Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 14: Snake... had a hard life

Yes it is.

Kyle Hyde and the Paper Mario characters were based off how they looked in the actual game.

This is the first time we've had a Trophy that was just concept art that didn't actually appear within the game. That's what Stickers were.
Nearly every render in Brawl of a throw away character like Dry Bones was taken directly from official art renders. Starlow doesn't have any official renders, she's an entirely 2D character, so they would probably just throw art on a plane and call it a day while they make 600 more.

I'm probably grasping here but Starlow could be the same situation like the paper mario trophies are?

The majority of Brawl trophies were model rips from the original games. But you're right, stickers are where the actual official art was used. But since this game does not appear to have those, it's not a leap to conclude trophies might take up this trend.

The fact most of the Smash 4 trophies we've seen have been original renders is what makes this trophy that is just an art rip seem weird.

Anything that shows supposed DLC characters can't be real... since DLC comes later. Right?
While unlikely, it's entirely possible that there are more characters that weren't unlocked in the ESRB video.

Also, you can't really tell from Roy's image that he isn't in the Koopa Clown Car. Its at a weird angle and could be zoomed in.
Yes you can, unless it has foot holes like a baby swing.

He was the first to come to mind because he was one of the first I noticed in Brawl, way back, that just used his official render. It's stuck on my mind since then, even though plenty of others also use official renders.

yeah sorry i was just goofin

i'd imagine not a whole lot of thought and effort goes into dumping characters from whatever collections of assets they have accessible into trophies

that'd be a bit strange, since that's not really a stylistic thing in M&L. they're sprites, but never depicted as flat, like paper mario

not impossible, just weird and dumb if true and makes me lean toward fake

Saria clearly looked like it was ripped from OOT3D.

Isn't this the first time we have Mario and Luigi trophies (or content in general thanks to the music) in Smash? There's no precedent for them if its true,.

Anyways, I want it to be true because SS Impa would redeem Ganondorf instantly.

I believe this is fake 100%, but there's also no evidence at all that there is DLC in the game other than what leakers have said all of which is highly conflicting. For all we know, all characters can be unlocked out of the box.

We also can't call it fake because the spike detail is bad because we have no way of knowing if all the koopas backs look like that, or even if alt costumes don't have trophies of themselves unrelated to being playable.

We don't even know if the remaining spots on the roster leak are DLC. The leak was just the video that contained that roster, which may or may not contain more characters. Any DLC talk is entirely unsubstantiated.

I'm noticing the major frame difference moves like Yoshi Flutter kicks, sword spin with Link and Drill kick with Shiek are moves that almost look like they still start having active frames on the same frame so the startup is the same, but he amount of active frames have changed. Same startup with more active frames may not be a nerf but a buff in many cases.

Considering you can cancel out of some stuff I really just need to know move speeds, dodge distances and stuff to get a real idea on anything here. Air dodge data too is a must to know and when using DI whats the fall speed go to and does it effect the landing recovery at all?

Too many outliers to factor this positively yet just as the video said...it was neat, but this will by no means give us much of an idea of how fast the gameplay will be for this game considering its mostly going to be dictated by the other mobility factors of the game that are unchecked.

Actually, yeah, this isn't Boom Boom, he doesn't have cuffs. It's Roy. Same color wand as he has in NSMBU.

So, it seems we have a Roy Trophy not in the Koopa Klown Car. Doesn't confirm it's fake since I don't see why we can't have both, but a bit odd.

Holy fuck guys , what happened? This thread started yesterday and already has 72 pages! I was caught up in the Mario Kart and Pokken threads, somebody can sum up whatever happened? Something big happened right?

New leak is... eh. Possible (no huge surprises), nothing seems more off than the last leak, but nothing that says "real" to me. Gut says fake but I'll wait and see.

Oh man, what if Sakurai reveals that KO/Fall Chart tonight? With the same type too...

We've never seen that menu before, have we?

Hmm, I don't think there will be DLC soon after launch (according to Sakurai) so I'd be okay if Wolf and Impa are two of the 3-5 unrevealed characters.

In fact, I'd say Impa would be a great pick just because it would be like giving Sheik a completely new moveset. Maybe some deku nut action??

"Pic of the Day: We knew you needed to keep track of how much you hate certain characters so here it is! (Translator's Note: We knew no one would check this screen so sorry for the translation)

Programmers note: And the fact that this simple Excel spreadsheet doesn't even add right.

So, who do you think the super secret final boss hard mode is?

This guy?

We saw in the ESRB leak he's a Trophy, and "Monster Manor" is neutral enough to serve as a Boss alongside Master Hand. He also reminds me of the shadow we see Mario facing down when changing the Intensity Level.

Only thing that makes me doubt this is I imagine his Trophy would've mentioned his role in Smash. Then again, Petey, Rayquaza, and Porky's trophies in Brawl don't mention anything about their role in SSE.
