Super Smash Bros for 3DS: New Characters Video LEAKED! (SPOILERS)

This is a HUGE Leak. How could the folks at ESRB let something like this happen? If this guy is at ESRB, he could be a Play Tester at nintendo. Who knows really.

Welp, judging by those photos on Imgur, the leaker is definitely at the ESRB.

I wonder if Nintendo will ever trust them to rate one of their games again after this

Uuhhhhh don't they require an ESRB rating by law? There's nothing they'd do about it. I'm certain some very stern words are going to be exchanged between them, though.

Shulk seems to play very nicely so I'm very happy about that. Now, about the code, don't believe anything that isn't a picture or better yet, a video.

Not by actual law, but the entire purpose of the ESRB is that it's a ratings system that was devised by both publishers and retailers and is self-governed.

Yea, Nintendo can't just stop using the ESRB. Someone at the ESRB is definitely losing their job though, they're the last place you'd expect leaks to come out of.

I wonder if Bowser Jr. works like MODOK in MvC3 in the sense that if you hold up, instead of jumping you just propel yourself in that direction.

OMG YASSSSSS
SHULK
YASSSSSS

Bless you, Sakurai.

Pretty much my reaction to everything.

Yup:

Wikipedia[/URL]]Although use of the ESRB ratings system is not enforced by federal law in either the United States and Canada, it is effectively a de facto standard because of how it is treated by the industry: major console manufacturers will not license games for their systems unless they carry ESRB ratings, most retail stores enforce ESRB ratings, and also do not carry any games which are not rated by the organization.

But I guess, since they are a major console manufacturer, they can create their own system. I guess.

This person doesn't work at the ESRB.

The ESRB does not receive any builds of games. Instead, publishers send them a DVD with video of the game content, and they base the rating off these clips.

They have to.

ESRB, on the other hand, is probably going to fire somebody.

They don't have much of a choice if they want to sell their games at retail. I imagine that they'll just clamp down harder on how they submit games.

It was a joke, guys =P

The second sentence, that is. The first sentence, I firmly believe, considering a bunch of the screens have ESRB in them:

All the videos and screens we're getting ARE the clips. You can see at the ending of the Shulk victory clip it goes straight to Yoshi during Home Run Contest.

After seeing the pics and how it's potentially an ESRB guy thats leaking, I'll take it as legit.

Considering you have to send all those crazy kinds of pics and stuff to the ESRB speaks volumes.

I firmly believe they'll be in. I haven't seen the post where the leaker says that the DLC rumor wasn't true.

Hell, isn't there a chance that they're in the base game, not even DLC? The only hints we've had to the remaining slot are text posts that are completely unreliable

Yup, we know nothing that hasn't been confirmed by pics.

That it's legit.

I thought he was going to make some weird political statement about the state of our industry and how the U.S. is a nannystate when it comes to something as innocent as videogames or whatever.

Guys, Ridley was shot down by the direct. The leaker is pulling our legs. It's not happening.

My old foe...

Toxi, for the record, I believe nothing any of the leakers have said, outside of photos and videos.

BUT - as to Ridley's appearance in the Smash Direct, what did Sakurai say about him? What were his exact words, do you remember? I can give you a hint.

He didn't say anything at all. Sakurai showed a stage that will probably feature Ridley as a boss, we saw the shadow of a large winged creature with a spiked tail for a few frames, and Sakurai's voiceover stated "There will be other boss characters in the game..."

That's it. Now, I, personally, don't think Ridley will be in the game as a playable character, but using his appearance in the direct as proof of this is indefensible, it's just illogical, it's the same as people using Dr. Mario/Mario gifs to prove this most recent leak is fake.

Stahp.
