). I think you can find a retail copy used at a local gamestop somewhere too.

Thanks, but I already played the first one. Loved it.

Ok, thanks. I'll try to find more info about the 4th game.

EDIT: I've searched for a bit and damn, people's opinions are all over the place about the games (and by that I mean a lot of people say 3 is bad, then another lot say 4 is bad, and another lot say 2 is bad - I'm talking about story not gameplay here). The only one that most people agree that is very good is D1, but I've already played that. Sigh, what to do now.
Akiba's Trip, maybe?

I had a similar issue when trying to decide whether to get D4. I got D3 free with PS+ and generally didn't love the story, and when trying to find out how D4 compared I couldn't find anything concrete as to how they compared. I guess opinions and whatnot.

That is one of my biggest genres that I miss on the Vita. Some indies should take the torch and do one, I would buy it (if it was good, though).

Torchlight 2 Vita, pls.

Yeah, I'm still salty that I only got PS+ this year, missed some great games like D3. And I've seen some franchises that people have different opinions (like FF, for an example), but after this search Disgaea is taking the crown.

Standard or Expert sphere grid? And why?

Standard.

So each person has a defined set of "jobs" that separate them, making them unique.

And it's easier to reach max stat with standard sphere grid, if you're into that kind of stuff/want to beat all the strongest monsters/content.

I'm glad I got PBBG. It was worth the wait, met my personal hype level for it. I'll recommend the game to everybody that loves a good beat-em-up, one of the few great games of that genre on the Vita.

Finally unlocked network in SSD, so I'm good to go (though I'm a bit weak) whenever cyborg/itachi come calling.

Random side note: I still hate Rayman Legends and it's ridiculous Awesomeness level 11 trophy. I have earned over 1.1 million lums since trying to get that far. I am 202 points away... at a rate of 6-11 points on an average day, I might be able to delete this crap by September.

why not play your backlog instead of buying more

i want to know why that is so hard

Says the guy who constantly tells everyone to buy SS:D! You're only adding to the problem!

Man, I am so interested in playing this, especially with the planes mechanic. As someone else posted earlier, my major gripe with Dragon's Crown was thinking I was right in front of an enemy but actually being slightly off. But I wouldn't be able to help getting the DLC because I love Steins;Gate, and given what I've bought already the past few weeks I can't justify it right now. Plus what the hell half the price of the game for a DLC character? It may add more than just a character but with descriptions like "There is `Kurisu`:the character of popular game of 5pb.`Steins:Gate` as guest character of DLC contents" I can't really tell

that's because they were looking to buy games and needed great advice from fellow sorcerer on what game to pick up. as such, i suggest everyone to buy the best game ever made on ps fucking vita and isn't a port or was ported later.

I can't lie, I did just buy SS:D because of his constantly mentioning it, so there is that...
Plus that was a damn nice sale price.
i hope you will like it!

Game is awesome, you're completely right about Dragon's Crown and that doesn't happen in PBBG. Also, the Kurisu DLC was half the price of the game for the 360 as well ($10 game + $5 DLC), and if I'm not mistaken, it also raises the level cap of all characters, not just Kurisu, but there might be more to it. Oh, and additional trophies.

How did you get your icons setup that way? I just got myself a Vita for P4G and my PS+ stuff but not really a big fan of the bubble icons.

oh I've been playing them while commuting
been trying to complete Rogue Legacy since I got it on release :P

That sale price was close enough to what I would've considered paying for a DLC upgrade, so I finally jumped in too.

I need to play it soon... but at this point of my life, i need something cheery

Why not give Tearaway a shot then? I don't know if you played it yet or not, but if you didn't play it yet, give it a go :D. The game is really bright and colorful, the worlds are very vivid, the tone is very lighthearted and the core gameplay/level design uses the Vita's unique features beautifully :D.

Once you see your face in the games sun, you can't help but smile :). I know there is a PS4 remaster/sudo-sequel coming next year but the Vita version is something very special and something you will never find on any other platform (the main reason MM is doing so much new stuff with the PS4 version).

That fits your desire for something cheery perfectly :D.

This is what I do. Playing through some sweet sweet PSX games currently. Why do so many people equate buying games to having fun?

You're looking at it the wrong way. It isn't always about buying games=fun, but more new=exciting. Often a game is in the backlog either because you tried it and it didn't immediately grab you, or that you are just not in the mood to play that type of game. Games are rarely in your backlog despite being exactly what you want to play at this very moment. But buying something new offers the chance that whatever it is happens to be exactly what you were looking for, or something awesome you didn't even know you wanted. Doesn't always happen, in fact it usually doesn't happen, but there is always a chance.

You should spend some time with Atelier Totori to soothe your soul (and work on that backlog).

Top of page edit: Everyone should have some Ateliers in their life.
