PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | August 2014

Man, this is prime time for not only JRPGs but also the Vita.....these past couple of weeks and for the foreseeable future.

Akibas Trip
SAO
Xillia 2
Re;Birth
Danganronpa 2
Destiny (neither JRPG or Vita bit still)
Fairy Fencer F

So many games, not enough time!

Hoping to snag one of those LEs of Re;Birth, looks neat
You add Senran Kagura to that list right now.

Seriously, I am more hype for that game than I have any right to be.

is there not a vita compatible version of metal gear solid? i've been itching to finally try it and all i saw was the remasters of 2 and 3 and the VR missions.
You can download it onto a PS3 and transfer it to a Vita, but it cannot be downloaded directly to one for whatever reason. (If you're in NA)

You need to transfer MGS to Vita via PS3 in North America. You can't directly download it for some reason.

Scheduled PlayStation Network Maintenance

Monday, August 25, 2014 at 9:40 am PT (10:40am MT / 11:40am CT / 12:40am ET) - 4:50pm PT (5:50pm MT / 6:50pm CT / 7:50pm ET)

During this downtime users will be unable to access the following:

PlayStation Store on all devices.

PlayStation Network Account Management.

PlayStation Network Account Registration.

Entertainment services.

Online gameplay – however, you may still play online if you are already signed into your SEN account via the relevant device before the maintenance begins.

Can't log into PSN, Georgia here.

I wanna play PvZ dammit!

EDIT : Oops, didn't realize this thread wasn't for PS4. That's what I'm having the problem on...

A few sites (including PSN) have been DDoSed today. Service is slowly returning and should be working on PS3 and Vita. PS4 still seems out, though. Shortly after things come back, the network is scheduled to go into maintenance.

Too many games, too little time indeed. As I play through Xillia 2, I am realizing that it's impossible for me to finish a JRPG in a week lol. I'm starting to narrow down my pre-orders list to only the stuff that I reaaaaaally want/need. Off the top of my head, my tentative "narrowed down list" in order of release, until the end of the year:

September
1- Danganronpa2
2- Destiny
3- Natural Doctrine (VITA)
4- Persona 4 Arena Ultimax

October
5- Freedom Wars

November
6- Dragon Age: Inquisition
7- Persona Q (3DS game yeah, but it deserves a mention, as it is one of the games I'm the most hyped for)

Of course this is just a tentative list, I'm a weak man. I'm probably going to get more, for example, some of the games that I took out from my initial list lol or newly announced stuff.

If Soul Sacrifice didn't exist, many Vita games wouldn't have existed today.

Even some you wouldn't expect:

While Idea Factory has been supporting and thriving on Vita, as indicated by re-shipments of Monster Monpiece, they almost gave up on the system. In the beginning, only Monster Monpiece was in development and after that they were going to cease Vita development. However, when Sony announced Soul Sacrifice they decided to focus on Vita and develop more games for the system.

Because of this, I will not buy Soul Sacrifice Delta.

Oh shit. Thanks for the info. Looks like it's back up for me now. Hopefully it won't go back down so I can get some PvZ in before maintenance,

Any reports of hacks or anything?

November looks like a crazy month for just about every platform. I fear for Miku's well-being. ;_;

Edit: I can't believe Sega is putting PDF 2nd against Dragon Age, Far Cry, and LBP with Pokemon and Persona Q the week after.

cyborg hasn't even gotten his after 100+ hours, so...
105 now....

I've played like 90 minutes of Delta so far and WOW. Delta really did add a ton of content. I only played like 5 hours of the original too so I wonder how much of the new stuff I won't even notice. I'm sorry I doubted you, baek shi.

I was wondering what you were talking about. Guess that explains that.

I doubt they would offer Delta since they already offered the original on Plus.

We've been saying that since launch.

I'm not a fan of the series nor am I going to buy it most likely (yeah burn me), but I feel like it would do much better if it was brought out earlier, in October. Both September and November are horribly packed with releases.

I'd get most of the titles you mentioned for November alone, but like I said earlier, playing Xillia 2 totally made me realize that it's just unreasonable to rush myself playing a game just for another one that is to come out. At least with this list of mine I don't have multiple titles for one system alone, and I give myself reasonable time to finish them when they do drop on the same platform.

It's a hybrid free-to-play card-collecting 4-player co-op online beat-em-up on Japanese PSN. There are three factions fighting for power and you join one, beat the clothes off the others, and assimilate them to your faction by dressing them up. IIRC, you can use the cards to power up your stats. There were so many menus and they were so convoluted, I ended up just uninstalling it.

But hey, Dangan Ronpa and Kenka Bancho (I think) billboards in the background.

^Yeah, that looks like the box art for Kenka Bancho 4 or 5. Kind of weird that advertise that property on Vita given the next one is on 3DS. Then again, that's happened elsewhere in the past too.

Oh shit. Thanks for the info. Looks like it's back up for me now. Hopefully it won't go back down so I can get some PvZ in before maintenance,

According to Sony, "no personal information has been accessed."

I see no theatrhythm in that list.

Anyone here own an Xbox? You do? Well take this junk off my hands.

Wait, Miku's coming out in November? I thought it was September. Was gonna skip it, but if it's releasing in November I'll probably pick it up. September's pretty packed me, compared to November where I'm only interested in Advanced Warfare.

Still don't know if I'll get Natural Doctrine. It seems interesting but I still have Disgaea 4 for my SRPG fix.

Gosh, the Vita went from being a Persona machine to being my absolute favorite handheld. "The Vita has no games!" they said.

^_^

Forgot to ask: Any of the Child of Light DLCs is really worth/required buying?

Nope golems plight quest is pretty short and you eventually get a stronger party member instead. I thought about getting the skins for the extra spells but I don't think it warrants that price.

What is that , i never heard of it

Call of Duty®: Advanced Warfare, developed by Sledgehammer Games (co-developers of Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® 3), harnesses the first three-year, all next-gen development cycle in franchise history. Call of Duty®: Advanced Warfare envisions the powerful battlegrounds of the future, where both technology and tactic have evolved to usher in a new era of combat for the franchise. Delivering a stunning performance, academy award® winning actor Kevin Spacey stars as Jonathan Irons – one of the most powerful men in the world – shaping this chilling vision of the future of war.

Not exactly required as detailed above, but definitely worth considering is Golem's Plight because it does add a character and subsequently some unique dialogue between characters during the game.

Just bought Soul Sacrifice Delta(sorry flandy and flightmare) . i dont have plus but i could use that discount. i already have vanilla SS but never play more than 6 hours. I like that game but the flaws i saw in it (anoying flaws) seems to be adressed and fixed in the new version. plus they improve the looks . It seems i will have some fun tonight(maybe not if the PSN falls again)

So i changed my console's connection to wired from wireless and there is some weird PSN bug happening. For some reason when i turn on my console I'm unable to connect to PSN. But when i do an internet connection check and then try signing in, PSN works just fine. Any clue why this could be happening? This is on PS3.

Wireless is still working perfectly fine. I've also tried creating a static IP but whenever I do that the internet only works until i restart my console. As soon as i restart it I get a DNS error (I've already tried every single DNS service).

Resogun. Holy shit, this game just keeps on giving.

A coworker and I jammed out the co-op trophy earlier and I realized I needed more of this game, so $8 was an easy price for the rest of the coming content. I grabbed the season pass and spent a few hours enjoying the new modes. Already platinumed the game, but I wonder if I can 100% it with the current trophy list.
