I don't believe this simply because it's way too good to be true.
Losing Ice Climbers and Snake is nothing compared to having all those characters in the roster.

Here's a question:

How expensive would the DLC have to be to make you not buy it?

Let's say give a number for Individual Character Cost and a number for All Character Bundle Cost, and assume there's 5 characters total as DLC.

We're not talking about what you think the prices SHOULD be, it's at what point do you go "this is crazy, I'm not paying that much for a character"? Or do you even have the willpower to say no?

I'd rather not say for fear of Nintendo reading this.

Personally, what bothers me the most about this leak (going by the written report that this is the full content of the base game and also the mention of DLC) is that the supposed DLC characters really sound like ones that might as well be in the base game, rather than actual additions. Now, of course, this is better than those characters just being cut to make launch time, but I don't like that trend, especially with even the character selection screen apparently being designed with the space for those specific DLC characters in mind already. Also no Ivysaur even with DLC...

I don't see why people were expecting Demise in the first place. All the confirmed Zelda characters besides Toon Link are still using their Twilight Princess designs.

Demise really wouldn't look out of place next to Twilight Princess characters though. And sticking with the TP designs for the main trio could happen in spite of a Skyward Sword character being added due to no Ganondorf in Skyward Sword.

Besides that, Demise is too big.

He's about the same size as Twilight Princess Ganondorf, who got shrunk for Smash.

Not to mention Tomodachi Life never giving players that sort of angle on a room for screenshots. We're getting into "the guy behind this leak had to build an entire polygonal room based on a screenshot that had not been released yet for a 50x50 pixel blob on a blurry screenshot" area with the leak stuff which just makes the whole thing sound insane.

That room only requires you level up a Mii once to get. Once they had that it's easy enough to take photos of the room and put together a blurry room. It's not an impossible task.

Haha, I love that Ridley and Mewtwo not being in it is proof for it being real for the Japanese commenters. I guess the demand for those two is mostly from western audiences?

Well, of course. The only reason this leak has gained traction is because it has provided evidence in the form of pictures that would be really hard to fake (not out of the realm of possibility, hence the discussion). This is how discussing leaks work In comparison, the amount of effort that it would take to fake being the leaker while not providing similarly strong evidence just to get attention is really low and thus doesn't deserve attention. *Specially* when the news come from someone in a community that rewards this sort of information. 4chan being completely anonymous at all, the original leaker also has this in his/her favor.

That's not the correct room. It's this one.

And I know how to edit images. I'm an animator and work in both 3D and 2D, I have extensive knowledge of how to use Photoshop. Don't try to talk to me about not knowing how image editing works, yo.

You're focusing on the wrong thing. Anyone could fake this room. But nobody knew this room was in, at this specific angle, until the day after the leak. You would have to be INCREDIBLY lucky to not only choose a room that hasn't shown up in a screenshot before but to ALSO pick the correct angle for the room to be shown at.

But why would you put a random room out of the main game into your fake leak instead of a room that has already be seen? It wouldn't have been suspicious at all to just take something that is already known. Like this on the other hand the danger that the leak is getting debunked because the faker randomly chose a room from Tomodachi that wasn't confirmed for Smash yet is incredibly high. There just needs to be a playable demo or a Trailer or more PotD which never show this room and it would be debunked.

That's a really huge gamble.

Exactly. This guy knows what's up. If they wanted the leak to be 'safe' they would choose a room we've already seen. They chose a room we had never seen before, which the very next day showed up in Famitsu.

Either they got an early copy of Famitsu and then altered the camera angle in the image (not impossible but very unlikely) or the leak is real and Famitsu basically confirmed it for us.

However that one tiny image isn't enough of a confirmation for me, or it seems, almost anyone else. We need something more substantial to really cement this, if it's real.

In his semi-weekly column in Weekly Famitsu, Sakurai noted that at the time of writing, he is currently in the middle of the debug process for the 3DS version of the new Smash Bros. Debugging is where a team tests a game for any unintended glitches for the programmers to fix before the final product is released. the process is time-consuming, painstaking, and potentially ripping-out-fists-full-of-hair frustrating.

I guess it's pretty much confirmed that it haven't went gold yet.

No, but the amount of new comers would be absurd with that list and there'd be a lot of sad, disappointing cuts. I think the only reason quite a lot of people believe this roster is because of the DLC with vets in it. I know if that wasn't the case and the DLC was Ridley or whatever, I'd start asking questions on why Polar Bear is in Smash Run, or how they plan to fix 6 characters into 5 slots.

No need to be this defensive. I was just making a note of how we should distinguish between claims that merit attention and claims that are piggybacking off them. This enhances the discussion and keeps it from getting muddled with dubious claims. It's actually pretty good life advice on how to do logical reasoning too.
