Is the PG278Q different from the PB278Q?
Only the latter is available in my country.
Will this work properly with my laptop? My laptop has dual GTX 780M.
I just read about screen tearing and vsnyc, and the stutters makes gaming irritating.
PB278Q is a vastly different monitor. It's a PLS monitor without any of the swift's benefits.
Unfortunately 780M doesn't support GSYNC at the moment, but I wouldn't be surprised if they add support at some point in the future.
This is the last post Smokey will ever make. He is already dead.ULMB...I guess I gotta try this too. Gsync was so smooth in BF4. I was about 120-130 FPS with my Titan Blacks. No tearing and extremely responsive.
If ULMB is better at higher FPS..I..dunno how I'll respond

Only ships to north america :/Yo, heads up, after a long drought diy kits are available now: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/g-sync/diy
Welp I wasn't looking for them but I found them anyways, dead or stuck pixels. I'd say about 4 to 6 maybe, its really hard to tell how many. Pretty lucky placement though, off center and about 5% from the top of the screen. Tried a few methods to fix them, might try one or 2 more soon but its fine really. Just hard to un see them now.

Send it back. You don't pay $800 for a monitor to get bullshit.
I could send it back except the likelihood of me getting a replacement in the next few months is basically zero with the expected supply shortage. Also they will only take back a monitor that has more than 5 stuck pixels so I would need to get a magnifying glass out to actually count them. Its not worth it to me, 3 to 5 stuck out of 3,686,400 pixels. I think you guys are more upset about it than I am lol.
yay, i'm no longer the only swift owner on the block.
I've been so impressed with G-Sync i haven't even gotten around to testing ULMB in a month because getting rid of tearing was my number one "must have". It delivered on that dream and i've been super pleased with it.
If only there was a way of activating G-Sync / ULMB in game via a button like you can do with the Mhz switching button.
Whats a good game to test the benefits of G-Sync vs ULMB?
I'm running an OCd 780 Classi and OCd 4770k.

From trying ULMB yesterday , the panel has to run at 120hz and below otherwise you cant use it. Of course you also need to disable gsync in the NVCP. It also makes the screen noticeably darker. I'm sure there's some technical reason why that is. I tried it with BF4 and I didn't realize notice a huge difference over Gsync. Both are extremely smooth.

DP only input. Not going to be possible.would this be good for retro gaming since it has such a low response time? similar to crts and what not
probably no easy way to hook them up

ULMB aka Ultra Low Motion Blur reduce the motion blur by strobing (low persistence basically) the picture each time it refresh by turning it off. Basically the reason it's darker is because it's off a fraction of a second while strobing.
Some people pray by this because it add a lot in motion clarity. The downside is a less bright image.
For you to understand how it work picture this: When you move your mouse really fast you can see more then 1 cursor. The reason is that the pixels that where showing it before don't have time to become exactly the color under the cursor.if it was instant then you would see only 1 cursor all the time. The pixels on the display take some time to change and strobing basically cut the amoutn of motion blur by a large margin.

See this with still picture: easier to understand.

From what I've heard this monitor isn't really bright enough to enjoy ULMB, but the eizo one is (only 1080p but VA pannel)
No more proud Swift owners taking pictures of their new purchase with a loaf of bread on top?
I am disappoint.
Informative, thanks.
Made me laugh
Any chance someone with one of these bad boys could try playing a vertical screen rotation game (Crimzon Clover or something like DoDonPachi in MAME) and tell me how the viewing angles are? On my old VH236H they're good enough as long as I'm slightly to the left of my monitor, lol. I'm hoping it's better (though obviously not perfect) here.
It's a TN, so the viewing angles are pretty terrible in that orientation.Any chance someone with one of these bad boys could try playing a vertical screen rotation game (Crimzon Clover or something like DoDonPachi in MAME) and tell me how the viewing angles are? I'm really trying to decide whether to go crazy and get this monitor, or go cheap and get something like:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236335
If I were to go cheap, would that be a good product for the price? ($135 after promo code and rebate)
for the record, i have a GTX 780 card
Amazon finally put it up. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MSOND8C/?tag=neogaf0e-20
Managed to be one of the first ones to snag it.

Edit: NOT ANYMORE
I'm getting jealous of you guys. I have a peasant VG248QE screen without gsync. I don't know why Nvidia hates Europe so much.
