Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread XIII: Leak Dynasty

Come to think about it, Shogo Sakai (Mother 3's composer, who also worked for Melee and Brawl) is absent.

Yeah, he told me he wouldn't be working on this iteration of Smash, which made me sad. :( There's also a good number of pieces from Air Ride he was also responsible for, but hopefully we'll at least get solid arrangements of his brilliant music!

Oh that's too bad. He probably did more arrangements for Melee and Brawl than any other composer. I still remember the Iwata Asks where that made fun of him for being bad at video games. Great composer.

Thank guys.

I actually started writing my post with pure intentions of empathy, but then when I realised the irony of the second part, I had an "oh wait" moment myself. That's why I put in the "oh wait". I didn't mean it in a bad way, I promise! I'm really sorry for making an insensitive joke.

No harms! I understand your intention, and dont worry about it. Just get hype for Smash! :D

I noticed him missing from the list but I was at least expecting Wii U version tracks as opposed to nothing at all, he had quite a number of Brawl remixes behind him including my favourite (Mother 3 love theme) so this is a shame.

Yeah, he's extremely talented and incredibly versatile as a composer. It was really cool watching him conduct an arrangement of his own music from "Glory of Heracles" at Press Start a few years ago. :D

And I haven't seen that Iwata Asks! Which one is it?

Likewise. :( That arrangement is truly love incarnate! Some of his pieces might make it into the game when all is said and done, but my guess is that they will have been arranged by another composer.

Eh we weren't really being creepy or anything. It was probably cause that Ridley picture drove everyone insane. We were pretty off topic too.

Wow I just caught up with the last 20 pages this morning and I'm glad I went to bed early.

#TeamReal lives another day(or few)!

Holy shit I woke up and saw there were like 30 new pages after I left yesterday I swore the leak had been confirmed (or unconfirmed). You guys are insane.

Cool music update though.

This update throws some well needed doubt onto the 'leak' though, so I guess things will calm down now.

What in the world are you even talking about? The music update doesn't affect the legitimacy of the leak one way or the other in the slightest. Like, not even a little.

But if you really want to read into something that isn't there, a Metal Gear Solid 4 musician is listed, which gives Snake an outside chance at returning, which means Snake could return as DLC, one of the things mentioned by the alleged leaker... which, if anything, only slightly strengthens the leak.

Not that I believe anything in the above paragraph is a valid argument, mind you, but my point is that the music updates don't affect the leak at all either way.

I don't quite understand why Smash Run would get exclusive music. If you're including, say, 3 Donkey Kong songs, but only 2 are on the stage... why can't the third one be. There's no hard rule every stage needs 2 songs and if it's in the game anyway...

ah super smash bros! i have such fond memories of playing these games with mates although i don't think i'll be buying a wii u or 3ds unfortunately

Kongo Jungle and Gear Getaway being in the 3DS version's track list can mean one of three things.

1. The leak is correct, those two tracks play on Jungle Japes, and past stages may not necessarily include the music that was originally on them in previous games.

2. The leak's stage roster is incomplete.

3. The stage roster leak is fake.

As far as being realistic goes, I rank these scenarios 3>1>2.

YES MUSIC OMFG

AND WAIT A FUCKING MOMENT

ONE PIECE?!?!?!?!?!

4kids One Piece theme will be an alt track on every stage.

God damn, that main theme is growing on me so bad, it might be my favorite Smash theme.

Even though that's an arrangement, I still stand by that the theme itself was composed by Junichi Nakatsuru, like I said months back, and seeing his name on the list is great.

Maybe they felt the need to retire the DK Rap? Or Gear Getaway is a Smash Run only song.

I don't think this effects the leak either way.

Sakurai quite explicitly stated some smashrun-exclusive music will be in there as well.

No, no, no. In the second Pic of the Day, both Kongo Jungle and Gear Getaway are listed with pink stars, which according to Sakurai marks them as new arrangements.

Oooooh, I missed that.
