Soul Sacrifice Delta am cry

Fuck this shit.

Really, fuck this shit.

Disgaea 4, SAO, SS Delta, Danganronpa 2, not to mention Xillia 2.......... uggghhh, how's my wallet supposed to cope? -___________-

I forgot the SAO game was coming out this week. Everything I've read paints it as a good JRPG (I've seen mentions of FF12 which REALLY caught my attention) but there are also waifus and I hate most of the SAO 'heroines'. But Sinon seems great and there's a character voiced by Sachika Misawa so now I feel obligated to buy it because she needs more roles. Pls.

It's funny, the waifu aspect is one of the things I am most looking forward to. Not at all because of the romance aspect, but because after watching all of Season 1 of the anime and the movie, I can name 2 of the female characters, Asuna and his sister. I know there were short arcs about random female characters, but they were so quick that I never even realized they were meant to be recurring characters (very confusing during the movie, I was like who are these people). So I feel like having "waifus" will mean I get to learn more about the characters that I seemingly missed out on. That is, assuming the characters from the game are not new ones, but instead taken from the first half of the anime.

Fuck this shit.

Really, fuck this shit.

I feel your pain. All that plus I want to get PBBG eventually.

Considering how the App Store on iOS has some really cool stuff, I think so :D. Have fun looking for games Flandy :).

If you want some good iOS games, try a few of Gamelofts. Granted, they are all 'clones' of other games (Resident Evil, Mario, GTA, Halo, ect) but are very solid clones considering some of those series never landed on iOS. A great one I remember owning was....I think Castle of Magic or something.....the name escapes me sadly X(. It is a Mario clone, but it was quite fun :D.

Also, there are some other good ones too; Rolando and Rolando 2. Both are very....I guess Locoloco like; you control ball-shaped creatures with the gyro-tilting and you do a mix of platforming and puzzle solving. The second game has more types of the Landos to control (one that can climb up walls, and the like) along with a nice story.

Sorry to de-rail the topic XD! I just have nice times remembering when I used my iPod Touch for gaming for a while :).

I really have a hard time finding games I enjoy on the iOS app store. It isn't so much that they aren't there, but more that there is so much garbage and so little curation of the store that the only way I ever find good games is when someone points them out.

Also, having owned an iPhone for 6 years now and an iPad for close to that, I have learned I just don't enjoy touch screen gaming. Even on vita or 3DS, when the touch screen becomes a major focus I'm out. I just find holding my device in one hand to be less comfortable, and I prefer physical buttons. Same reason I hate the stupid star notes in Project Diva F I guess.

I skipped out on SS Delta being on sale and Xillia 2 because I flat out won't play them at all. I might just borrow Xillia 2 from my friend sometime in November though since my game purchases in that month consist of just Dengeki Bunko FC and that's it. The next few months are gonna be rough on my wallet.

Oh and I have a $90-100 Kirigiri figure coming in next week. HAHA fuck my bank account I can deal with having only eggs with rice and carrots for the next 3 weeks

I know the one that's voiced by Chris from Symphogeah and then the loli because of course. According to google Sinon appears because she's clearly more interesting than all the other heroines, and also a new character voiced by Sachika Misawa.

Let me guess, you played games that do the lazy thing and have touch-screen vultral controls, right? Yah, I remembered taking a while to adjust to that X( (playing a platformer with those controls....takes a bit to get used to :(). The thing is, there are games that use limited controls well. For example, Rolando and its sequel largly use button swipes (jump), tilting (to move the characters) and tapping (to switch between the characters). The games were really fun with this set-up, so that proves mobile games can work if the controls are smart enough.

The big issue is that many developers take the easy route and just make games play like normal games; sticks and buttons. Mobile simply cannot work well with just touch controls (or even then, they take a long time to adjust to). I think with more and more of them supporting controllers, they will be fine in the future :).

Now, sorry to de-rail the topic again XD!

De-Rail Response: I absolutely hate touch screen virtual controls. They never work well and are always lazy. Like, how can you play Mario with virtual controls? The simple idea of holding B to run while hitting A to jump without letting go of B is already too much for this control scheme. That said, I also generally dislike swiping, tapping and tilting, even in games that I like. Even something like Jetpack Joyride which I really enjoyed, I always felt like touching the screen blocked my view of incoming missiles, and would have been better with an off-screen button. And in Plants vs. Zombies, which I played a ton of, I always felt super inaccurate and would occasionally dig up the wrong plant or place something in the wrong spot. It doesn't help that I have medical issues with my left wrist, meaning that it causes pain to support even very light things like an iPhone solely with my left hand. I like a lot of games that I have played on iOS, but to me they would almost always be better with dedicated off-screen controls that didn't force me to cover a part of my screen with my fingers to play. One exception is VNs, I thoroughly enjoyed Juniper's Knot on my iPad.

But I am always open to suggestions, so if you know of any games that you think particularly showcase iOS or mobile capabilities and don't want to derail further, I would be totally open to a PM with some of your personal choices. I would love more devices to game on.

Re-Rail: God Soul Sacrifice: Delta is much better than the original. Really glad this went on sale and had a Japanese voice pack. Also, how is it even humanly possible to beat Rogue Legacy in 15 generations. I am like 40 generations in and just now beat the Eyeball boss. This game feels more punishing than the Souls series.

Anyone else get lag spikes with cod ghosts (ps4) ?

Every time I play now it just lags.

I thought maybe it was my connection, but Im testing out black ops 2 now, and it seems good.

Just wondering if its my ps4, or if ghosts is just.....yee..

Sent you a PM with trailers a few mobile games you may like :). Hope you enjoy them :D!

On topic though, I really enjoyed Soul Sacrifice, so I'm sure Delta is a great game (as it is based on it :)). It's crazy that it sounds like they added so much new content but also included content from the original too; a great deal I think :D.

If you had imported SAO, we might have gotten a better translation

I haven't seen this mentioned in a long time... my take

Is Soul Sacrifice supposed to make me feel like a horrible human being? :( Sacrificed the Harpy, didn't expect to have to sit there for a good five seconds listening to it. But I really didn't see how I could Save it after reading the lore. This game is seriously rough on the mind.

On the topic of lore, it's amazing that every creature has its own backstory. Really adds to the atmosphere, the immersion.

I already beat Demon Gaze, loved it. But holy hell that game was hard for me (because I suck). I think I put 100 hours into it before I beat it. So worth the money. TBH I didn't even know Mind Zero was a first person dungeon crawler (that's how out of the loop I am).

I guess I should have started by watching some videos/reviews. I had it in my head that it was like Persona/Conception where you enter the dungeon and run around lool. But once you actually engage in combat, it's like Persona 3-4 right?

EDIT: Just watched a video..nope. So it's basically 100% dungeon crawler. Okay. Well glad I checked in here first. I don't mind those games, but it seems like everyone hates this title.

It seems you've already made your mind, but the game was for 12.50€ not so long ago. If it goes again for sale at a good (low) price you could get it. For less than 10€ I'm sure you'll get some enjoyment from it if you have your expectations in check (haven't played the game though).

That is NA. I already have the asian copy also but haven't started on that.

h80v0Vz.jpg

I don't know if that's a bad translation or just a shitty joke. Could be a little of both.

We already knew this, anyway. That the SAO localization was greenlighted in the West just because they were already making an engrish translation.

If they were "serious" about this game they'd have brought a limited retail edition like Senran Kagura's and Tales of Hearts.

Am I doing it right?

You're getting Shin Megami Tensei 1 too, right?

Right?

The Rayman games are quite well done and touch controls work nicely there. You could give them a try too :)

And Game Dev Story is AWESOME! My favorite Android game.

I think that was what the team wanted people to feel.

I found the lore to be fantastic and I really liked the story in the original. It was really touching and full of unexpected twists, yet in the end it made sense. The decision in the ending was quite hard to me too.

But I don't feel like buying Delta right now :(

It is supposed to be grim, yes.

I love the short stories in the game.

Is.the story expanded in delta btw? Still debating my purchase.

Anyone play Rygar when it released on the Japanese PSN? I watched Game Grumps play through the NES game, but the original appears to be structured differently so I'm curious if it's worth checking out.

I have a seperate fund for DR2 and DR should it go on sale. Although Ace Attorney kinda takes priority over it. If I had to I would have ate into my DR fund since i've been wanting to play AA5 for a looooong time. It was going to be the main reason for me to buy a 3DS. Won't be needing one of those now :lol

Yesterday i finally had the possibility to try Saints Row 4(man how much i hate playing on the PS3! Update the firmware, the store, the game... all incredibly slowly!), since i still don't find the DS3 cable i plugged another gamepad that always worked, and in fact it worked... until the SR4 menu where for some reason it didn't seem to accept the input of the X button(but analogs worked).
Is it normal? I only downloaded the first patch of six.
What can i do(other than finding the DS3 cable)?

Hahahaha. No we aren't Banana <3

Give us some reasons why you should, you shouldn't and at least I'd respond.

How is your backlog? ;D

Like most people in GAF, horrific, hahaha.

In fact I bought SS day one and haven't played it for more than 10 minutes... for some reason. The price for this one is very tempting though... and as I understand the game's digital only with no retail? I am always down with Japanese-style games.

Really need to make my decision before the sales end. When will it end, by the way?

Based on that I wouldn't get if I were you.

It's a fantastic game (SS). But it's one of games where you get back, what you put into it.
SSD expands on the the great gameplay and adds more story. It's a good value for the price.

I don't own SSD, because I played the heck out of SS. I also suspect SSD will be PS+ sooner or later.

The price tempting, but you have to ask yourself.. Are you actually going to play it this time?
You have until around 12 to 1PM est tomorrow.

What is VitaGAF's opinion on Breath of Fire III on PSP? Thinking about getting it at the current sale price...
It's a traditional JRPG, but I found it quite tough. Dungeons are long, with save points few and far between, combined with a high encounter rate. Of the stuff that makes it unique, like the dragon-forms of the main character, I didn't find them quite as essential or interesting as they should be. Ultimately I lost interest about halfway through, slogged through one more dungeon and then abandoned it.

Still, on the other hand, it's £2.50 and if it clicks with you, it's dozens of hours of adventuring. For the price of a sandwich it's worth a punt.

Should I bite, should I biiiiiiiteeeeeeee.

No, Don't. Fight the impulse. I too have bought SS last January when it was like 5$ and I haven't played it longer than one hour overall. Enjoy the original first if you'd like it. SS:D might be better but you gotta trim the backlog a little first before buying. Atleast you'd get your money's worth before the game's price decreases.

As if I didn't buy DBZ and Ys 1&2 just to put them on my backlog.

I don't even know what's the PS3 store like anymore(other than crap, I mean), just use the PC store for everything

About the issue, does it occur with SR4 only? If so, try to download it again

Already bought soul sacrifice delta and waiting for the eu release of disgaea 4.
I am still patiently awaiting blazblue cp for vita since it does have a pegi rating, but getting it on the us store is getting increasingly more tempting. Is don't really want to get a second or third account if the games i want eventually get released here. How much patience do you guys have for this stuff?

Delta is significantly better. I found the original dull and it didn't really manage to capture me past the first few hours, I sunk crazy amounts of time into Delta though. It's such a huge improvement.

At this point you should just bite the bullet and import GE2. I did and don't regret it, had loads of fun platinuming it. Kind of sucks that I can't get the DLC add on scenario but oh well. I don't really see it coming over here. The prime time to do something like that was when the online launched.

Yeah me too but the chances of it appearing outside Japan even for us Asians is getting dimmer by the day.

I've struggled hard to reach a part of SS where I think you have to sacrifice the fellow mage. Thought that since this is fast paced like GE (compared to MH), I really would also dig it but nope. You are now the third gaffer I hear praises for Delta (0AKA, Baek) maybe I should also give it another chance.
Since Soul Sacrifice 2 is coming for the PS4, amirite guys?

About GE2, I only have a basic knowledge of Nihonggo and I hoped to at least know what Alisa (my original waifu) is saying. There are still Japanese copies floating around my country with markdowns to the price but the language barrier is undermining my demand for it.
Anyone else use Near on Vita?
I still check it all the time :(
I regularly check it too since the other Vita owners in my area are pretty generous with the gifts.
I usually see One Piece related gift now though. Too bad I don't like One Piece.

Yeah, I just started watching some videos on it. And based on everything I'm reading, it sounds like the full price is too much for the kind of game it is.

It's a good game, if not just a little mediocre. For most people, it wouldn't be worth for the full price, but it's not a horrible game in any way like most people make it out to be.

Yeah, I dropped the original once I got to the Cerberus boss and hit a wall. Just couldn't get any further and the systems didn't interest me enough to grind (Never had an issue with farming in MH since I love the carving and crafting systems). Delta never felt grind to me though, it flowed a lot better and melee combat was heaps more enjoyable (The feather+spear combo made it super fun to teleport around the field attacking enemies). It's just a much better paced game along with all the additions and better looking graphics.

In the past I've said I would find it hard to recommend GE2 to people without at least decent knowledge or recognition of kanji due to all the menus and crafting systems, but if you're keen on it I'd just grab it anyway. It was a really good time. It'd be nice if it eventually comes over but it just doesn't seem like it at this point :(

that ending... sigh. I spent so long at the fight.. I just refused to give up... hoping for some glitch to occur and allow me to change the decision but gah..
