Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 12: Gwah, hah. Welcome to the Bowser's game.

ESRB actually rates DLC if it's inconsistent with the original rating of the product. If Snake was considered too violent for E10+, they'd actually have to pass him by them.

But I don't actually know if Snake would actually warrant bumping it up a tier.

Doubtful wasn't it Wario who caused more of a problem on the ESRB than snake for Brawl.

But for internal tracking purposes, to tell one build from one, they might've named it that for themselves. I do something similar with drafts of papers and videos I produce for work. And someone with a sense of humor at the Treehouse might've added the other flourish ("8008S").

I hate to say this, but that's a stretch.

Well yeah, I guess that's true. So in the end, the roster would really be complete. The cuts are really the only thing that suck about it,I don't really need many more newcomers at this point, I just want the vets to return.

I do think Dark Pit is very dumb though. Along with Doc returning.

I think all things considered Dark Pit would be the worst addition to Smash to date from a character standpoint but I'm already prepared to accept him just in case.

It's easy to justify anything if you believe hard enough. That's how conspiracy theories work.

If Snake were to be DLC, what would be a fair price to charge?

What if he's DLC, and only people who buy him can use him, and he's MORE powerful than Brawl? :D There you go, Nintendo finances saved.

Fakes are in the details amigos.

While the hand model could've changed, the finger is slightly off and overall looks like a fatter hand. The right I took from treehouse video at E3.

#TeamFake

The hand has always moved when you select. Thats why the hand and figure looks longer and more extended. it actually races out and presses down.

Also you can select outline width, who's to say that won't extend to the hand/cursor.

I'm not saying it's reason to believe, only that explanations exist and that it's not far out there for different builds to have working names.

The nice thing is, we'll know whether this is fake as soon as we see a new character render.

Perhaps that Game Boy stage is counted as his?

So Kirby, one of the major franchises in Smash, is relegated to one transformation of a generic Gameboy stage? I would be shocked if that were true. Either that pink stage is the Kirby stage, or this "leak" is toast (I mean, it is anyway, but this would re-toast it.)

I'd pay 20 bucks for Snake with a Big Boss ALT no joke.
MGS fans got the money.

I couldn't imagine Sakurai charging for extra characters.

I'd love this roster. Also, take comfort, the same guy who posted it said Snake is DLC along with Lucas, Wolf, Ice Climbers, and Chorus Kids.

So yeah. If it's real, you'll get Snake back. He just won't be there out of the box.

Same. It'd suck if Lucas and Wolf were DLC, but I was in love with the idea of Bowser Jr. (+ Koopalings as his swaps?) and DAT DAMN DOG. ever since the original rumors started.

Compared to when Brawl's list got leaked, this roster actually would make me happy.

The big thing that's throwing me off here is how DK, Metroid and WarioWare only get past stages. There's plenty of handheld titles for those franchises to draw from.

Have folks forgotten about Rhythym Heaven?

This too. No way they just tossed in a Sneaky Spirit in Smash Run for the heck of it.

I will pay them what they need, however they need it. Without him being more powerful.

We don't actually know what the Game Boy is. Could just be a Kirby's Dream Land stage with a little flourish at the beginning.

How do we know the stage is just a generic Game Boy stage though? The only screenshot we have of it is the Nintendo logo dropping down. Perhaps the stage is called "Kirby's Dream Land" and is based entirely off of the Game Boy game after the logo drops a la an original Game Boy. After all, the 3DS version is meant to have stages based on handheld games and the Kirby's Dream Land series was where the little puffball started.

EDIT: And now that I think about it, I don't see the fact that Kirby and Dedede were in this photo to be a simple coincidence, either.

Yoshi being in the middle of the main Mario reps and the clones segregated near the bottom is really weird. They've never done stuff like that on the select screen before.

I wouldn't be surprised if certain series only got original stages on one version or the other, and Sakurai recycled past stages to save time. So DK gets new stage in WiiU version but recycled stage in 3DS version, etc.

I don't see any reason to assume that since the WarioWare games have been E10+ since that rating was created.

edit: actually they've ranged from E-E10

Well the only rating for the T was this
Cartoon Violence, Crude Humor

All of the games had Cartton but not Crude
http://www.esrb.org/ratings/search.jsp?searchType=title&titleOrPublisher=Super Smash Bros Brawl Wii

Only things I can think of that were crude was Warios Fart and MAYBE snake saying he had to take off his gear to catch samus.

Are you talking about the fart?

He farts for his super attack in Mario Strikers Charged, but that game is E10+.

Then I really don't know why the T was there.

Honestly, most Mother fans haven't even bothered with Mother 1. Dang thing's brutal at times and has the most tedious encounter rate ever at others.

Magicant would be such a cool stage though...

Mother 1 is still fun if you can get past how grindy it is and how vague it is about where to go next. The regular enemies are harder than most bosses too. I'm glad I made it through it. It has a pretty damn awesome final boss, just like every final boss in the series.

It's more likely that the Game Boy stage cycles through multiple games and they just happen to show off the Kirby title in the thumbnail.

Or, this being a portable entry, that could be the Kirby stage and it's in the style of the original, complete with the GB frame.

If this has any sort of chance of being real, I wonder if the DLC characters were known because they would be included in the Wii U version?

Sakurai had made connectivity a point a few times now, so I think another great incentive to buy both versions would be if you buy the Wii U version, you get those characters as free DLC in the 3DS version. And it would continue to give the Wii U version more hype until launch.

I always thought this idea was fairly valid and stuff,

That's possible, but it seems unlikely to me. If it was just a Kirby stage, why show the rest of the Gameboy? Why not just make a stage based on KD1? It looks much more like Flat Zone, i.e., a stage celebrating a whole console.

The fact that Kirbey and Dedede were in the original PotD may well indicate the GB stage has a Kirby transformation, but it just doesn't seem likely to me that they would put all that extraneous Gameboy stuff (and that the pic's caption would be all about the Gameboy and nothing about Kirby) if it was Kirby's stage.

this is a pretty nice update for my birthday

Happy birthday!

Only one Marth alt deserves to be in Smash - the original.
Fe1marthfalchion.png

Looks too much like Pit.

Why does Samus have oil on some parts of her body?

Why not?

Well now the character boxes get a little crooked. Even more fake now.

That is because the person who overlaid them used pics with different dimensions. You'll see the bottom stays the same as the original pic because the new pic didn't include that content.

You realize the hands are animated, right?

I kind of want Duck Hunt to be an actual character because

I'm getting mad Banjo vibes from that render. Who needs a bear and bird when you have a dog and duck?
