The stage in the leak showing up for a reveal in an issue of famitsu later seems legit.
I believe it, and I want to believe the "dlc leak". I want Snake, I want Wolf. I want Dr. Mario.

So...if Sakurai finally reveals Ridley as a Stage Hazard.
What would that do for the leak? We've got some sources related to it saying he's in as playable, yet it's not part of the actual picture leak.

It'd probably depend on which Ridley it was. I can see people still hanging on if it were the Other M abomination.
As far as I'm concerned 4chan Leak 1 and 2 is the believable part. Anything added by Smashboards mods smacks of coattail riding.

This whole thread and part of the last one is just me making that same expression while reading some of these posts.
Considering the Ridley hinted at during the direct on Pyrosphere was the Other M abomination, then people shall still hang.

Honestly my main concern is how much of the information is complete and what parts came from what people.
I've heard people saying Ridley, Dixie, and I think some others are also part of the leak without any images, is there any reason to believe that? Despite the oddities I can actually imagine playing SSB4 and seeing the select screen we see in this leak, but I have trouble imagining we'll be getting even more newcomers beyond DHD, Jr., Shulk and Dark Pit, Ridley in particular. The comment about nearing the bottom of the barrel of newcomer trailers does not sound to me like we'll be getting more than 2 or 3 more max, and I'm pretty sure anyone newcomer with a unique moveset will be getting one.
The other thing is the DLC list... do we know for sure that it's from the same guy who initially posted the leak? Because my enjoyment of the roster hinges on that heavily, things will feel super empty without those 5 characters.

After reading that dude who won the Comic-Con Tourney impressions, I guess it really implanted that thought that it reminds me of 64 a bit lol.
A 4chan user named "MOTHERFUCKING LEAKER" (I'm not making this up) leaked not only the pictures, but also the 5 DLC characters. The Ridley, Dixie, etc. came from some other guy who quoted a rumor mill from a while back that seemed to match up with the recent leaks.
So in short, yes, the DLC & the pictures came from the same source.

Yeah, this is pretty much where I'm at. I'm #TeamReal, but I utside of the Tomodachi stuff (which isn't exactly concrete), I can't really give a good reason to believe in the leak other than a gut feeling, and the fact that it hasn't been disproven. I also really want Dr Mario and Duck Hunt. We really just need to wait on more pics of the day.
So it's possible they're both saying the same thing? Leaker 3 says they're just not unlocked, but maybe you need a DLC code (from the WiiU version?) to unlock them?

...I think. I don't know, that part is definitely harder to take seriously than the rest of it. It's hard enough to come up with a scenario where an ESRB employee would have access to all this stuff and be leaking it, but at least there's what appears to be photo evidence. But that same employee knowing the DLC plans and just throwing them out there despite having proof of everything else? I'd want to believe it without a doubt, but I'm much more inclined to believe the pictures than the text leak.
We need another smash run pic for maximum power.

I'm not sure it was an ESRB employee. All I do know is whomever did leak the video (if true) was fired shortly after.

Another answer I can explain.
Ever since the GTA Hot Coffee incident, all DLC that has data within the base game has to be reported to the ESRB. If this leak is legit (both of them), the 5 DLC characters had data within the game (character portraits, animations, textures, models, etc.) that are either complete & dormant or unfinished. Regardless of the scenario, the ESRB must be aware of it. That would explain how those 5 were leaked out as well.

Went to Fred Meyer's on my lunch break earlier today, and saw Other M for sale brand new lol.
i think the leaker said his friend who works for esrb sent him it. i could be making that up though.

My Gamecube controller broke a few years ago when I was cleaning it. The left analog stick rotates itself (not around the octagon gate, but twists itself while the stick is in place). This makes it incredibly difficult to use. Is there any way to fix this or any replacement?
