Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 14: Snake... had a hard life

I honestly have no clue who Sony really owns.

Like I couldn't tell you who's a "1st Party Sony" character before PSAB made it clear.

I think it'd probably benefit the other companies if we got a cross-over Smash Brothers that was two companies...

Like Capcom vs. Konami would be pretty neat. Dante vs. Simon Belmont, Mega Man vs. Bomber Man, Strider vs. Goemon, etc.

Sony doesn't even own have of their icons anymore and many of them are 3rd party.

Capcom is a good choice. They are sitting on so much shit. They have so many series under their belt that they could pull from. Long Running ones too.

I think it really depends how old you are.

If you grew up after the ps1, a bunch of sony's ips are probably just as "iconic" to you as old sega and capcom ones.

So, are we thinking the Mario and Luigi mix belongs to the Paper Mario stage if it's on 3DS?

Nope. Smash Run.

I think Green Greens is as well. Notice both of them have a pretty fast-pace.

I'd say it's the other way around.

Crash, Spyro, Tomba, Croc, Jumping Flash, those are who I recognize.

Curious as to who else you think gets close.

While you dint quote me and im against the "Capcom not having a big library" argument. I would like to think SEGA has a good enough Library for a smash clone....always wanted to see Sumo Digitals attempt at it. Namco ......maaaaaaaaaaybe.

EDIT: I read spindashers post wrong.....eh gave my opinion anyways.

So I'm assuming that other "leaker" guy that posted this morning is false. The one who says his friend would leak those pictures tonight? Now he has to delete his GameFaqs accounts! That'll totally teach him...

Thank goodness.

Why is Dark Pit's character select image different from his render on the bottom screen?

Placeholder CSS icon is my guess.

If Namco could use all the non-gaming series they own like Gundam, JoJo, Kamen Rider, One Piece, etc., it'd be AMAZING.

But again, which? Outside of Jak, Ratchet, and Kratos...

Nathan Drake
Jak
Sackboy
Sly
Kratos
Ratchet

not too bad, and then you could add
Crash
Spiro
Cloud/Lightning (3rd party)
Snake (3rd party)

Honestly, I think that lineup alone is more recognizable than the entirety of a sega all star roster. It's just missing the history...

What would her moveset be? Villager pretty much single-handedly covers all of AC. Throwing fruit is about the only thing he doesn't have.

Which is why she'd be a decent choice for a clone character. Villager's moveset wouldn't look all that weird on her, and she'd have the advantage of being visually distinct from her source character.

Yeah Playstation Allstars had a killer roster.

It was pretty decent.

I think the more characters it had actually HURT it, though. It came across as bloated and a bit crass for the first entry.

I'd toss out Big Daddy, the Coles, Dante, Emmet, Heihachi, Isaac, Drake, Raiden, and Sweet Tooth.

Kat, Kratos and Nariko can stay as the more humanoid dudes, and because they're a bit more over-the top and fantasy.

I really need to pick this up again to try the DLC dudes.

I imagine that's why she was included in the MK8 DLC, she was probably a pretty easy model swap of Villager since they're the same size basically.

Seriously dude? Jak, Ratchet, Sly, Kratos, Pa Rappa the Rapper, Twisted Metal Characters such as sweet tooth, any Team Ico or Sony Japan game (Kat from Gravity Rush, The Wanderer from SotC, etc.), Nathan Drake, Captain Quark, Cole! Are Legend of Dragoon and Arc the Lad Sony franchises?

But one of the big things with Playstation had always been great third party support. That's why characters like Cloud, Dante (original), Crash, Spyro should've been in their game.

I haven't had a chance to play Playstation All Stars get but it's free next month so I'll check it out then.

Right, so 10 characters. The latter 4 of which they apparently couldn't get the rights to no matter how bad they wanted. You talk about recognition, but after those first 6 it quickly veers into Colonel Radec, guy from Starhawk a.k.a "Who gives a fuck" territory.

They got it right somewhat with PSASBR: third parties are certainly a PS strength. Shame they completely fudged which third parties those were.

Sony never owned Crash.

That's what I mean, I always thought Lara, Crash, and Spyro were considered Sony 1st-Party for years until they started going to other systems.

When I googled Rhythm Heaven Marshal my eyes must have passed over it. I was thankful that I didn't see what the fuss was about. Just went back to close the tab and god damn it.

I hope you like it more than me! lol

Smash has spoiled me

Crash Bandicoot fun fact: His character design was created by Universal artists Charles Zembillas and Joe Pearson, not Jason Rubin and Andy Gavin as ND claimed for so long. Those two were ND's entire art dept for a long time and never got much credit. Zembillas even created Daxter, and after that character won an award, never got any recognition.

This is of course totally off topic but the whole story is told here
