I get that, but I just feel weird with the idea of Lucas/Wolf not being there from the jump. That's all.

This is what happens when people are willing to believe anything.
People had too many different ideas about what constituted fake or real. The model was different but Palutena was in which some people thought meant it was real.

As you guys know, this was one of the allegedly leaked pictures from the /v/ thread that I reposted here.
After that thread died down, a user that I will not identify at this time contacted me claiming that the above picture is an edit of some sort that they made. Of what and to what extent, they didn't specify, and they haven't replied to my queries about it.
I'm not sure to what this means for the rest of the alleged leak, but I suppose you should ignore this picture for the time being, or at least regard it with more skepticism than the rest.

Eh. Is it a trustworthy user? What evidence did he have to support that it was an edit? I donno if I'd believe it without evidence.
I think the only user who I'd believe if that flat out called it real or fake would JoeM86.

To continue beating a dead horse, all of the pictures are at an angle (or have part of the screen outside of the picture), which is something that is often done to make leaks look authentic. Taking a picture straight on is not that hard, especially if you have the access that this leaker supposedly would have.

It's there to make the impulse buy of DLC all the more tempting. It's a hateful tactic but we'll see if Nintendo actually goes through with something familiar.

Nope, there was no signs pointing towards the pictures being fake. It was mainly disbelief that Palutena would be in at all.

Since I'm feeling like sharing some Xenoblade hype tonight, here's some badass Xenoblade music. Also, it's coming off of my new laptop hype.
It was never supposed to be about the validity of the claim (Palutena in Smash 4) but the validity of the leak (the images). But as it snowballed out of control it took on way too many meanings.

Lol that actually happened? All I remember is that everyone was going insane and a lot of people started to shit on Serebii when he stood by the starters being real.

I still don't see them charging for the DLC. Still convinced it's a post release patch adding them in to coincide with the WiiU version launch, so the roster isn't entirely spoiled. They could even just be on the cart and the patch just unlocks them.

The models are different.
However people can always claim that they fixed it up in development, so there will be no true closure.
I understand that but there's some people who legit think that Dr. Mario was literally chosen over one of those characters when, if he's in the game, it's because he was easy as hell to make as a full blown character because his main assets would already exist in Smash 4. Wolf/Lucas would not be in any form of development and that's why they wouldn't be in the game, not because Sakurai chose between having Dr. Mario or Lucas/Wolf.

Unlike the Palutena leak which at best is left an inconclusive as the leaked model could have been unfinished this leak will either be 100% confirmed or denied once any veteran or newcomer is revealed and does/doesn't have that model.

I think we will learn a lot about Nintendo's DLC plans by seeing what they do with MK8 DLC. So far we have the Mercedes DLC which is three free karts but that isn't telling because it's just an advertisement. When we see the first new cup or new characters/kart parts and whether they charge or are free I feel we will have a good idea how Nintendo will treat DLC with their biggest franchises

We even have early Smash 4 screenshots that look different than what we currently see on the website.
Go back and look at some really early dailies and things will be subtly different.

Still isn't enough to declare the Palutena leak 100% true.
In other words there is no way to tell either way based on that.
The good thing is this leak will not be as ambiguous.
And I recall most people debating the validity of the leak, not Palutena herself.

Someone did come forward and 'admit' to faking the Gen 5 starters' evos when they leaked.
That was a terrible week. It's a big part of why I no longer post on there forums at Serebii much any more (I had a minor break down). Poor Joe was in a tight spot, too - 4chan went insane - and he knew the starters were real but couldn't say why.
