So assuming this is the final roster, who are your main(s) going to be?

For me, Fox again and Ridley <33333
In order:
Newcomers: Mega Man, Ridley, Little Mac, Duck Hunt Dog, Dixie Kong
Veterans: Wario, Toon Link, Falcon, Bowser, Donkey Kong

I imagine if Mach Rider was in the game, that he'd take part in what Sakurai wanted to do with ExciteBiker. Which is being on the motorcycle. It'd make more sense for Mach Rider, he could just make a specific reason on why he can hop. Being a futuristic vehicle and whatnot.

I think it would be pretty damn awesome.. Plus we would end up getting another Retro character that happens to be unique as well.

Dixie and Ridley were "confirmed"?
Extra character rumours range from: Don't expect anything to double the current roster.

No matter what side you were on for the main leaks I think it is fair to say everyone is taking this aspect of them with a massive pinch of salt.

Meh

These leaks have made me soggy. Duck Hunt Dog and the Koopa Kids are drying some of the stains though.

Regarding the daily picture, the betting thing sounds cool. It really is kind of mean to call that filler because you already saw it in the ESRB stuff though -- what if Sakurai had shown a full picture of the roster and it matched trhe leak exactly. That would hardly be filler, and it would have been been big news without the leak.

Does anyone have the Kirby-climbing-into-koopa-ship picture from earlier today? I didn't save it and now I can't find it! :'(
One more time in case anyone knows -- did anyone save the Kirby picture? It's buried in hundreds of pages of Smash now. :P

Except that Ridley actually has a realistic chance of making the playable Smash roster in the future, while K. Rool will never ever be playable.

People have been saying this since Melee. They're not going to downsize the character ten games later and ignore the precedent they have set. "Remember that stage hazard from Brawl and SSB4? Yeah, he's suddenly small enough to be a playable character. Ignore everything you thought you knew!" As for K. Rool... never say never. I didn't think the Duck Hunt Dog would be playable either, but Sakurai is unpredictable.

I have no idea who I will main, doesn't make sense to blindly guess before I've used anyone. Main has changed with each game so far, but those characters will be the first I try.

Captain Falcon
Marth(/Lucina)
ZSS

Little Mac is the newcomer that looks the most interesting gameplay-wise, even though I don't really care about Punch Out.

Any music today?
These two samples are new to me today: *edit* Or maybe they were added yesterday and I missed them since the leaks happened.

Your post contradicts itself.

I would rather have Ganondorf retire from F-Zero racing than have Lucina, Dr. Mario, and Dark Pit in the game.

There's a difference between being unpredictable and pretending that the previous games never happened.
I wouldn't dig your heels in on this one, Gonzo. :-) You speak of precedents, but in this game Sakurai split up Sheik and Zelda, reneged on his attitude toward Villager, and more. If Sakurai ever wanted to downsize Ridley and make him playable -- he would.

Either character could become playable (Ridley or K. Rool). Personally, I don't anticipate either for this game, but who knows, maybe in the future.

They've been fiddling with the size of characters before (including Ridley, who was much smaller in the Melee intro and was upsized significantly for the Brawl boss fights), and it doesn't matter either: Sakurai, in one PotD, specifically said that the Smash series doesn't follow height conventions. If they want to make Ridley playable, they can downsize him, no matter whether he was enormous in an installment of the series.

And yes, Sakurai is unpredictable, but K. Rool's only ever going to get a chance when he's revived in a new DKC game. Until then, Dixie and Cranky are going to be the clear choices.

And I like the Ice Climbers.

Fuck you, 3DS!

Here is hoping the leak is wrong about some things...

Ah, that's a shame. I actually look forward to them a little more than the veteran reveals. :P
I'll probably post two in one day or something to make up for it. Honestly, I wish I had put a little more focus into the newcomer portion of the poll because I may run a little short of good ones! But we'll see, I may choose one or two myself.

You're missing the point. If Olimar was portrayed as being one centimeter tall in Melee then he suddenly appeared in Brawl as the same size as the other fighters, then yes, people would question it. Smash doesn't follow height conventions in the sense that each character has his or her own adaptation specifically designed for this franchise. Pikachu, for example, is only supposed to be 1'04" tall in the Pokémon franchise, but he's clearly much larger in Smash. Ridley is depicted as a huge monster in every game he's appeared in, INCLUDING Smash, so why on Earth would they change that? How would you feel if they suddenly downsized Bowser to make him the same size as Mario, knowing full well that it wouldn't make sense to drastically change the design of an established Smash character? Ridley is too an established character... just not a playable one.
