Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 14: Snake... had a hard life

To be honest, the idea of Dark Pit being included as a seperate character instead of an alt is pretty fucking stupid, and the majority did not see it coming.

I dunno this qq guy's history, but why is he being targeted so much? Not like he offered to suck major amounts of dicks like our other friend.

Long story but it's not our business to know.
He has reasons
Uh... ok.

I hate when I can't satisfy my curiosity, but I have to respect the privacy.

Too bad I didn't post much while he was active, seems like a cool guy. Maybe someday he'll rise from the dead. Q_Q

Edit: I don't really wanna leave the confines of the message board. IRC is beyond where I'm headed right now.

Thought that spot pass would be something along the lines of a demo or something. Oh well at least everyone will be able to get smash ASAP.

My gamestop better have a midnight.

Ridley as boss.
"Most stage bosses are always active, but for Ridley we've made an exception. On the main menu, we've added a special section just for him! Here you can switch between Ridley being a stage boss or a playable character. We've really gone all out this time!"

Regarding the Chords Kids, if they're in:

do you guys see them being a 2D-hand drawing looking thing, like the sneaky spirits in Smash Run?

or fully fleshed out 3D models like all the other characters?

Wished Nintendo did preloading on digital downloads, I can somewhat believe their server will be slow as ass when everyone tries to download the 3DS version at midnight...

This is what's making me wary of getting it digitally, the whole online service is probably going to crash under the user strain on release night.

I'm considering a physical copy, and none of my other 3DS games are physical. I like the digital library thing. But... release day server problems. Ugh.

Did anyone here go to the brawl midnight?
I went in NC and there was a lot of fans along with a tournament before the game came out. Remember being pissed that snake got unlocked but they reset the Wii so everyone would only use starters.

That was all I wanted to see but I ended having to play rainbow Cruise with donkey kong. We also were using the wiimotes. Tourney was pure ass.

Just found out i have a friend who owns a JPN 3ds and he will let me borrow it for smash

Oh god I so freaking happy right now

Considering one of Rhythm Heaven's defining features is being fully 2D (except for like 2 minigames in the DS game), and taking Sneaky Spirit into account, 2D.

I also can't imagie them being 3D without looking particularly weird lol

Snapped this pic on the way to set up our PAX booth.

Hnnnnggghhh

Kick some ass for us.

Yeah, 'cuz Pokemon and Mario Kart don't have voice chat, or anything...
The reason why Pokemon has voice chat for friends is becuase the developers want it, and gamefreak is independent of Nintendo.

While not independent, the MK8 creator propably just wanted it to. A suspect bery few Nintendo people would bother, but Nintendo won't stop anyone from adding it.

Sakurai...from what I've seen just doesn't care about online all that much, but adds it for the fans. All I want is stable framerate for the 3DS version.

I was trying to, but apparently our Gamestop didn't do it right. I kept hearing conflicting stuff about the launch tournament; I think they ended up partnering with a local LAN center and hosting there early for whatever reason. Or they just didn't do one.

I was considering a physical copy but realised that I wanna ensure I had Smash with me whenever, but yep let's hope for the nest the server's stable enough...hope it doesn't turn out to several hours to download it at launch =/

I'm beginning to accept the leak has revealed the final or near final roster. I'm just waiting for the game now. lol

so AT tonight.
There's no way that there's a crap-ton left. If there's more, I'm gonna say 1-3 more characters, MAYBE 5 if we're lucky.

Nah. Final destination mode allows you to play for glory/etc on walk-off and scrolling stages whereas toggling stage hazards does not.

but a stage hazard toggle gives you more than one stage (+ size differences). Nothing wrong with a funky shaped stage as long as its not actively try to fight you.

But it's the same flat stage layout in the end, I can't help but think that a hazard toggle would've given more variety.

But......no platforms. We need Battlefield variants for the other stages, as well.

The best would be final destination mode with platforms for all stages. Platforms patterns can be tied to each stage, or, i'd even settle with random platform patterns.

I'm not saying that final destination mode is perfect, either, just saying 'toggling stage hazards' isn't that much better, if better at all. It only makes a small handful of stages more competitive, whereas final destination mode, while making them all the same, converts more noncompetitive stages into competitive ones.

Well I know this is Marshal and not chorus kids but it would probably be in the same vein as this:

I kind of do hope they're 3D

It doesn't convert noncompetitive stages into competitive ones, it changes a competitive one's theme to match a noncompetitive one. Wow, that's a whole lot of competitive.

It just changes non competitive stages into the same type of stage, which isn't all that competitive friendly.

I had it preordered was planning to go with my cousin who also had it preordered.

Then a giant snow storm came in. Tons of stores closed, even Walmart closed at 8 that night. The only store open was a Meijer. I carefully drove to it at 8 pm, sat for 4 hours with some people waiting to get a Wii still (one guy who sat next to me put whiskey in a coke bottle and sat there getting drunk the whole time). It was the longest 4 hours of my life.

But I just thought to myself "it's probably better than whatever they're doing at Gamestop anyways"
