It's my buddies kid's birthday today. He is 9, recommend me a DS game to buy him

I just gave my niece Geometry Wars and Phoenix Wright as a birthday present; she turned 11.

I wouldn't recommend PW because it can be too tough at times, but I saw the glowing eyes of my nephew (6) as he glimpsed over my niece's shoulder while she checked out GW. It's probably a good game for kids at that age. And it's really cheap, too! Double Win GET

why don't you just get him a gift certificate to the store where he buys the games? that way the kid can buy any game he wants.

Elite Beat Agents (the best game on the DS).

i would also vote for EBA...although maybe a 9 year old would get frustrated with it. you can always play it safe and get some pokemon

Animal Crossing, kids love it and I am completely befuddled as to why. :lol

I'm not a kid. >:/
Well, I suppose it depends on your definition of "kid"...

I bet he'd love The World Ends With You.
I don't know if a 9 year old would like this game, but god I sure do.

If he doesn't have New Super Mario Bros, get that. Very fun, and pretty easy.

nintendogs would be good if his parents dont allow pets. otherwise Rub Rabbits is a good choice imo. it consists of simple, wacky, easy to play mini games... perfect for todays ADD riddled children. plus it will help him learn girls dont like being poked in the clit.

My little brother who's 8 really enjoys those pet horsez and Nintendogs games, I've never played them but seem great for a kid

The end of gaming comes with your brother's generation, confirmed.

On the bright side, they will never produce skynet at this rate.

It baffles me how many people underestimate children's maturity between the ages of 6 and 11. I don't know how old some of you are but a 9 year old boy doesn't necessarily want to play baby games and definitely is mature enough to play something like Final Fantasy... I am 23 years old and played Final Fantasy IV when it was brand new and beat it, that would mean I was only like 7. At 5 and 6 I was playing NES games with the best of em. Kind of reminds me of the Little Rascals, talking to some friends the other day and somehow that subject came up - it was surprising how many people didn't realize that the actors were ever barely over the age of six (even in the 1990s movie) :lol

I gotta agree with you there...

Seriously, I was freakin programming games into my VIC-20's tape cassette drive (The cheaper alternative to expensive floppy disks) when I was 9.

I was 13 when the NES came out and my parents got me one for Christmas '86...It was a bit low brow for me compared to my Commodore 64 and the SSI Gold Box D&D games I was used to playing though. :D

I've been meaning to check out Drawn to Life, thanks for the reminder.
