PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | August 2014

Getting SAO this week. I was thinking of adding Disgaea 4 to my shopping list but I might wait for a sale on it due to my backlog. I'm still gonna buy and play Danganronpa whenever it comes out though.

As far as I know this isn't true.

Why is the Diablo preload only about 5GB?

I'm not sure why, but I've seen other games do this as well. I bought Injustice from the PS Store and it only downloaded a 5GB file. When I went to play it the game installed the rest of the 20GB. I'm guessing you download a relatively small portion of the game which contains a compressed version of the full game. Then you can start playing it - and avoid a huge download - while the game installs the rest of the files in the background.

Oh wow. Is that the Hong Kong English translation? Or is that the actual North American release? I bought the HK one a month and a half ago, and the translation is really sloppy (but you can get by). It looked like that, actually.

So just wondering if that's the HK version or if the NA is that bad too. If so, damn. But I will say, the game is 100% playable and understandable. Even if the translation is janky.

That is NA. I already have the asian copy also but haven't started on that.

Just got an update from Amazon on my Playstation TV preorder (NA): This item will be released on October 14, 2014.

WHY AREN'T MORE PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT SWAPPER JESUSCHRIST

I know it's ridiculous, this game should be #1 on PSN. To be fair, when I first saw it on the store, I judged it as 'some puzzle game', until I saw some Youtube footage and was thoroughly impressed.

They need to improve the marketing on this game, it has an awesome story, beautiful graphics and mind bending puzzles. If anyone is on the fence about this game, could you please just go and buy it now and support good games? You won't regret it, I sure as hell didn't. Oh and it's cross-buy and cross-save across all platforms. C'mon this is a no brainer.

Yeah that's what I thought. Similar to Destiny. However since its a preload, you can't actually do that until the game releases. Which totally defeats the point of having a preload in the first place as the game is quite large..

So when should we expect SAO to appear in the store on Tuesday? I've never purchased a digital Vita game from PSN day one, so I have no idea what time they usually pop up. I was hoping they'd do a preload option like they do with some other games.. but oh well.

There is never a 100% set time. But I find, games usually go up around 12 pm (mid-day) Pacific time (so 3pm East Coast).

I can confirm this is from the US localization.

Crazy. I didn't mean to doubt, I was just shocked the quality would be like that. I was even considering re-buying it for the NA release. But I mean honestly, that's not that far off from the HK version. And I've already pretty much beaten the game. Sooooo.

In my experience with Injustice, the game installed pretty quickly. I booted up the game, played a few matches and never had to stop for it to finish the install. So, yeah, it seems a bit pointless for a 5GB file, but I'd rather have to download 5GB of data than 20-50GB lol. Hopefully Blizzard was able to make the install pretty seamless. The Destiny beta's install was something different entirely...

Edit: To be clear I'm talking about background installations that all PS4 games. The Destiny beta used the PS3 install method for some reason.

Well damn, I saw Swapper on PSN's store when it released....but knew nothing about it. Is it really A MUST BUY NOW title? You guys are making it sound hype as fuck.

I'd say if you like sci-fi and puzzle games it's definitely worth playing. Otherwise, you could probably wait for a sale. It's a Curve poblished game so the chances of a sale within the next couple of months are pretty high.

Wait so it's the same translation as the Asian version??? Seriously?!

Do they still refer to "clearing floors" as "penetration"? I have a hard time believing that SCEA and SCEE would approve that.

The Namco Europe rep said in the OT for the game that they don't, so we'll see I guess.

So there is no reason not to get the English asian release amirite?

Depends on personal preference, and how long you want to wait (doubt it'll be there by the time the game releases here). Also, not sure if it plays well with the Western release via Ad-Hoc if that's something you're interested in.

Based on what Namco reps were saying in the OT. If that's confirmed to be from the localisation then that's really disappointing, and pretty much guarantees I won't be buying this. Even the apostrophe is a carry over from the HK version (Looks like apostrophes typed in a lot of Asian fonts).

If you are in NA you might as well get the NA release at this point. But if people knew it would be the same im sure some would have bought it a month ago. They had them on Amazon so shipping was rather quick. Although importing means a higher cost so there is that. *shrug*

I hear that asian copies got this translation patch.

... It can't be consistently that bad, can it? I mean, even ace attorney has one or pieces of dialogue slaughtered like that.

I've beat the game and it's spotty. I wouldn't say its so bad you can't understand what's going on. And some text sections are a lot worse than others. But yeah the Engrish translation is the bulk of the game.

NPC chat where they say little thoughts and you react is even more broken. I personally had no issue playing the game and understanding the story and dialogue. But I cant deny that the translation is really sloppy. If that sort of thing bothers you then this game would piss you off.

Hey PS/vitagaf. Do we have a timeline for PSNow on vita? I'm wondering how plausible it is that I could replace my PS3 entirely. My only perpetual NEED ps3 exclusive games are dark souls and the Ico/SotC collection. I guess there's some PSN stuff that I would miss though, like the PSN megaten games and Okami HD.

It's almost impossible to have all the script be bad like that. But people will focus on the bad ones to justify them not buying the game or something.

The asian English version is out months ago though. I live in Singapore, and I can just walk into a store to buy it. I have been holding out because I thought the US release may have a better translation.

Hoooooooly shit Patapons in DoS. Guess I'm playing more DoS.

I finished Metrico earlier today. It was short but good. I hate to use this phrase but it really did make good use of the Vita hardware.

All this Soul Sac talk is making me want to get back into Delta.

All I've heard so far is this Fall.

Played some Soul Sacrifice Delta and it seems kinda shallow and boring. Each mission lasts literally 3 minutes and all comprise of the same combat, which is a bit dull. Monster Hunter this is not. Does it get better?

baekshi how long would it take me to get to a reasonable enough level/skill in SSD to do group shit with you?

Feel free to join in anytime, you'll get to reasonable level/skills if you aren't already by playing in the group. If you completed the revised memories, you're all set.

Are you basing that on early story pacts ?
