Okay, I got the capture card hooked up. Amazing how easy it was to setup. It gives quality output with low latency. I'll probably stream Ghost Trick a few times to work out the kinks and get acclimated to streaming. I scheduled 3 days PTO for the release and I'm really, really, really excited.
Just change captain falcon's moveset to be nothing but racing stuff. Get rid of falcon punch, kick, knee, etc. His game wasn't about punching anyway.
Their identity is what Sakurai created in melee, just like captain falcon's identity is what he created in smash 64, and ROB in brawl.
SoPo ruins them for me and I will lose all interest.

We've seen through screens and trailers that online with randoms has options for specifying 1v1, teams, and presumably FFA, so... that's a pretty good start, at least!

I have no idea what the majority wants, but it seems like most people I talk with, like voice chat in their video games. Multiplayer gaming is a social experience. In most cases, (Games like Journey being an exception), voice chat only enhances that experience.
My point stands. Nintendo needs to get with the program. It's 2014. Maybe, just maybe if Splatoon does well, they will figure out that online multiplayer games are important to a large demographic.

I bought it preinstalled. I normally like hacking stuff myself, but it's too close to release for me to risk messing anything up.

The cool thing about Sakurai's menus is that they seem like they will be pretty easy to understand most of the time even in Japanese. I might end up importing so I hope that's the case for most of the menus.

How much did that set you back?

Given the choice between not having their unique gimmick or not having them all, I'm all for the former. Cuts in Smash hurt a lot.
I highly doubt the Direct tomorrow will have anything as major as a newcomer reveal (I imagine everyone would have gotten a live reveal of something like that, if nothing else in the Direct is applicable for western audiences) but I can see some smaller modes or stages getting shown off or something.
You can get the non pre-installed ones for around $200, but the ones that have it set you back ~$400

I work full time and have a family and the few friends I have don't play nintendo games. So a good online system is ideal for me. I can hop on play some people, hop off go to work spend with family rinse repeat
It may have since Nintendo will show the final build to some people at PAX (media only)
My used 3DS was about 130 after taxes/shipping. Half the reason I did it was because it was so cheap.
I don't think that's confirmed. I think it's in the rumor/speculation bucket right now.

When I said non pre-installed ones I meant the capture card just by itsself, my JP 3DS was the equivalent of $150 and that's because the UK is expensive, $200 would be paying way too much for a 3DS.

I would have done if the WiiU version was releasing later or if I actually knew whether or not I'd have good internet around the time the JP version releases.
Could possibly stream using the shoebox method, but there's no point if someone else has a capture card, just need to wait for the WiiU version till I can start making content.
Speaking of, maybe I could give away my elgato as a prize for the WiiU tournament seeing as I'm going to buy one of the new 60fps ones.
