I think they're all just EmCeeGramr, our patron mod, trying to stop us from freaking out over another small aspect of these threads. Granted, some names have been debatable, I do agree this is probably our best one yet!
"Ridley's Believe it or Not" will always be the most fitting, though.
So how does everyone think the pace for Smash DLC would go? Mario Kart took 2-3 months for extra karts, but now it's going to be half a year between actual major updates. I know it's to extend the "Sales Tail," but would you rather know about updates this long in advance, or would you rather have surprise Nintendo Direct-style "BANG! We literally just release previously unannounced DLC" announcements?

I'm still very hyped but a part of me isn't anymore.
The only thing that is de-hyping me at the moment is that we seem to only be getting 3DS pics of the day now
I've personally teased heath about it after he posted leaks/rumors himself.
I think the rules were well-intentioned, heh.

After rummaging through the MK8 leak, I really feel like this was intended to be a Nintendo Direct surprise, which probably means we'll be getting one this week or next. And by Direct I mean our Fall/Winter Direct we've been waiting for.

I've only played the very first Metroid so I don't understand the want for Ridley either, I'll have to check out the prime games later..

My faith in Nintendo knowing how important it is to have Smash DLC is at an all time high.

Super metroid is a good starting place, but I didn't appreciate ridley until I played more. You need to play zero mission/fusion to further appreciate him. The prime games help, too.
It's only because he's a recurring boss that he holds any weight, honestly.

I love it
Ridley gets love because he reappears so much (and is always a fun boss fight). He's basically a staple of the series in the same way the Metroids are.
Definitely play Super Metroid and Prime.

Still pretty hyped even if I'm not a big fan of Duck Hunt, I have to admit the model looks nice and perhaps and gameplay could go a long way to making me warm up to him better. Honestly I'm still as hyped to actually PLAY these newcomers and updated vets

And of course I could end up liking characters who I've never enjoyed in this one, my hype couldn't be higher. We were ALWAYS going to get spoiled on the roster because the game comes out weeks later after Japan so it doesn't really phase me. The remaining newcomer trailers still have me excited to see how they play. We see very little of Bowser Jr and Shulk and no idea how Duck Hunt will play.
If Kraid hadn't been cut from Prime, I feel like he would have become a staple in the same way. Unfortunately, it never happened and Kraid only showed up again in Zero Mission.
His planned Prime model looked pretty awesome.
