My weekend trip got cancelled. Two days away from Smash talk and general insanity, gone.

And now... I'm here.

I don't want to smash in your world of DK raps that manage to lose what little appeal the original had to begin with.

Going back to that music list, main theme/underworld was a brawl mix for Zelda I'm sure right down to the naming.
Don't worry, it's not a rap any more, it's a latin opera.

Hic, hic, hic sumus.
Sic erant 'hic demum,
Faciendo enim vobis,
Quod si nosti in verbis,
Potest iungere in nimis.

Mitte manum tuam, compresserunt si vis,
Ut accipiat te per nos, id elit rap!

Huh !!
AK; Asinus Kong !!

Ille dux globo bene nostis eum.
Ut tandem ad aliquam lectus caudam.
Dolor in suum Gun ignis emicat.
Si ille quondam ya, suus amet dolui;
Ille est maior et velocius, et fortior est.
Ille primum AK in turba;

Ugh, they put up their remix of the Pokemon XY Trainer Battle/Greninja reveal music and they cut out like the best remaining minute left of it.

*lyrics that may or may not make sense*

Well this changes everything, to balance things out the Fire Emblem theme will now become the Fire Emblem rap, I probably shouldn't try to put that one together myself.

Instead of PotDs we will get Clip of the Days which are 10 second music clips from songs in the game.

Only 15 more PotDs until release. ONE of these has got to be a vet right?

This is the best update in a long time purely because it means we're getting regular music updates.

I'm more than satisfied.

The 3DS version being a Nintendo music player is fucking amazing. Seriously, being able to play songs while in Sleep Mode is brilliant.

Just an observation, but we've had a mode/gui update every week since Robin's reveal.

1. main menu

2. bomb smash

3. trophy shop/trophy viewer

4. smash run bento/powers

5. music/voice player

Yeah, that's why I went through the old Direct and Digital Event to see what else we need info on. Two more mini games at least.

Pic of the day. The 3DS version has an excellent Sounds collection! The design looks nice for a sound test screen, doesn't it? The font color for the "Remix" text on remixed songs comes in pink or white. The pink ones are songs arranged for this version of Super Smash Bros., while the white ones are remixes made in earlier Smash Bros. games. This means there are reoccuring songs from past releases.

Choose your songs and play with features on the bottom screen. You can listen to character voices, too. One of the new highlights for this feature is the "Play in Sleep Mode" option in the upper right. If you turn this on, you can listen to the tracks with your headphones even when your Nintendo 3DS is closed. The L and R Buttons will let you skip tracks. This means you can use it as a portable music player. Enjoy listening to the tracks you love by putting all songs in loop, shuffle, or selecting your favorite tracks!!

In Smash Run, the background music plays randomly from the songs you select from the track list. This means you can customize your own song lineup!! Usually each stage has two tracks-which makes for a lot of songs on its own-but as a bonus, we've added more songs for you to enjoy in Smash Run and in the Sounds area.

By the way, here's another music announcement!! You can now listen to some of the tracks on the official website. We're planning to add more tracks a little at a time, so stay tuned.

Great news.

Music in sleep mode too? That's incredible.

A big question is if the dojo will overlap with famitsu information. We've had some stuff explained more explicitly in famitsu that hasn't been shown on the dojo. (Like the famitsu article that fully explained the way single player classic works now)

The notable missing points to me right now are:

1. Challenges haven't been shown outside of the starting GUI.

2. Streetpass functionality is essentially secret as well.

3. rules for matches like flower smash etc.

4. In-depth explanation of the customization GUI (miis?)

5. that red/green/blue team graph screen.

6. The pin needle mini game.

There's also some minor stuff like betting on matches, tips, an actual explanation for that dropping blocks mode.

So far every daily shot that's been about modes/gui functions either talked about an entirely new element or very minor changes to old modes. (We got a homerun contest update after all.)

With the content shown in the 3ds trailer we could technically have the next 2 weeks being exclusively GUI/mode updates.

I am still way too fucking hype about this.

I just don't feel like Sakurai would bring back a composer that's obvious main area is Metal Gear Solid without bring Snake back. I don't see how that makes sense. She hasn't even been affiliated with Nintendo officially with anything at all, EXCEPT for Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Snake was fuckin in that game hardcore. Yeah....

It's done. My hype train is in over-drive. I've gone from thinking around a 60% for Snake, to about 90%. I'm either going to crash and burn like no other before me, or this is going to be the greatest thing ever.

If Little Mac and Snake are playable in the same game I'm probably gonna go into a coma.

This makes me want to play through Awakening again, oddly enough.

I'm with you though, Awakening's soundtrack was so solid, I can't wait to see what they do in Smash with it.

Kondoh did a good job with it, but I'm more interested to see what they do with some of the older installments' soundtracks. Especially if there's even one Gaiden arrangement.

Speaking of which, why isn't Kondoh credited? We know Id ~ Purpose is in the game...

And then you find out all she did was arrange the NSMB theme.

Toda's inclusion definitely soft-confirms Snake's inclusion for me, the same as Chico/Kudo's for Shulk (sadly). With other composers, there's room for doubt, but it seems really unlikely that they'd hire those particular people just for arrangements from other series.

Masashi Hamauzu?

I think you guys really need to keep your Snake hype in check... this list of musicians, as amazing as it is, doesn't really change things much where he's concerned. Yasunori Mitsuda is on there with his all-important Chrono Trigger credit, but just as with Brawl, that doesn't mean Crono's going to be playable (not that that wouldn't be awesome...).

I hope Snake does come back for ya'll's sake, I'm just saying... try not to set your expectations too terribly high just because of this. :P

Come on guys, for your own sake, don't read too much into their usual compositions. Sakurai reaches out to them and offers them a chance to arrange a bit of Nintendo music. They could choose to arrange music from a game they worked on that is also represented in Smash or go for something completely different (unless you're Koji Kondo who must only arrange the Super Mario Bros theme). I mean Hirokazu Tanaka might decide he wants to arrange the title theme to Brain Training for all we know. It has a hip beat after all.

I mean otherwise you'd have to argue iM@S definitely has a rep, items, a stage and even its own game mode what with seven iM@S composers working on this. That would make you as mad as me and I doubt you'd want that.

Masashi Hamauzu?

Aside from his FF and SaGa stuff, he's arranged pieces for Koshiro in the past, as well as doing the Donkey Kong Country, Kirby and Pikmin arrangements for Symphonic Legends and contributing to a Megaman and Castlevania album. He's a more explicable choice as arranger by far.
