Woah, where does dark Kirby come from

There

OMG IS THAT KIRBY?!

Internal documents stated Ice Climbers to be cut.

What the leakers didn't realise is that it just meant as a plural.

Yeah, kind of have to agree regarding Green Greens Ver 2... it's just not a good take on that track. Try, Try Again I actually do like, but again it's not quite as good as the original, so it's a little disappointing anyway.

The first half of the Green Greens arrangement really suffers from the quality of the samples used, but everything becomes much better as soon as the solo violin comes in. Hopefully the rest of the track is in that vein rather than that of the opening.

You're right, I was just listening again, and it gets better towards the end, haha. Actually edited that into my post before I saw your reply. :P

Sakurai wants the roster to be the same in both versions because he doesn't want to have favorites.

He already favors Kid Icarus and Kirby so too late for that.

Maybe the roster will be the same in both versions but he will all be like Ice Climbers in 3DS only 1 at a time but in Wii U you can play both at once.

:P

Oh yeah, I forgot to answer this from the previous thread. Here goes:

Main:

Kirby
Mega Man
Toon Link
Zelda

Secondary:

Dixie Kong (maybe, would have to see how she played but I love the character)
Fox
Impa (maybe, would have to see how she played but I love the character)
Mario
Pac-Man
Palutena
Rosalina & Luma

Occasionally play:

Bowser
Bowser Jr. (maybe, will need to see how he plays first... he might even get upgraded to secondary if I like his play style enough!)
Captain Falcon
Dark Pit
Diddy Kong
Dr. Mario
Duck Hunt (maybe, for the same reasons as Bowser Jr.)
Greninja
Jigglypuff
Link
Little Mac
Lucina
Mewtwo
Mii Fighters
Ness
Peach
Pikachu
Pit
Shulk
Sonic
Wii Fit Trainer
Zero Suit Samus

Rarely/never play:

Charizard
Donkey Kong
Falco
Ganondorf
Ike
King Dedede
Lucario
Luigi
Mach Rider (just have no interest in the character at all)
Marth
Meta Knight
Mr. Game & Watch
Olimar & Pikmin
Ridley
R.O.B.
Robin
Samus
Sheik
Villager
Yoshi

Actively despise:

Wario

It's because I fed the idea that the Kirby tune should be an operatic rendition of Green Greens with a choir just chanting "Kirby" throughout.

Now that reality has set in and it turned out that was just wishful thinking you're all disappointed.

Sorry,

So right now, the only newcomer that we haven't seen in Leaker 3's leaks is Duck Hunt, while Dr. Mario, Bowser Jr., Dark Pit, and Shulk have shown up multiple times.

Dr Mario, Dark Pit and Duck Hunt only shown up in two pictures.

It wasn't even people wanting or expecting that it was fake, usually it was just people who were worried that it might be since those characters hadn't shown up yet.

Like me. I'm paranoid about it since it was so surreal that I actually got those 3 characters because ii never thought that I would see them in Smash. Yeah, incident with leaker that like to fake the leak made me little worried so I rather to see them in video or so.

What.
WHAT.

This is not new. :P I've stated several times throughout these threads that I can't fucking stand Wario as a character. Or Waluigi, for that matter... he's even worse, actually.

That said, I've never actively hoped for Wario to be cut! I know he has a lot of fans and he's more than earned a place on Smash's roster. I just can't stand him personally.

The respect I had for you just went out like a flame. Poof.

I... I think I'll live.

I don't even play Lucas but the feels were still there.
Aww goddammit :'(

Lucas >_< the only sour note in an otherwise perfect roster. Ice Climbers be damned, he was my main and we had so much fun kicking everyone's asses together.

I'll wait for you, Lucas. I promise :'(

We're awfully hasty to assume those characters are cut.

Let's wait and see.

We've never had an ESRB leak before, who knows what content is missing from other games when they're rated.

Having never played a smash bros, should I get the 3ds version or wii u? I have an XL 3ds and a wii u pro controller (which is awesome!). Is either the definitive version?

Both will be superb additions.

Naturally people will jump and scream Wii U down your throat.

Anyway, Bath Time is the best track so far, amirite?

Well the Wii U version will come out in winter. I'd suggest picking up the 3DS version which comes out in October and see if you like it at all. If you do, you might wanna double dip, since both versions have different modes and stages (though the character rosters will stay the same).

WiiU version is better if you're not bothered about portability and aren't interested in Smash Run.

If you are interested in Smash Run, buy the 3DS version and then sell it when the WiiU version comes out if that's the sort of thing you do, you'll probably be bored of Smash Run by then anyway.

Aww haha, come on. We're all great! And I say Andre and Derrick get awesomeness priority just because they were there first. :P

Andre's obviously #1 by definition. (so glad he's back from Germany)

Derrick ... I like him a lot, but his reaction to video evidence of the leak man ... lol.

(seriously though, aside from you 3 I have a hard time remembering the rest ^^;)

Neither is really the "definitive" version as both have their own exclusive content (stages, modes, trophies, etc). I say go for the 3DS version since it comes out first and, if you like it, get the Wii U version as well.

Naturally, though, the Wii U version will ultimately have more content and will have the (far) superior visuals and controls. Up to you whether that makes the 3DS version a no-buy, but I don't think it should. Both of them are going to be excellent on their own merits and one doesn't "replace" the other in my opinion.

Well, that's because we are the only three! We have guests on frequently, of course, but in terms of the core GX hosts, it's just us three.

And yeah, even Andre and I were surprised at Derrick's staunch unwillingness to take the video evidence as legit... but hey, dude sticks to his guns, and I respect that!

Wii U version has definitive controls.

But ideally, get both!

I think this pretty much nails it. 3DS version comes out first, so I don't know how anyone could wait. If you can though, the Wii U version will have an actual controller and probably more content.

While anything could happen, it seems highly unlikely that any vets not shown in the leaked pic are returning. The Ninka text leak that has been 100% accurate specifically said Lucas, Snake, Ice Climbers, and Wolf were cut. I would not be surprised if the leaked CSS is the absolute final roster, but of course we are all hoping for a few more characters to pop up.

...Oh okay, if you 3 are the only regulars I can understand why my comment might've come across as rude, wow hahah.

He didn't quite stick to his initial guns though, he admitted near the end of the discussion he just likes/prefers surprises. (And I agree with him, leaks kinda ruin the natural flow of news) That has little to do with the legitimacy of a leak though. :p

Out of curiosity, have you ever played any Wario games, particularly Wario Land (even tho WarioWare works too I guess)?

You don't really get to judge who 'deserves' a slot. Let's not ignore the fact that in one game Kid Icarus Uprising introduced more interesting characters in one game than Metroid has in 27 years.
As I've said before, Metroid's main strength is its environments, not its characters. Instead of focusing on more character representation, I'd prefer more stage representation. Well-designed areas like Green Brinstar or Sanctuary Fortress are just begging to be backdrops to battles. Unfortunately, the Metroid stage selection so far is fucking lousy; one new stage based on one of the more boring locations, one old stage reused since 1997. Both hava lava.

Meanwhile, we've got two new Kid Icarus stages.

I tried to like Wario Land: Shake It!, but it was just so slow and plodding. I quit after a few hours. Videos I have watched of late game stuff didn't make me feel better.

Can someone give me some tips for playing Brawl on a controller other than a GC controller? I've been playing it on Wii U for practice, but my god, the Classic Controller is absolutely horrible for Smash. Any pro-tips for alternate controllers or comfortable button layouts would be much appreciated.

It's putting me off the 3DS version because that's got a very similar button layout. I'm thinking of just waiting for the Wii U version and the GC adapter.

Again, no Yeah for you today, Mr. Sakurai. I wonder if he's trying for a full week of menu pics.

Could we unlock pokeball pokemon before? That seems like what we're seeing here.

My first Wario experience was actually Wario's Woods at a friend's house. My friends and I just took to him as a character and ever since I've liked him.

When I got a GameBoy Color you better believe one of my first purchases was Wario Land 2. Been a fan of him ever since.

On a side note: will the 3DS version be playable with CCP?

What's a CCP?

I tried to like Wario Land: Shake It!, but it was just so slow and plodding. I quit after a few hours. Videos I have watched of late game stuff didn't make me feel better.

I didn't feel Shake It was particularly slow. I mean, I guess you don't just run from left to right as quickly as possibly - there's a lot of backtracking in stages to do and such. But I never considered the game slow.

I first came across Wario in Super Mario Land 2. My friend had let me borrow it, and then while I had it there was a big ice storm that knocked the power out. So I had nothing to do for about a week but play Gameboy. Wario and his castle were a pretty memorable finale.

Edit: Oops, double posted. It ended up on two pages though, so maybe no one will hurt me. >.<
