Not that I don't like the self-awareness, but the best way to steer him away from that would be for him to re-unite with the remaining members of D12.
New track is trash as expected. It's like he overthinks these simple ass beats and ends up off beat every time with that ugly stop-start flow that sucks the momentum out of his music. And speaking of beats...dude could get any producer on his album yet constantly selects these low tempo pop rap tracks, I don't get it. Em is a hip hop head who listens to everything, yet seems completely divorced from hip hop when he records (outside of Dre, Khalil, and Mr Porter). Alchemist is his fucking DJ yet he won't do a track with him.

Keep the accents away, again, and I'll purchase.
Maybe your taste for rap is just bad dawg. From what I recall, I saw your username mentioning Danny Brown as one of the best in the game. Bwahahaha. Now think about that for a second.
I'm enjoying it, it's on loop on my iPod Touch
Love the Sia hook, wish it was Rhianna singing it though

Relapse: Too many dumb accents!
Recovery: Not enough accents!
MMLP2: Too Much shouting!
ShadyXV: ????
But for real doe, I just hope he gets some better beats on his album. Collab with Mike Will, get a club banger on it. The producers on his last album didn't do his lyrics justice.
I think the best way to describe today's Eminem is he's boring.
He can spit rhymes at fast speeds, and his wordplay can still show moments of genius.
But he doesn't have anything interesting to say anymore. He's boring.
Since he stopped working with the Bass brothers, it's been all on the decline.
Thanks for your contribution. Eminem is the best and most successful rapper in the world
I dont get the Eminem hate in this thread. He is clearly the best mainstream rapper out. He makes goofy pop songs sometimes but dude is a 40 year old millionaire with kids, cant really expect him to rap about the same shit he made in 2003.

Lots of kings mentioned in this thread as a comparison to Eminem, but why be a king when you can be a god?
He's the best rapper out there but rap has gone downhill since the 80's -> early 90's IMO. I don't know if anyone will ever top him in the foreseeable future.

Man, people still listen to and like Eminem at this point? I just do not get it.
I hear all of these tracks he puts out now and they are just bad. Even the super popular ones like Love the Way You Lie, Not Afraid...ugh. Atleast he got away from those stupid accents though. I guess I've been spoiled by stuff he used to put out. I can't stand anything from him after 2003, but I'm just stuck in the past I guess.
what are you talking about?? Eminem has been mediocre since his debut. he had one, maybe two decent albums. the only reason he picked up any steam is because Dr.Dre marketed the hell out of him as a "white rapper" to suburbanites who didnt really listen to hiphop. Eminem is a master at nothing in regards to hiphop, his lyrics are mediocre, his flow is whack, and his beats for the most part arent catchy or interesting. by you saying Eminem is "god" ill just go an assume you likely dont listen to hiphop. its like the same thing for Kendrick Lamar now a days, he's the black Eminem. non-hiphop heads constantly roll him out as some great hiphop artists and savior, when he's ok at best. Kendrick's about one single a way from doing a Rihana collab lol.
both of you are saying cringeworthy shit
uh no, Eminem and Kendrick are both mediocre. nothing cringe worthy about that opinion.
Name five current rappers who are better than Kendrick in your opinion.

He can't stay in a single flow. Like he will start rapping normal and something in his head says "time to scream now". And it's all because that's what he thinks people want to hear. His creative process is off. Relapse was the result of Dre's kids telling him what the album should be. Recovery was everything against that because of how Relapse was received.
On Alchemist I remember an interview around the time Lord Steppington came out. He said he submitted some beats to Em but it hasn't worked out yet but they definitely will make it happen. I doubt it though. For whatever reason he doesn't see himself on those beats.
And he doesn't even work with Dre much at all anymore. Relapse and the leftover tracks (Refill) were the last real Dre produced tracks and albums. I think Dre had 1 track on Recovery and none on MMLP2. Just mixes for him and slaps his name as executive producer.
Wish he did go back and do another album with only Dre production. Maybe we could get Relapse 2.0 minus the accents. People hated the repetitive horror core content and especially the accents but Em is under the impression the criticism included Dre's production. Some of those verses were out of this world but ruined by accents.
Recovery was all new and current hip hop producers and he still picked some really uninteresting beats.
IMO MMLP2 headed in the right direction with some of the production handled by himself, some completely off the wall stuff by Rubin, and some good stuff by Sid Roams. Then again I'm in the minority here who liked MMLP2.
I don't even know about the Drake thing, so I know I can't be put into the same group. I just think his shit's good. *shrugs*

fuckouttahere lmaowell since you haven't responded to my question ill just throw out five rappers who are current and better than kendrick and more consistent with lyrics, flow, and beat.
-Apathy
-Mick Jenkins
-Curren$y
-Flatbush Zombies
-Joey Badass
RANT WARNING! RANT WARNING!
Christ, not another one of these songs. We get it, the media was up in a frenzy over your lyrics over a decade ago, but you were really just trying to express yourself, and you're the voice of anyone who's going through a hard time in their lives. Insert inspirational chorus here.
Fuck, Eminem's first three albums are so good. And say what you want about the next three, at least he was continually trying to do new shit. MMLP2 was so bland though; it was basically just a continuation of the Recovery style, with a few exceptions.
I think Eminem's life has finally settled into normalcy, and as a result he doesn't have jack shit to talk about anymore except the past. I wish he'd make a concept album or something.
Also, how much easier is getting with every year to appreciate Relapse? That album practically sounds like a legitimate artistic work compared to the pop-rap drivel he's released since. Seriously, just go back and listen to it. The production is awesome, even on corny shit like We Made You. And Em raps like an idiot savant on it.
