If there was ever a time for the Sakurai bias to come into effect it was here, he said himself that Brittany was one of his personal favourites in her trophy update, should've activated the cloning device and swapped out tubby purple for solid rock as justification.

I like Alph more than Olimar so I hope he's an alt as the rumour suggests, though Olimar was always one of the few characters I just didn't enjoy using in brawl so that may not help much.

I'm still holding out a little hope for Ganondorf. We've seen what, 6 or 7 of his 20-some moves? I'm hoping. We got his jab back, and that's great. The up-b is back, that's kinda meh. I'm mostly hoping the neutral B, nair, and up tilt have changed. Did Brawl Ganon's side B still work if shielded? If not, it should do that now I hope.

IIRC, Brawl matches were pre-recorded. With Sakurai's mention of being able to cheer for someone, it seems like this time the stream is real time (although I'm not really sure if the 3DS is capable of that).

Plus, more complete functions to the mode as some posters have mentioned before me.

It's incredibly hard to git gud at the game by playing every character equally (and I'm talking actually good here, not "I can beat my friends!" good).

Only reason I can think of is them considering him low priority.
Hell he looks exactly how he did in brawl for the most part.

I think it's due to the fact that Ganondorf is relatively last-minute, so he isn't as much of a priority. With respect to Bowser, most of what Sakurai did was to make him

A. More usable, and
B. Slightly truer to his mainline design

Yeah, it's good chance that y'all are right that they probably put Ganondorf on low priority section.

"Actively Despise" is a dumb way of wording it, but there are a few characters I wouldn't miss at all and would be happier if they picked almost anyone else.

I won't say who, but it's not Bowser Jr., Duck Hunt or or Dark Pit so let's not even go there.

He ate a whole shipment of Pikmin so Sakurai had to relegate Olimar to only use 3 at a time and cut Louie out of the game as a punishment.

I hope you are right! There's worlds of difference between watching a pre-recorded match (like in Brawl) and watching something live streamed, and I can see myself spectating a lot if it is the later!

If you're playing an online match, the server creates and ID for that, the spectate system simply plugs you into that ID making you able to watch, probably with a little lag (30-60s) but that's it! As I said, we have a YouTube and Netflix app for the 3DS so we know he's able to handle real time streaming, we need to know if Nintendo servers can handle the online system (imo day 1 will be offline haha)

Tekken and Smash Bros. don't really overlap much, imo. They play really differently.

They're still both fighting games that include pokemon characters. If there's even a chance that you lose sales from one because of the other, why would you do it?

There are probably a handful of people who only play smash for the pokemon, and now they can hold out and wait for pokken. Not saying it's many, and it may not be worth it, but why risk it?

Edit: yup, pokken tournament. tekken style pokemon fighting game.
