Project CARS PS4 Gameplay - Direct Feed HD 1080 Capture.

I've gotta say - I'm still not sold on the 'sim' nature of this. Those physics look very much like what I'd expect from a Forza/GT game.

Always hard to tell when the commentator doesn't mention what assists they are driving with. Based on the footage it seems like he has quite a few enabled. Will be curious to see how the game feels, never had the chance to play it. It is as good as dead to me on PS4 though with no G27 wheel support. But I guess that topic is for an other thread(s).

I didn't find what I played last month to be particularly enjoyable, but then again a full simulation racing game isn't for me. Using the same driving style I use in GT resulted in constant spin outs and being forced off track by other drivers.

Must have easy mode on? Didn't have much issues getting around the track!

Looks good. Will be a good compliment alongside Driveclub for my Dad until GT6/7 is out on PS4.

Commentators were great lol

Good point.

Ok, that sounds reassuring. Its not good that you're turned off, but its good that people might be turned off, because that means its challenging like it should be.

Game looks pretty good. Really hope Fanatec comes up with a solution for the PS4. I really want to be able to use by rig.

I'll never understand the hype this game gets over its graphics, imo Drive Club destroys this.
Also the DOF effects look a blurry mess.

Looks great to me. The the overall IQ is a touch too soft and blurry, but that could be somewhat the fault of YouTube. Liking some of the visual touches though. I get that it's not as graphically impressive or as in your face as something like Driveclub, but I don't think it's meant to be, given it's a sim racer, and 60fps. Loving the sound of Morpheus support from day 1.

It would be awesome if Sony would release early-dev kit type Morpheus kits, like Oculus did. At least those who want to get in early for stuff like this could do so!

I think its more how good the graphics are considering that its a sim running at 60fps. Its the best looking sim I have ever seen.

That's 30 fps vs. 60 fps for you.

This looks great, but it's DFGT support or bust for me, so until that happens I sadly won't be buying this.

Driveclub is a hard act to follow here. There is an undeniable 'flatness' to the look and feel and, given that it's 60 FPS, a suprisingly subdued sense of speed... is it just me?

Wow, uh...that looks...like crap?
In fact there are parts of that vide where, I guess its your focus changing from your steering wheel and gloves to the track and it just looks straight BAD. That immitation DOF with the really soft background? Oh gross, look at your side view mirrors too. Yuck.

I think it looks pretty alright. Wish the helmet cam...basically your eyes was a view in every game. I could see getting this on the cheap.

Love the helmet cam.

Surprised by the lack of track detail though. Seems very flat texture/foliage wise.

Grass?

3D curbs?

Neither of the above appear to be that way. It's all flat texturing.

Nice otherwise though.

Edit** Rain is rolling up INSIDE the helmet, is it a visor-less helmet? I guess it could be goggles inside a helmet. That might make sense.

Looks pretty good, nothing mind blowing, though. Glad it's 60fps. Hopefully this will scratch the sim itch that F5 didn't manage to do.

Yeah, I'm not finding it impressive either.

A track just off the M20 in southeast England is never going to look as in your face impressive as driving through the wilds of Norway.... (think holiday photos from the Caribbean vs holiday photos from Brighton!)

But if you compare it to its competitors, sim racers at 60fps I think you'll really struggle to find a better looking game*

*admittedly I've only played the PC build not PS4!

Is is an option you can disable on the PC version, presumably you'll be able to turn it off on PS4 as well.

Is completely adjustable, can be turned off it not liked. Pretty much everything about PCars is adjustable, thats where the community involvement has been great - becomes very clear everyone likes different things! :)

Project CARS looks really good on the PC when you run it at maximum settings downsampled. The clean look lends well to those crisp shots. Here's hoping they manage to retain that in the console version, else it'll look as clinical as Forza :(

Only thing that interested me was Morpheus support really. Depending on the competition when the Morpheus comes out I might get it for that. The sim aspect sounds good for those who like that, historical weather is a great idea. But looking at the gameplay it doesn't seem to have changed the racing enough for me to be curious to try it. Wait and see I guess.

It doesn't look as good as Driveclub, which surprised me a bit. I guess that extra time really helped Evolution.

60fps sim vs 30fps arcade.

If you want 60fps you have to make a choice.

Looking at that video they have weather/real time lighting/change of day, but it's lacking in track detail texture/detail wise compared to even Forza 5 (on a console). However, F5 went with fixed lighting/time of day...

You have to pick and choose with sim racers this early on. As developers get a grasp on new hardware, we'll probably see some incredible things in future racers (having all the boxes check marked).

Disgusting. Driveclub remains the best looking racer ever made.

(brain function = off)

Looks more scaled down than I thought, I guess it confirms that the PC version is the "definitive" one.

That's a bit unnecessary. People know that, no reason to say it and come across facetiously.
