I think the thought is, with Miis, they adapt to whatever game they're in always. They're in Smash, so they're Smash Miis.

I certainly believe the Sonic/Sega could get another rep and DK two more reps, but this leak is likely fake. I do love looking at leaks tho.
I believe the guy also said the part of the E3 2013 trailer with DK when they introduce the first eight characters was cut from the upcoming DK trailer but I lost that part or something.

That would imply there isn't a Rhythm Haven character, but Smash Run seems to heavily imply there will be, along with already reasonably credible leaks we have.

Whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa there, buddy. Dark Samus does way more than Samus does to ever be considered a clone.
Let me state a few differences.
Dark Samus flies. She is a majestic angel of hell. Samus Stomps around like a barbarian.
Dark Samus has the (fan dubbed?) scattershot beam which is a machine shotgun. Samus fires balls of varying sizes one at a time.
Dark Samus can use Phazon as an impenetrable shield. Samus... cannot.
Dark Samus has Tentacles and we'll never mention tentacles in smashgaf again.
But, most importantly Dark Samus has best friends. Her Dark Echos which she can create on the fly are beautiful. We've seen no fighter that clones themselves, and that saddens me D:
Oh, and Dark Samus has 2 potential badass final smashes. The first is turning back into the Metroid Prime, but the second is merging with Aurora Unit 313 which is basically Mother Brain... Prime.
They could do that, or... they could just do it the lazy way and make her a glass-cannon clone of samus.
The latter is the most likely, unfortunately.
Also Scattershot isn't fan-dubbed, it's in one of the Dark Samus scans in MP2.
A villains trailer just seems like the obvious thing to happen. I want to see it.

That's so fake but the idea of playing as Dr. Eggman is really, really appealing. His voice actor is so great, I wish he could be in Smash.

I still don't see how this would take any more time than Marvel, with or without Amiibos.
Eggman is the only other Sonic character I'd seriously want Playable.
I swear if it's not Ridley, the fakes involve K. Rool. I could honestly see two more trailers in the way it's described here (Nintendo Direct and a standalone similar to the Fire Emblem one).
Also, for Dr. Eggman, I would not be surprised if he's a boss or something in where he uses his pod

Also worthy of mention is the particular way in which the echoes are created.
It's amazing and completely ridiculous, but still somewhat menacing due to how inhuman the rest of her is.
Because Marvel does it on the character select screen and the way it's looking in smash 4 it will be behind 2-5 menu options, depending on whether you're going there from the main menu before the matches or from the CSS between matches.
I wouldn't say stupidest, but it would put a serious dent in the momentum they've gotten from Mario Kart 8 and they know it.
I'm confident it'll still come out this year.

My ideal Dark Samus character would be based around phazon corruption. She could infect other fighters with phazon and increase the infection with her attacks, leading to nasty status effects like slowly taking damage or maybe even having your controls reversed. In exchange, she'd be much lighter than Samus and would have to constantly attack the foe to keep the phazon corruption going up. It would give her a unique niche as a status effect-based character.
Her final smash would preferably be Metroid Prime's first form, but Aurora 313 is also fine. Another option is to just have her drop a Leviathan on the stage that constantly leaks phazon.

The assist trophy indicates that Sakurai thinks Dark Samus should have her own unique moves from her games, which is pretty awesome.

I don't think there's a single enemy in Smash Run from a series not represented in Smash with a character, and Rhythm Haven has a Smash Run enemy.
Because of that I don't really even bother with leaks that don't include a RH character. I'm pretty sure Marshal will be a character, and that one chorus boys leaker was confused by his appearance.

Depending on whether Eggman's in an Egg-O-Matic variant or not, I could see him getting a remixed version of Snake's moveset.
Still taking it with an entire saltlick, though.
If Sonic somehow gets a second rep I'd rather see Tails, though.
I think there's a lot we can learn from this, honestly. Particularly when you take into account RYCE'S 3DS ROSTER as a likely final roster there, then try and re-arrange things to fit with the Wii U screen...
The biggest thing for me is that Greninja is in front of Pikachu on the Wii U screen. That says to me that Pikachu will be the first slot on Row #4 and Greninja will be the last slow on Row #3. Which is strange, because so many of the bottom characters are "one-offs" that could easily be rearranged. Why is Greninja separated from the rest of the pack?
Here's a rough mock-up of how the Wii U screen SHOULD look... wish I had the editing chops to actually make it look like the Wii U screen, though, ha.
Everything lines up as it does in the demo screen. Four biggest Smash characters on the far left. The "sibling series of Metroid and Kid Icarus take up the top right, with their retro pals. Ganondorf remains a clone and remains next to Captain Falcon. Fire Emblem and Mother remain side-by-side. You could easily drop a Star Fox character to squeeze in Lucas, too. Game & Watch sticks with the 3rd Parties, and also with Wii Fit Trainer, his modern "named after hardware" pal.
The only area I'm iffy on is Captain Falcon through Ice Climbers and ROB. They seem distributed sort of haphazardly... and the bottom row in general still doesn't make sense to me. Why not move Olimar up some and bring Greninja down? Why is he before Pikachu!? I want answers Sakurai!!
That's an AT though, if he was going to add her as a playable character I could see him justifying only adding her as a clone and spending time on "more unique" characters.
What else does Nintendo have to offer for Holiday 2014? I dare you to type Captain Toad with a straight face. DKCTF was able to get delayed because Mario 3D World existed and they had a shit opening for their 2014 lineup. There is no way Nintendo is going to allow Black Friday and Holiday shopping to pass by without a big name like Smash Bros. I'd suspect if it really came down to worst case scenario, they launch it rushed and work on patches

She could have unique specials, but mostly the same normal attacks as Samus. So she'd be sort of a clone, but not really.

They need the amiibos out and a working game for them too. I don't really expect any more delays.
The one character I'm really surprised are not in Smash yet is Toad. Of course, we don't know the full roster yet, but Toad's likely not getting in because he's still Peach's attack.
He's one of the most important Mario characters and has been playable several times in the mainline games.
Oh well, I'll just have to hope for the next Smash game, or maybe DLC.

The assist trophy indicates he already thinks she is a unique character. It also is a pretty intensive assist trophy with three unique attacks, so he's clearly willing to put effort into her.
