I recall some people trying to determine whether the character screens, like Doc Mario were fake or not, by comparing them with other Doc Mario renders. That's pretty smart, and not something to ridicule, even if it turned out to be true.

They weren't comparing them unbiasedly. They were comparing them and saying that it proved that Doc was photoshopped. And they did the same with shulk and Lil Mac. Secondly, it's not something that's pretty smart to do. As a graphic designer/illustrator it makes me want to pull my hair out when people do that.
