Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 12: Gwah, hah. Welcome to the Bowser's game.

I have topic idea of my own.

Let's say that these games have a season pass that contains five additional characters and some additional stages and stuff for each. None of these characters can already be appearing in the game as trophies, Assist Trophies, Pokeballs, stage hazards, or Robin's Final Smash.

Realistically, what five would you pick?
This was actually tougher than I thought it would be!

1) Ridley
dammit, he hasn't be officiallyrevealed yet
2) Isaac
3) Dixie Kong
4) Andy
5) Paper Mario

The GOAT third gen track will always be the gym leader theme. It manages to be both grand and energetic and you can feel the music's tone ebb and flow to match the intensity of the fight. The Colosseum version would make good Smash music with no alterations, so you don't even need to make a new arrangement.

I have the feeling ORAS will ruin it. :-(

I have never been banned. Even though I might look like a spider, I have the resiliency of a cockroach. When the nuclear holocaust razes the Earth, I will still be sitting in front of my computer posting on NeoGAF.

It's easy not to get banned honestly. Look before you post continues to work wonders for me lol.

define "realistically"

I still want to see a stage based on any of the Operation Rainfall games. Even if they don't have a character. I know I always bring it up the the final boss area in Pandora's Tower would make a great stage. Especially with that music.

If not I know a lot of people would be happy with just a Xenoblade stage because of the music even if shulk didn't get in.

Yeah honestly, though I want Shulk in, the music/stage is more of the appeal of Xenoblade making it in for me.

how about a Xenoblade stage AND Shulk

Kind of boring leaks to me :/ a brain age stage would be awesome though. A dr. kawashina boss is what's been missing in my life

Yeah, I just barely got my capture card from them a couple days ago. Shipping can take some time to process, but I haven't had any issues with the 3ds system at all
Okay, bought. Are you going to stream, too?

Well I am a huge MG fan, and you hit the nail on the head. He has a type of purity than many people that choose not to learn about him just simply will never understand. He's one of a kind, truly, in a sea of characters trying to diversify themselves.

That's why him being in Smash made me so fucking happy. Not only was it just a fan's dream come true, but he got a better chance to show off what he really is, a hero, in a more clear way, and to people that don't necessarily know a lot about him. Someone that belongs with Mario, Link, and Samus. He was raised in nearly the same way as Mario was, and continues to move video games forward in a way that only certain Nintendo franchises can rival. His inclusion was like being reunited with a long lost family that was separated at birth, and then fucking celebrating.

Not to mention his incredible moveset and diversity in style to the rest of the cast, it makes me so sad to see how many people just seem to throw all that away and see him as some sort of Sony soldier. Dissapointed, even. I just don't understand it, and I never will.

Also, he's still not cut yet. I obviously have a firm position on how bad I want him included, but I still know there's a good possibilty he can be cut. But he's not yet.

To quote the great Josh Nichols, "Hug me, brotha".

In all honesty it's been over a year since the game was announced and we've got less than a month till the game comes out, and we still don't really have any real reason to suspect Snake is in the game beyond a view obscure and unreliable voice actor leaks. Nothing Sakurai, Kojima, or anyone within Nintendo or Konami have said clearly point in Snake's favor.

I still haven't entirely given up because I still just can't fathom why such an iconic and unique character would be cut. Sakurai and Kojima both have absolutely nothing to lose by this character being in the game, and even as we're this close to launch I have trouble picturing a scenario where one of them deliberately says Snake can't be in SSB4. I also have trouble imagining a scenario where Nintendo steps in and says that. I just fail to see what party involved would have a problem with Snake's return. And the sad part is, if the way cuts between Melee and Brawl were handled are any indication, it's unlikely Sakurai will ever come out and give the reasoning behind him being cut, along with any other character who doesn't return.

The whole situation just blows, man. Much like you, the worst part is seeing how hateful some of the fans can be for no real reason. If he had been cut because Nintendo and Konami couldn't work out an agreement, then okay I guess, business is business. I'd be disappointed but I'd understand that's the nature of these types of games.

However, knowing that it's been a year and a half long debate of people spitting at each other, throwing around slander, and making assumptions before there's any reason to believe one way or the other just leaves an awful feeling in my stomach. A veteran character's status has caused some of the most petty arguments and mindless console fanboy arguments I've seen in a very long time. And if Snake doesn't return, like, I just feel like an idiot for ever thinking he had a chance. I'll have been wrong in everything I've said in his favor for the last year and a half and everyone else will be right.

Damn, dude, just bring Snake back already.

:((

Snake is my main and he's got my favorite playstyle in the history of Smash. I'll be hella sad to see him go.

Seems like lots of us, including me, have big long feelings to share about Snake in Smash and cuts in general today.

We might consider a support group in the wake of the game's release.

Both you and Durden put it beautifully.

I'm all for snake like a lot of others and it's definitely the nasty comments we have had since the game was announced about his inclusion that has made things harder to deal with. Whatever the outcome can be. He's such a divisive character but as you two and many others have put there's a reason why so many people feel so strongly about his inclusion.

Had to really think about five "realistic" choices that I'd enjoy seeing, and 2 & 5 are on the low end of the "realism" scale.

1) Paper Mario
2) Ridley
3) Mewtwo
4) Ganon
5) Isaac

Unrealistically, if Fawful ever somehow, someway, through incredibly divine intervention, made it onto a Smash roster I would be on Cloud Nine. The dialogue from this nut
bean
alone would be worth the price of admission. Love that guy.

The sad part about this is we'll never know which leak was right until after the game comes out. At this point, you can't believe anybody unless they post pictures.

I'm not a huge Snake fan, but I hate people shitting on other people's good time. Waluigi is one of my least wanted newcomers, but that doesn't mean I needed to rub it in when he got Assist Trophy status.
Granted, I wasn't a member yet!

Nah man. There's nothing wrong with your reasoning. But I do get what you're saying, and it fucking sucks. If he actually is cut, then it's going to feel like he was "kicked out" because of all the needless hate that has been spouted at him for so long. When in reality, we'll probably never know, but I highly doubt it was actually that.

It makes me so upset to see the almighty Solid Snake reduced to.....this. Not even a character in many people's eyes, but just some sort of idea. An idea that everyone tries to bring to the conclusion they want as quickly as possible.

Either way, I'm not stopping. He's not cut yet, and there's still no firm evidence that he is, no matter what people like to think. I know that he certainly can be, but he's not.

And even if I end up being very disappointed in the end, somebody's gotta not just succumb to hate and sadness. In times like these, maybe it's time to show how much this character and series has attached to certain people....at the risk of being mocked...

He's in my blood. I'll support this legend 'till the very fuckin end.

I will accept whatever's given, but I'm not fully out of this until Sept. 13th unless we get some true hard evidence one way or the other. Let's go Snake. Come at me bros.

That's a fucking awesome tattoo; I've always loved the art of Metal Gear Solid.

Have we seen any new ones yet? I can't remember if we have.
Nope.
