Now to wait and see how Nick fucks with Season 4![]()
What we needed was one flashback episode showing the formation of the Red Lotus and them attempting to kidnap Korra.
Nailed it.
I agree with ObbyDent.I think her reaction here is how Book 1 should have happened. It had much more of an emotional impact, and you actually felt like Korra was broken. It just felt more measured and painful (and less melodramatic). Korra literally looks broken here.
Although I suppose with Book 3, it's more of a mixture of her happiness for what she accomplished, as well as her suffering for what she had to go through to get it. It's a pretty great ending. I saw some people earlier not liking it. But I thought it was actually a really great/mature ending for this show.
Yeah, that is again the problematic nature of how this show handles characters. We never really understood how Zaheer became the person he is today. We never got a lot of insight into his fierce dedication to his philosophies. So intense, that when the love of his life died, he could quickly suppress his emotions and detach himself.
But we are expected to know that Zaheer is a man who cares deeply about his philosophy, who is willing to sacrifice everything. Which to be fair, 99% of the time we see Zaheer, he's meditating. So we do see HOW dedicated he is. I guess it would have been nice to get a little more insight into how he became so dedicated. Basically, a little more exposition and time with Zaheer might have fleshed him out a bit more. Logically though, I think it made sense.
Wasn't there some canon online game where Aang had to "fix" the avatar state after Azula killed him?
Anyone else think thatlooks A LOT likeJinora as a master? I mean, its for obvious reasons, but they look just a bit too similar for my liking.Aang, that one Avatar kid

I don't get the whole hostage situation....
Why didn't they have the airship at the place where Zaheer was and have Korra at the temple? They could tell her that he has no hostages and she could enter all Avatar State and destroy. What will they do now? Go off and murder the air benders. The air benders were already in the process of escaping... I made a better plan in less than a second.
Side note, I wanted to apologize to you for earlier. I was actually at a doctors appointment and was on my phone. I legitimately had no idea what you were talking about, and thought you were saying I was saying something..I wasn't saying! I didn't realize until after the fact that my initial post was poorly worded. So that was all on me that others didn't understand what I said. Still, no excuse for the aggressive exchange. Won't happen again. Hope we can move past things and be friends.![]()

You do realize that would never work. Why would Zaheer even agree to those terms. He has the hostages after all and it would have resulted in the execution of 99% of the new Air Nation.
Ah, no biggie. Glad we were able to sort out that business.
The hostages were inside guarded by Ming-Hua and Ghazan. That "better plan" would not have worked at all.
Zaheer said for Korra to meet him at the rock place. He wasn't going to bring hostages. They could have sent the airship without Korra and radio once they've confirmed there were no hostages. Korra could have went into the air temple and beat Ghuzan and the other chick. 2 down, 2 to go. Zaheer would have to rethink his strategy if he wanted to continue. The air benders hostages were useless now since he doesn't have the other 2 heavy hitters. If Zaheer brought a hostage with him it would be different, but he did say the hostages were at the air temple. : /
Yknow, I'm kind of disappointed that that one Guru Laghima quote that was allegedly going to be in the episodes was never spoken. It was a pretty good quote.
I was once asked what it means to enter the void. I will tell you. An airbender may meditate for a hundred years trying to detach herself from the world, but she cannot do it. Humans cherish human life, and by that they are bound to this world.
"The only way to abandon the world is to abandon one's humanity. New growth cannot exist without first the destruction of the old. The void is found in the sowing of death. From that death springs life on the wind."
Where is that quote from? Sounds pretty cool.
That meditation sequence always gives me chills in a good way.
"Let go of your earthly tether. Enter the void. Empty, and become wind"
So badass.
So what's the deal with that one soldier who shows up in the last episode and is given a name, but then she neither does something nor appears again?

So whats the power chart looking like now
Earth: Sand Metal Lava
Fire: Lightning combustion
Water: Ice healing blood
Air. . . . flight?
Could they really not come up with something better for air
Did you forget suffocation?
Thats just air bending though
What about pressure? Like theoretical detonate or crush someone with an near-vacuum.So whats the power chart looking like now

They WERE at the Air Temple. Bolin, Mako, and Asami were sent to retrieve the hostages, while Korra was sent to Zaheer.
I also think you are overestimating Korra's abilities against a master lava bender and a crazy water chick.
She can enter the Avatar state at will and become super powerful. The Avatar State is peak Avatar power. Aang defeated Ozai easily while in the Avatar state and he was using Sozin's Comet. These two would get roflstomped so fast Toph Beifong would feel the vibrations.Even when weakened by poison she was stomping them.
In a writing standpoint, they would never let her just go into the Avatar state just to take out two Red Lotus members. Ever.
I'm sorry, but I'm glad you didn't write the scenario for Into The Void.
The avatar state has been poorly used throughout legend of korra. As a defense mechanism it never actually works when it should and when she should be using it, she never does. Bryan and Mike never should have written in her gaining complete control of it in book 1.She can enter the Avatar state at will and become super powerful. The Avatar State is peak Avatar power. Didn't we also agree that astral projection is a form of air bending? Still kind of fuzzy on that. Didn't Jinora say it was? Or she implied it? I was always kind of confused if what Jinora was doing, is something anyone would a deep spiritual connection can do. Or if it's an actual sub-bending ability of the air element.

Amon vs Zaheer and gang... who wins?
I vote Amon.
Only Amon or his troups, too? Does he at least get his core members, Sato and the Lieutenant?Amon vs Zaheer and gang... who wins?
I vote Amon.
Astral Projection seems to be an asspull thing that all of a sudden it's given to airbenders imho. I don't see how as anybody who is spiritual enough should theoretically be able to do it.
So apparently that one woman Zuvira is voiced by Zelda Williams.
somebody else how awkward that makes it if Zaheer makes a return, seeing the VA's comments on suicide and Robin Williams. What a dick.
Only Amon or his troups, too? Does he at least get his core members, Sato and the Lieutenant?
Also, somebody page Stumpakow
If you think about the way he's flying, it's pretty impressive. It's complete control and it essentially opened the door for DBZ fights in season 4 (hopefully it's done better/shorter than DBZ though). Besides, what else could they have done for air? Adjusted the temperature of the air? Anything else just seems too similar to the extended abilities of the other elements. And flight is pretty cool, imo.
GRAVITYBENDING
I'll keep pushing this no matter how little sense it makes.
Thats basically what Zaheer did to some extent. Now they just need to figure out how to do it the opposite way.
Sad that Ghazan is dead. He had the most personality of a villian since Zuko in season one of ATLA.
